  3. Look at it this way, what would be more dramatic and exciting then a walk off win?? They are just saving it for that. Right Brewers??? You are going to win this game, right??

  5. For those of you in the Milwaukee area with Directv, I just checked and to my surprise, Mets-Marlins is scheduled to be on TBS at Noon!!!

  7. Here is the Brewers lineup......it's up to the veterans who have been in this spot before(Durham, Counsell, & Kendall) to see the kids through this one. THEY need to be the ones with the big hits today, the solid defense, and the leadership to get this thing done. Just for the record well before the game even starts, IF the Brewers win today, it will be because of a HUGE Corey Hart hit. That's right, I said it....THAT Corey Hart will come up big today. CF Mike Cameron 2B Ray Durham LF Ryan Braun 1B Prince Fielder SS J.J. Hardy RF Corey Hart 3B Craig Counsell C Jason Kendall LHP CC Sabathia

  9. Well, I know there is another IGT for the Mets-Marlins game, but given the circumstances, I think it's relevant to post their lineups here. When I saw the Marlins lineup, I just about cried...... METS (89-72): 7 Reyes, SS 15 Beltran, CF 21 Delgado, 1B 5 Wright, 3B 6 Evans, LF 22 Martinez, 2B 19 Church, RF 11 Castro, C 46 Perez, LHP MARLINS (83-77): 24 Maybin, CF 21 Baker, C 3 Cantu, 3B 17 Jacobs, 1B 14 Willingham, LF 6 Uggla, 2B 12 Ross, RF 4 Almezega, SS 34 Olsen, LHP You are not seeing things.....no Hanley Ramirez. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

  11. 26 years......The time another sports team in Milwaukee went before reaching the pinnacle again. 1977 Marquette Warriors won the National Championship. 2003 the Marquette Warriors again reached the Final Four. 26 years......The Milwaukee Brewers won the American League Pennant in 1982 before advancing to the World Series. 2008....Milwaukee Brewers..... Is this an omen??? You tell me......
  12. On a side note, who is starting for the Cubs tomorrow? I've seen both Guzman and Zambrano. Anyone know for sure? It's going to be Guzman. Zambrano was a late scratch even though Piniella initially said he'd start tomorrow. Either way it sounds like Guzman will only go 2-3 innings at most and then Lou will turn it over to the bullpen probably without Marmol and Wood however. Let's put it this way, if the Brewers can't beat a Cubs bullpen of Bob Howry, Chad Gaudin, Neal Cotts etc, then they simply don't deserve to go to the playoffs.
  13. I will admit it, I am nervous as all heck. Today was their chance I'm afraid, and they blew it. There are a few things that really worry me about tomorrow. First of all, the Cubs have hit CC around better then any other team this year, and him going on short rest for the third straight time has me worried about that. I mentioned this in the in game thread today, and I will mention it again now, but, I would have just as soon see Lou start his B lineup tomorrow against CC and gone with the regulars today. That would have given me a lot more confidence. I just want this so bad, as we all do. I worry the most that the guys will be pressing all day long and the bats will go silent one last time. Tomorrow would be the perfect day for the bats to wake up, and give us a snoozer early. That would help take the edge off for everyone. The worst that can happen is a one game playoff on Monday. As worried as I am about the Brewers winning, I am even more worried the Mets will win. I am afraid that the terrific outing they got from Johan today will be enough to carry them through tomorrow. That all being said, as agonizing as it would be to have to prolong the possible inevitable(no Brewers in the post season), I still would like their chances in a one game playoff on Monday. The Mets couldn't use Johan, or Pelfrey or Perez, they would almost HAVE to go with Niese. Is that a position you'd want to be in if you were a Mets fan?? The Brewers can and will throw Yovani on short rest(his arm is fresh) if it comes to that, so how can that NOT be in the Brewers favor?? The veterans on this team that have been here before(Cameron, Counsell, Kendall) need to be a calm, steadying influence tomorrow and help these kids get through this. I would like to see those three address the rest of the team before the game tomorrow. Maybe it would help the kids to calm down and just play ball. Let their talent take over. This is what we have all wanted for the last 26 years, we are all just worried it will end in bitter disappointment. How can you help but feel any different?? We are Brewer fans after all.
  14. I'd go with Big Seth myself.
  15. What's ironic about all of this is just last year if I remember correctly the Cubs and Lou whined to the league office about their concern about the Astros not using their regular players in a late season series against the Brewers, when the Cubs were in the middle of a pennant race. Kind of funny how they whine about it when it could be to their benefit, but this year they turn around and do the EXACT same thing in a series against the Mets when serious playoff implications are on the line. I think our complaints are valid don't you??
  16. I don't know how much more he could have done for the Brewers. The bullpen use was perfectly valid. They needed a tuneup before the playoffs. The bullpen could have also gotten their use in on Thursday just the same as today. If he does it in one series, he should do it in the other. Look, I don't care if he plays all his guys, and uses his best bullpen guys against the Brewers, if he does the same against the Mets. The bottom line is, Lou only gives a crap about the integrity of the WC race when it benefits his ball club, and truth be told deep down, I think he'd rather take his chances with the Mets in a possible NLCS then have to deal with CC and Gallardo.
  17. The stakes weren't the same for both teams though. The Cubs had zero to gain and a whole lot to lose if Marmol or Wood get hurt on a wet mound. No manager in his right mind would send his prized relievers out there in those conditions with nothing on the line for his club. You're being irrational and would probably be best served to step away from the computer and take a deep breath. And the Cubs have alot to gain today right?? You can talk until your blue in the face. It isn't going to change the fact that Lou has taken this series more seriously. Does Florida have anything to gain?? It was raining all day today in NY yet they are playing their guys, with no reason to. The baseball gods will not take kindly to this crap by Lou and they will get their payback in the playoffs...trust me.
  18. Um, don't they owe it to the Mets to try? Your reaction is completely over the top. EXACTLY my point. Where was marmol in the 8th inning on thursday in a game they were winning?? Don't give me that wet field crap. The conditions were the same for both teams.
  19. How much you want to bet Lou brings in Wood for the 9th?? I will NEVER EVER respect Lou Piniella again after the way he has manged this game. You leave Marquis in you idiot, he's on your playoff roster as a reliever let him work out of it.
  20. So Lous is really starting head case tomorrow?? What a bunch of crap. He manages this series to win it(despite the lineup today), but had no interest in winning that last Mets game or the Brewers wouldn't even be in this situation. Thanks Lou!!
  21. To have ANY chance of coming back in this game, they must get SOMETHING next inning with the heart of the order up.
  22. To be honest, I wish Lou would have started this lineup tomorrow against CC when the Brewers face Marquis. The Cubs regular lineup has hit CC well this year. You still have to be confident that he will get it done, but you'd feel much better about it if the Cubs sat everyone tomorrow instead. Looking ahead to a potential 1 game playoff, I actually like the way it sets up for the Brewers, should it get to that. The Crew can throw Yovani on 3 days rest, while the Mets would have no choice to but to throw Niese with Santana going today, he wouldn't be an option, neither would Perez who goes tomorrow, or Pelfrey for that matter who pitched on Friday. That is definately advantage Brewers. Oh well, no choice but to go out and rock Marquis tomorrow, and let the chips fall where they may. Mets fans can't feel real confident with Oliver Perez pitching with the season on the line. Then again, they have rocked Scot Olsen the last two times they have faced him. Should be fun, but hopefully not depressing.
  23. Lilly would be the number 2 starter on the Brewers right now... Not hardly, he'd be number #3 at best behind CC and Gallardo. They ripped Lilly around last year if I recall correctly.
  24. If they can't beat a stiff like Lilly, they don't deserve to be in the playoffs anyway.
  25. I can't believe they are not lighting up "leave em up" Lilly yet.
