  1. Wait, a batter doesn’t need to strike out with a runner at third and less than two outs?
  2. That is quite incredible. Imagine if they just had a sub-par offense instead of a god-awful offense. It’s a waste of an incredibly talented pitching staff. I’m 42 and a lifelong Brewers fan. These last two years have been the least enjoyable years that I can remember. The 2002 season wasn’t as disappointing. It’s really hard to watch this team, but everyday I put myself through it for some reason.
  3. You're not making a good argument against a trade here. Yeah, if that’s all it takes to get a perennial All-Star in his prime for $25 million per season and only through his age 35 season, that’s not bad at all. It’s not like the contract runs through his late 30’s or into his 40’s. I do think we will see Stearns target a big time bat whether it’s one at the trade deadline with multiple years of control or this offseason in free agency. It’s a loaded SS class and we could explore that avenue and moving Urias to 2nd. There’s some nice bats at 1st and 3rd as well. Where’d Wong go in this scenario? I can’t imagine them signing the best defensive 2B just to move him out of position.
  4. We can argue all day, but it comes down to whether or not Stearns acquires good offensive talent. He hasn’t the last two years and it’s been detrimental to the on-field product, which likely will hurt the Brewers pocketbook when fans aren’t going to show up knowing that if the pitchers give up more than two runs the game is likely over. Like it or not, most fans want to see excitement at the ballpark (even if the Brewers lose), and the offense-less flavor of Brewers baseball just isn’t exciting for most.
  5. Wouldn’t surprise me if the offense finally shows up after Woodruff and Burnes depart. Can’t have both offense and good pitching you know. It’s only one of the other in Milwaukee.
  6. Yeah, it’s unfortunate he was so awful that they couldn’t put him out there any longer. I believe we were looking ‘ok’ at 1B at the time as well. But yes, it would be great to have him back. This last series with the Cardinals just shows the difference between our teams when you look at the 1B and 3B situations. It’s sad.
  7. If the Brewers would have acquired Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado instead of the Cardinals (when both were made available I was foolishly hoping...) I’d feel a lot better about this team and would think they’d have a serious chance to make a run for a World Series.
  8. I have no excitement towards going to any games due to this pathetic offense. I was actually happy that the money for our season tickets was being reimbursed so we didn’t have to go for now. Now that the stadium is going back to 100% capacity on June 25 we’ll actually start getting scheduled tickets again. Hopefully the offense shows up by then...
  9. Is anyone else not excited about how well Woodruff is pitching because it’s very likely that the Brewers offense won’t put enough runs up regardless of how well he pitches? He could go 9 innings and not allow a hit and they still could lose in the 10th.
  10. This is why I was so disappointed they didn’t sign any decent bats this off-season. Like 2020 they are depending on a lot of subpar players and it’s not going well. With even a mediocre offense this team could be quite good. Doesn’t help that Yelich is injured and lost his power even when playing and that Hiura forgot how to hit. The offense these two years reminds me of the early 2000’s meager years.
  11. It may be for a negative prognosis on Yelich’s injury.
  12. And to make things worse, I’m going out to dinner with my in-laws tonight. They are Cubs fans.
  13. Make Lindblom finish this game and then send him on his way. Not worth keeping him on the roster at this point.
