  1. I am having a hard time just finding pieces for just Diaz if you add Lugo it gets even more complicated. Adding Lugo means the Brewers are trading away their whole farm system in one trade. That leaves us at a huge disadvantage in the future if we want to make any trades. The same with Syndergaard the only way the Brewers are making a trade with the Mets that includes Diaz and Lugo or Syndergaard by himself is if the Brewers take on a majority of the Cespedes contract which is $29.5m for next year only. That is a lot of money to take on for a player who may not play next year and wouldn't have a spot in Milwaukee to play I would play him over Braun though but that is a lot of money to be sinking into two aging OF's. But with Braun's contract coming off the books, after next year, couldn't they stomach taking Cespedes 29.5$ for one year?? I mean to me if it's the difference between resigning Moose and Grandal and paying Cespedes to get Thor, I'm resigning Moose and Grandal. However, I'm not sure you'd have to do that for Syndergaard...I would THINK that Burnes, Peralta, Davies and let's say Arcia(just for kicks) has to get them VERY close if not done. Heck you may only have ot give up two of those guys given the control they all have left.
  2. Don't forget Bobby Wahl as well
  3. Russell Martin did it fairly often Didn't Jason Kendall lead off quite a bit, including during his time as a Brewer? Perhaps I'm misremembering? Yes, he's another that did it frequently.
  4. So they're beating the teams they should beat, which is what we failed to do in June. Nothing we can do about it but deal with it and try to improve ourselves. This constantly living and dying with every Cubs win or loss in July isn't productive at all. This is getting old. I thought only noobs to baseball did this. Sweat the standings in June and July. I could care less what the Cubs, in fact I dont wanna know. But its brought up multi times every game thread so. So you're saying you're not much of a baseball fan then?? Because if you were/are there is ZERO chance you wouldn't know how the Cardinals, or Phillies or Cubs did on a particular day. Maybe not right away that same day, but by the next day, you'd know.
  5. One of these days Counsell will go with Huira in the top 3. And will stick with it. I have been complaining for 4 games about that now. Craig is trying to be cute. Heck maybe a Huira Yelich Aguilar top 3..those are the 3 hottest bats on team, also Braun had been hot, not Yelich or Huira hot. Huira, Yelich , Braun Something like that. Huira Yelich Aguilar Braun Cain Grandal Moose- Moose has a couple OBP guys ahead of him, people to drive in, I know Cain has been reaching base more. Arcia This would never happen. And prob wouldnt work. Just thought it looked good in my eyes This lineup is based on playing off the strengths of the players ahead of you. Also the Cain Grandal Moose 5-7 would be like a middle of the order 1 2 3 Also why I ain't a manager. You're right it will never happen because of CC's infatuation with going L-R-L-R through the lineup.
  6. 4 games back after tonight...VERY dangerous territory now. Cubs win today...had 12 hits, 5..5! Infield singles. Tiring see them win these "junk" games. 7-1 since the ASB, but have been at home the whole time and have played juggernauts such as Pitt, Cincy and SD. So maddening.
  7. Again, to those who keep bringing this up. Where he gonna play? Moose been struggling a bit, maybe give Moose a break or platoon and ride the hotter one? Other wise your not sitting Huira for him. I mean I assume they are not that dumb. I'm glad Shaw is having success in the minors and the Brewers dont rush it and try and squeeze him in somewhere. Let him have a strong end to the month then re evaluate. He could play 1st...I mean Thames has been okay, but that's the logical spot to play Shaw, especially IF they somehow move Thames in a trade, and maybe that's Stearns's thought process. he was asked about Shaw a week or so ago and said "we'll find a spot for a productive player", but then wouldn't speculate as to how they'd find a place for him. He also HAS played a couple of games in his career in LF...granted it was awhile ago and it was a small sample size..but he's done it.
  8. Shaw can play SS? Arcia can and should at this point. You just have to ride it out with him. Saladino isn't the answer. I'd be willing to bet a large sum of $$ an Arcia AB would have ended no differently. He isn't the answer either. They need to fix the SS position in a bad way.
  9. I'm ASSUMING it would be for Syndergaard...so any number of options(not considering who the Mets may need position wise) that I would THINK could be trade bait from the current roster...Chase, Chacin, Albers, Arcia, Peralta, Pina, possibly Gamel and yes even Davies. You’re assuming it’s about Syndergaard and then go on to list a bunch of players pretty much no team wants, much less for players like Syndergaard? They would be fillers or "throw ins" on top of prospects. I'm pretty sure the Mets would take Davies as a piece.
  11. That would be incredibly disappointing if they just make a couple of small moves...go big or go home. Or ... and hear be out here .... they stay away from overrated "name" guys and instead make smart acquisitions. Those "name" guys may be the smart acquisitions and not necessarily overrated. Could just be having a down year. Guys with control like Syndergarrd. That's what everyone here wants, right?? Controllable players?? Go get him, he has lots of control left.
  12. That would be incredibly disappointing if they just make a couple of small moves...go big or go home.
  13. No, they need to get some arms NOW...like right away, none of this waiting BS.
  14. I've been saying this for awhile. he should be the aggressor and go out and fix the problem NOW. Why even tempt fate at the possibility it could spiral out of control by then?? Why not try to stop it NOW before it ever gets to that point.
  15. If they do that, they are obviously waving the white flag on the season. That would be pathetic. Just go get an arm and be done with it. Problem solved. He's our best pitching prospect. It is not unusual or waving a white flag in the least for a team to give their best pitching prospect a shot at the MLB level. It is how we got Peralta and Burnes here last year. You don't give him a shot in the middle of a pennant race. That's the absolute worst time to do it. If they are 15 games out, sure, go for it. But every game is important right now...I for one, don't want to be giving chances to a pitching prospect in the middle of a pennant race. GET AN ARM.
  16. With Gio starting tomorrow, Burch was already buckled in. Now he's anxiously waiting, hoping not to pitch so maybe Jackson takes his place. San Antonio Express...GIGO...Garbage in, garbage out.
  17. Time for a two run bomb, then I will feel a bit better about their chances of a comeback tonight
