    Its just so frustrating looking at the WAR for position players on this team: Lucroy 1.4 despite missing time Fielder 3.7 Weeks 3.4 Betancourt -0.7 McGehee -0.8 Hart 1.5 despite missing time and taking a while to find his swing Morgan 1.8 Gomez 1.5 Braun 4.1 This team is getting great production out of 6 positions and putrid production out of two.

    Because Counsell is better than Yuni. Yes Counsell can't hit but he can field. Yuni can't hit or field. But hey if you want to see if you can get a career type 200 PAs from Wilson that is a viable alternative as well.

    Greinke doesn't go out and say"Hey, I know, let me give up 7 runs!" Roenicke does go out and say "Hey I know! I'll play Kotsay in the field even though he's a DH! Hey I'll put Loe in against 4 straight Left handers!"

    The problem isn't really this ugly stretch, though the back to back 5 run lead cough ups is terrible. You are going to have times when your starters are bad and you will have serious trouble winning. The issue is all those games they gave away earlier which they should have won.

    He is THIS YEAR. Over his career he has what looks to be typical platoon splits.

    1) DFA or option Yuni. New defensive stats released today and Yuni is on pace to be 20 runs or so below average with his glove. Play Wilson and Counsell and look for an upgrade if possible 2) DFA Kotsay. Its really a no brainer. All of the other Roenicke toys have been put away (Reed, Almonte, Nieves), this one needs to be put on a shelf as well. 3) Platoon McGehee with Green. 4) Realize that 11 pitchers isn't a good idea and bring up McClendon That's 4 upgrades without bringing in anyone.

    Even this year his terrible K/BB ratio give you a FIP of 4.27 against LHers, terrible for a shutdown reliever.

    Yeah. I thought Montero was a switch hitter, but he is a lefty. With a competent manager, guys like Loe and Braddock are really useful. Loe has faced 86 lefties this season and 87 righties. Which means that league has a clear book on Loe with him facing 1/2 LHers. Maybe someone should slip Roenicke a copy?

    1) Why didn't Gomez come in for Kotsay to start the inning? 2) Loe vs LHers? The rest of the league seems to know how to beat Loe why can't Roenicke see this?

    Kotsay should not play over Gomez.

    A left side of the field with Yuni, Gamel and Kotsay is just amazingly awful

    Gamel can't play 3B at any time. He isn't a 3B. He's Ryan Braun bad.

    I believe its after 4 years of service time a player has to give his permission to be optioned. And Cot's had Gomez at 3 years 141 days to start the season so he should be over 4. Or maybe I'm confusing that with Gomez having to pass through revokeable waivers...

    Not sure Gomez can be sent down without his permission and there really is no reason to do so.

    Also tough because you know Counsell actually a positve WAR unlike Kotsay or McGehee.

    Obviously its the hard partying that makes Roenicke put in Loe against left handers with the game on the line in Cincy and Chicago.

    60 pitches in 3 innings for a guy coming off an injury. Maybe Kotsay was kept because he's working on a secret knuckleball?

    Must have also been intimidated by Turner field, Great American Ballpark, National's Stadium and Wrigley. Or you know, they lost to by the far the two best teams in baseball.
