  1. Does CC have something against Pomeranz or what?? Did DS need to call him in the dugout and remind him that he's on the team and available. His lack of use of him these past two days is simply, baffling.
  2. Stearns's biggest flaw this far as GM is not paying for pitching. This is why i have said, the Brewers need to change their philosophy. It's pretty obvious they aren't going to develop TOR arms other than once in a blue moon, and you can't keep signing bottom of the barrel guys for the rotation. They need to spend all the money possible in FA to at least bring in ONE stud to anchor the rotation and fill in with as many value bats as you can find, and hope it works. That's the ONLY way I can ever see them winning a World Series under Stearns.
  3. Man, you are putting all your cards on the table this week. And not in a good way. It's not that really anymore, frankly I'm at the point where I just don't even care that much. They showed at the deadline they don't care that much either, so why as a fan, should I?? Any team that constantly runs Zach Davies out to the mound, and expects anything more than what we saw in his last couple of starts and today, is just fooling themselves. THIS is the real Zach Davies, always has been. Just because he is under team control, doesn't mean you have to hold on to him like he's good or something. They could find almost anyone to do what he is capable of doing(at his best). Shelby Miller wouldn't be any worse, and there's a long list of names to go along with him too. it's just disgusting.
  4. Zach Davies, doing Zach Davies things...I knew this game would be a loss for sure. Davies should not be pitching against...well anyone, let alone the Cubs in Wrigley. CANNOT stand him.
  5. Fair enough...you guys think/feel what you want to think, and I will do the same..We are all allowed to have differing viewpoints...I've just witnessed too many shenanigans from the Cubs through the years(especially the last few), to not make me wonder about the "convenience" of the timing of this, that's all. Wonder if he'd be back right now if they were starting a series against the Mariners, if they were playing the Crew after that?? Or...would he be held back for the Brewer series "conveniently"?? Just thinking out loud.
  6. WELL aware of their rivalry...thanks
  7. Why wasn't it planned for last series? Then he could start twice against the Brewers. Could have pitched against the Cardinals..not like he has just pitched a game or anything in the last few days..my point is..he's been ready..could have easily pitched last night or tonight. But he didn't..
  8. Okay then..whatever you guys say..If you dont think his return in this series hasnt been planned for awhile idk what to tell you..Amazing how it just coincedentally worked out like that isn't it? Just like it's always coincedence that whille others in his rotation have missed turns against the Brewers..Jose Quintana never does..another strange coincidence I guess.
  9. Jordan Bastian @MLBastian · 12m As anticipated, Maddon confirms that Cole Hamels will come off IL Saturday to start vs. Milwaukee. Because of course he is..Maddon is too scared because the Crew will miss Hendricks and Lester this series. I HATE Joe Maddon, he just seems so arrogant and Though he has never said it publicly, I really think he HATES that the Brewers are even a threat in the division these last couple of years and will do ANYTHING to beat them. I really feel like Brewers series are like his Super Bowl.
  10. All I ask for is one...just one 6 or 7 game winning streak the rest of the way...that could be enough right there. Start this weekend, please...wait...nevermind, Davies pitches tomorrow...not going to happen.
  11. I guess MAYBE not using Pomeranz makes sense, if he's assuming he will need him to be the long man after Davies almost assuredly gets shelled early tomorrow. But even still, could have/should have manged the BP situation MUCH better in that inning.
  12. I'd almost guarantee it, because of course, it's a series against the Crew, and Maddon would be running scared with the Crew already not having to see Lester or Hendricks.
  13. See, now maybe I'm unconventional in my thinking, but once Canha stole second, I'm immediately putting Profar on and facing the two weak hitters coming up. Especially when Profar is a Lefty.
  14. Just absolutely no idea why Counsell would have brought Hader in. he always talks about him needing his rest etc, then he brings him in for a third straight game for the first time in his career. Puzzling. What a kick in the nuts to lose this game...just absolutely could be the worst loss of the season when all is said and done.
  15. His problem is...working DOWN in the zone too much lately. It sounds strange, because that's typically where you want a pitcher to work, but not Josh, he is FAR more effective when he works UP in the zone. His fast ball down=very hittable(especially for a lefty), his fastball up=UN hittable.
  16. Play for today. Who knows if we even need him over the weekend. Blowout wins or losses will make that moot. Win today and let the weekend take care of itself. I get that 100%. It just seems odd that he hasn't used him in 3 straight games all year(and has had plenty of chances), now in a series against an AL team with your biggest rival on deck and NOW you use him 3 straight?? I mean, I felt good about closing this out with Pomeranz, I'd have saved Josh, but hell, what do I know??
