  1. Yep, it's easy to see a flubbed throw, not so easy to see a hit and think if Weeks was out there maybe he gets to that ball. This is the same sort of thing that leads to underrating Cameron, he often makes an easy play where someone else would make a diving, highlight worthy, catch.
  2. My point is, has he ever, even once in his young baseball career ever entered a game mid-inning with runners on base? Has he ever even started an inning late in a game he didn't start? Why speculate, when the answers are right at your fingertips? He was used as a reliever 3 times in 2007: http://sports.espn.go.com...pe=pitching&year=2007
  3. They looked like a team playing out the string as opposed to one that was trying to hold a lead for a playoff spot. I thought Yost was managing as if that were the case, while Manuel was managing as if it were a playoff series.

  5. That would be a foolish and short-sighted decision. As others have said the Cubs will likely be looking beyond the games with Milwaukee and setting themselves up for the best possible chance of winning the NLDS. Anyway, the Brewers are not the Cubs #1 rival St. Louis is.
  6. Please don't refer to baseball managers as "head coach" this is about as bad as calling runs "points".
  7. not sure what that really gives you. With 37 guys in that bullpen already Obviously there is still a shortage of right handers in the pen, what other reason could there be for having your lefty specialist pitch to a right hander in a critical situation?
  8. Due to several incidents, some here have started to hate the Cards as much or more than the Cubs.
  9. Rosenthal's column referred Under Yost as "a veritable Captain Queeg in the dugout". Not being familiar with this allusion, I went off to find out about this Captain... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_Queeg Assuming Rosenthal's characterization is correct, putting that together with the other information that has leaked out and JJ's comments and the comment that Sveum is respected by all the players, I think it is pretty clear that much of the team had lost whatever respect they may have had for Yost as a manager.
  10. A play just like that led to the winning run scoring in 1/3 of the wins during the month of Sept., so far.
  11. So badgerblogger was right all along, just a bit off on the timing http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  12. "We put ourselves in this position. It's nobody else's fault. It's not other teams playing good. It's us playing bad." "I don't think it matters who throws against us now," said Braun. "We're struggling in batting practice." http://blogs.jsonline.com...-total-disaster-quot.aspx
  13. Maybe Wrigley field finally collapses, the Brewers are contracted out of existance, and the Cubs move in permanently...changing their name to the Chicago Cubs of Milwaukee.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/devil.gif
  14. Looser Losers
  15. should we Philadelphia really worry about Houston?
  16. How 'bout now?
  17. Again, reasonable choices were Shouse vs. Howard or a right-hander vs. Burrell. He has no basis for "relying" on Shouse against right handers. It is just moronic to have Shouse walk a left hander to have him pitch to a right handed batter. They have 11 guys in the bullpen, several of them are right handers, pick one from among: McClung, Dillard, DiFelice, Coffey, Gagne , Riske, Torres, Villaneuva. If Yost did not like any of those options, then Shouse should have pitched to Howard.
  18. http://bp3.blogger.com/_N9tEmA-UZv0/SBfubPFOBKI/AAAAAAAAA0k/beZtO2Z9y24/s320/groin.bmp[/url]
  19. so Yost had him walked intentionally despite the lefty-lefty match-up. "At that point, he's so hot, you've got to (walk him)," said Yost. "You bring in 'Shousie' to face him but I couldn't bring myself to do it." http://blogs.jsonline.com...st-stuck-with-shouse.aspx
  20. Ah, I see. I actually had thought maybe it was a typo. I would (assuming they don't turn it around) just say the team seemed to collapse under the pressure of trying to make it to the post-season.
  21. Why have your situational lefty in there to walk a left-hander? Not against right-handers. Nervous Nedley's reasonable choices were Shouse vs. Howard or a right-hander vs. Burrell, instead he chooses Shouse vs. Burrell and hopes it works out, against all odds.
  22. Or maybe not, if this keeps up the Brewers will be done before then and they will be meaningless games attended by 45,000 celebrating Cub fans. The Brewers will sweep since there will be no pressure and no booing.
  23. If this is correct the expos/nationals have gone one year longer than the Brewers: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_League_Baseball_franchise_post-season_droughtshttp://en.wikipedia.org/w...hise_post-season_droughts
  24. This is the only link I could find with 5 minutes of searching. http://www.bullz-eye.com/...ommentary/2003/120201.htm href="http://www.bullz-eye.com/NewsAndCommentary/2003/120201.htm" target=_blank>A premium scam: How the Tribune Co. has your cake and eats it, too Thanks, was not aware of that. I don't think there would be anything wrong with the team actually setting the face value of tickets closer to the market value, but hiding behind a phoney ticket broker is sleazy.
