  1. The Brewers probably need to consider a DFA for Nelson as they won't be paying him arbitration next year. Lots of minor leaguers not on the 40 man that could help in September.
  2. Great to see Devin Williams in AAA, appears to be a slam dunk to be added to the 40 man in the next couple of months.
  3. That's an opinion. KeithStone complaining about arguing about the topic and length of thread when the poster started the topic and has the most posts within is a bit odd. Fact, and not even debatable.
  4. It would look a lot better with Isan Diaz and Monte Harrison in the Brewers System and if Hiura was still a prospect. They have had recent impact players like Woodruff and Hiura so that probably compares pretty well against other teams. I don't know other team systems too well but compared to previous Brewers systems I would say it is likely not that great right now, maybe two top 100 type players.
  5. You don't see a lot of front loading of contracts in the NFL, it is pretty much always a large signing bonus and that is spread over the life of the contract for cap purposes. I think Daniels simply isn't worth the 8 million so they they cut him and will just carry forward that amount if not used this year. Since they did this for Daniels then I wish they would have done the same with Graham when they had the chance earlier in the year but whatever.
  6. Yes Jeffrey Hammonds was a big disappointment that did not meet the huge expectations the Brewers tried to sell to the fans. Good timing for Hammonds but the Brewers were moving into Miller Park and trying to show the fans they were going to spend money to win at the new park by giving Hammonds the largest contract in team history up to that point. He was also coming off multiple 2 WAR season withs the Reds and Rockies respectively and came nowhere near that in his entire career with the Brewers
  7. On the MLB roster: 1. Grandal 2. Moose 3. Thames In the minors 1. Supak 2. Dubon 3. Ray 4. Grisham 5. Devin Williams 6. Ashby 7. Stokes or Taylor 8. Diplan
  8. I don't see the Brewers putting Grisham in the 4th outfielder role. Gamel can be that guy for another year as I also don't see Gamel getting much in trade. Think service time is always considered as well, getting his seven seasons instead of calling him up in September and then having to delay calling him up even longer in 2020. Could see Grisham being called up after a month or so next season or the guy that gets the majority of starts if there is an injury next year to one of the starters over Gamel.
  9. You would think the Commissioner's office could make an exception and let a team bring in another player when attending a major league player's funeral.
  10. Diaper bags are still allowed so not restricting families with young children. I have brought a backpack from time to time but not much of an adjustment to bring something with no zippers. Can still bring a couple bottled waters and sodas along with peanuts in a smaller bag.
  11. Don't see a heck of a lot, maybe Tim Beckham of the Mariners if they are looking more utility. He is somewhat better offensively but losing some on defense. Still has talent but if the Orioles give up on you . . .
  12. Yeah, calling anybody trash should be reserved for pretty horrible human beings and not guys that pitch. I wouldn't mind if they gave Supak a shot since he is on the 40 man and stretched out.
  13. Gamel is probably the most overrated player on this team, far from great. Okay as a reserve, but he isn't likely getting better with more playing time like some suggest.
  14. That is one thing I agree with Brew Crew 92. The Brewers have some bad depth right now, guys like Williams and Grisham will have to be added soon but hopefully there is more quality depth next year on the back end of the 40 man.
  15. With Hiura graduating yesterday, MLB Pipeline inserted Devin Williams at #15 in the Brewers System. So he should be another riser.
  16. I'll post the guy's response/answer now (before comments get out of hand): The security guy said that is on average one or two a game. Madscientist was "on target" with this one. Also, this question to the security guard was just about guns being snuck into the stadium. Knives and other weapons were not mentioned. So does that mean he finds 1-2 per game or is that all gates combined?
  17. Taylor is pretty likely to be removed from the 40 man sometime during the season still or after the season, he hasn't built upon his previous year to deserve a 40 man spot. If an injury happened and they still had playoff aspirations I wouldn't be surprised if they went with Grisham. He would probably be the best option even though Stokes/Taylor are on the 40 man.
  18. Correct, he had a nice first couple of games then the rest of April was pretty bad. He picked things up in May and has been pretty much Superman since June.
  19. I want Chacin, Moose and Grandal moves for sure. And it’d be great if we could find someone on Thames and/or possibly Davies. Please STOP...they are NOT going to sell..ZERO chance of that happening, UNLESS they are say 7-8 games back by the deadline(which isn't going to happen). You don't tell the fans you're selling after what you did in the offseason to compete this year. Come on, they are a couple of losses from being a below 500 team, there is more than a zero chance of selling. Why so angry that somebody has a different opinion than you?
  20. I sure hope they don't trade him. Having a left handed power hitter in the other outfield corner position to replace Braun to go along with Yelich would be great. Also don't think this year is the time to call him up. Will probably get at least a good couple months in AAA next year and then see where Braun as at and if Grisham replaces Braun at least against righties.
  21. These are fringe guys so yes they have to produce in small samples no context needed. That is professional sports.
  22. Right, for a small sample in 2018 when Saladino played for Milwaukee he was above average but his entire career tells you what to expect, which isn't much. I guess they were looking to ride a hot hand for a little but as is often the case a hot bat in the minors doesn't always carry to the majors. Next.
  23. Two hours before a Saturday night game shouldn't be an issue.
