  1. I would probably change my mind at this point and add Cam Devanney. Every team could use an infielder that goes up and down during the year and Pablo Reyes can't be that anymore so maybe Devanney can be that person. Turang could play that role as well but thinking they would want him to play on a regular basis and not be the shuttle guy.
  2. Before the Reds series, I said probably need to go 11-2 the rest of the way and will stick with that. 8-1 will get them in but nothing less than that will do.

  4. Congrats to Nashville. I admit I didn't know Dorrian's history. Would look at the box score and he would consistently produce but would see his overall numbers and think he was just a guy. However, he has played great with Nashville.
  5. A 9-2 record means the Padres can go 6-5 or Phillies 6-6. Don't think 8 wins will get it done. Really need a sweep of the Reds still. Unfortunately the Cardinals will have a lot to play for next week against the Brewers clinching the division in Milwaukee.
  6. That's a bad guess then, McCutchen is gone.
  7. You don't have Ashby's contract, Milner is in arbitration, Brosseau is missing and arbitration, why no salary for minimum salary guys? Don't have Taylor but he is minimum. I guess you assume they are declining Boxberger 's option and non tender of Gustave who is in arbitration.
  8. He was mentioned in trade talks but I do wonder what kind of contract Drury will be looking for at 3B. Urias is second year arbitration and not exactly cheap anymore, would explore trading him as well. May make sense to pick up Wong option and see what the best possible return is on Urias/Wong and keep the other. Then can go Wong/Brosseau or Urias/Turang depending on who they keep. Either way I don't want Urias at 3B anymore.
  9. Facing a lefty (Minor) tonight but who knows.
  10. Will be interesting to see who they get rid of today with Lauer coming back. Strzelecki with options would be the easy choice but would rather they just DFA Perdomo at this point and be done with him. Will have to get rid of somebody else when Peralta is recalled this weekend as well. Milner has been pretty bad the entire second half too and could be optioned.
  11. Realistic yes but the Padres are playing a good Braves team with lots to play for. I believe the Brewers pick up at least two games on the Padres over these 4 games.
  12. Probably more an indication that individual wins don't matter more than anything but with a victory today Brandon Woodruff will have his first 12 win season.
  13. Brewers probably have to go at least 11-2 the rest of the way and hope Phillies only go 8-6. Maybe lose one to the Cardinals and another to the Marlins with their pitching. Keep on hearing the Brewers must win 3/4 from the Reds but really think they need a sweep. It stinks when good teams like the Blue Jays can't put the Phillies away but the Brewers have had plenty of opportunities and shouldn't be in position hoping that other teams do what they couldn't.
  14. Blue Jays had bases loaded and 1 out. 2-0 count and Teoscar Hernandez swings at horrible pitch, probably was going to get walked. Then he lines into double play and don't score. Imagine the Phillies walk it off now.
  15. Brewers have a lot of relief pitching decisions. Even though not free agents, Gott/Suter/Bush/Perdomo/Gustave/Milner/Williams are all arbitration eligible as well. Out of that group only Williams is a slam dunk tender. Topa/Cousins/Strzelecki are the minimum salary guys so maybe want three/four of these other guys back. I would lean toward keeping Boxberger at the 2.25.

  17. Just as Summer ends, the Summer of George also ends, hopefully never to return again.
  18. Not sure why there is so much loyalty to McCutchen. If they really want to try to have a better offense these last couple of weeks play Frelick at DH against Righties for his on base abilities and leave McCutchen in against lefties. McCutchen has stunk, he isn't magically going to turn it around. Hiura would be the guy to get optioned but they are not playing him much anyways.
  19. Yes, has been on the Brewers 40 man since early 2021. He is out of options next season however so a potential DFA.

  21. I think they decline the option as they have to work within a budget and $8 million is too much. Would probably prefer Jace since he can play more positions and is a decent replacement player when injuries happen.
  22. No need to apologize, most probably didn't understand the question because it was about Matt Vasgersian, who last announced for the Brewers on 2001. I guess I don't watch enough games on MLB Network to notice.
  23. I'm not happy to see that Uribe and Black are planning on playing again.
  24. It's possible the Brewers eliminate the Cardinals from the playoffs but pretty much impossible at this point to win the division.
