  1. I imagine Feliciano will be top 100 by this time next year. I'll just let them develop and be glad for some catching depth including the recent draft.
  2. I definitely would not put Braun ahead of Hiura. He has been okay and if that is the best righty they have then it isn't very good. If Braun is "mashing" now I would like to see the word to describe him when he was actually really good at baseball.
  3. Unfortunately, the Brewers have a very difficult division that they can win this year. By the way, cut it out with the "people need to wrap their minds around this" and eye roll type stuff. Definitely not unfortunate as I have seen plenty of bad baseball but I also wish they put the best players out there to win every game when they do have the talent to win the division and more.
  4. Certainly an interesting question at this point. Grisham is a couple of years younger and is on pace for a better season than Ray's 2018. Both will have to be added to the 40 man after the season, would imagine one gets traded at the deadline.
  5. I'm not going to flip out about Hiura being demoted but they lose the game Saturday without him and maybe he would have won another game during the time he is demoted. With last year and having a game 163 I probably have more of an attitude that every games counts vs. he will be back later in the season to contribute attitude that I may have had in the past. Do agree with the now deleted post that Shaw has been a 4 WAR player and should be given some leash but having faith in Shaw and wanting Hiura as part of the team doesn't have to be mutually exclusive. If Moose does need a couple of more days will certainly disagree with the move.
  6. I think repeating a level has helped but already reaching his season high in HR at June 1 is certainly encouraging. His OBP has always been there but would like a better average to make that OBP even more impressive.
  7. Yeah in baseball I tend to hear that things will just work itself out and it doesn't look like it will be too difficult getting Hiura and Shaw playing time. Not a chance Hiura gets demoted right now
  8. I wouldn't but it probably takes Burnes to get it done. If Stearns wants a clear upgrade at a certain position he may very well have to part with Burnes or watch from the sidelines as the rest of the farm system isn't all that appealing. Their most appealing prospects are young guys in A ball and a pitcher coming off multiple Tommy John surgeries.
  9. I think they are in good position, especially with their schedule thus far. A lot will depend on the trade deadline, think some of the deals last year really helped put them over the top. Don't know if they have the prospects anymore to improve enough at the deadline this year. A lot will depend on how Nelson performs when he pitches in Milwaukee again.
  10. I disagree, as has been noted many times he is very close to 5 years so it does play a part. The Brewers have to be comfortable he is ready to be a major League contributer because if they bring him up and he is not ready then they have to release him. He is a long time Brewer but they are also trying to win games and make the playoffs.
  11. It is 4 years and 107 days at the start of the year and about a week from 5 years now but that has been paused for now since he was optioned.
  12. It's close but looks like in about a week they wouldn't have been able to option Nelson. Once he is up he will likely be up for good.
  13. I'm kind of bummed, Anderson and Chacin have a couple of more chances to see if they deserve the final couple spots.
  14. If they opt to start Nelson Tuesday they should just put Chacin or Anderson in the bullpen starting today and move everybody up a day since they have had all these off days. Could afford to bring up another position player and dropping a pitcher the next few games too.
  15. I wouldn't, Braun has none of the counting stats to ever be a hall of fame player, basically has no shot anymore. Yelich is around 15-20% to get 3,000 hits. Whether Yelich stays with the Brewers is another story but for sure the best bet to be inducted as a Brewer into the Hall of Fame.
  16. With the thin bench and Davies not going too long today would expect Woodruff to pinch hit for the second day in a row.
  17. Nice, long at bat by Arcia. Ensures the Brewers will be in this game and Castillo can't last too much longer. Will be a battle of the bullpens.
  18. Any clue as to why the San Antonio SP is listed as TBD? Should be Nelson' turn.
  19. As I have mentioned before you can't get rid of Perez. He is the back up for the infield and most notably at SS. Get rid of him and Arcia is literally the only person to man SS. You would have to replace him with a SS and Hiura isn't that nor is Shaw. My guess is that happens next year with Dubon or Saladino when Perez is even more costly but safe this year.
  20. I believe they will demote Hiura once Shaw is ready to come back, don't think they will option Shaw quite yet and won't DFA Perez this year.
  21. They do have control over Claudio next year as well so I can see why Counsell would use him against more than lefties every once in a while since Counsell will be forced to keep pitchers in more than he would like next year.
  22. I'm with you here. You have every right to say you don't think he will reach the majors this year or ever, I don't think there is a chance either this season. If others have a different opinion that is fine, just because I have a different opinion doesn't mean I am trying to police what you think.
  23. Would rather have Freitas up as he is already on the 40 man and don't really care if he only gets one start while Pina is on the IL. Think Nottingham could maybe benefit more playing in AAA since he did get hurt a couple of times last year and only has about a half year experience in AAA.
  24. Maybe the Twins would be a match as we get closer to the deadline and extended rosters since they are relying on Cron to play 1B and he is righty. Of course if Thames is still producing at that point and the Brewers are in it I don't know if there is enough to gain by trading him.
