  1. I'm hoping this quote becomes a punchline like "We want the ball and we're going to score".
  2. Looking at the weather, the wind is slated to be coming from the E to SE tonight (9 MPH). I think that means it will be blowing in from RF?
  3. I know Murphy wanted LH batters at the plate in the 7th when Collins and Perkins appeared, but had he only PHd Perkins for Lockridge and left Collins on the bench, it might have opened more options in the 8th had Collins been available to pinch run for Chourio. Maybe a bunt by Turang may have been attempted?
  4. Peralta confirmed as the starter for tonight (h/t Adam McCalvy on X)
  5. I'm all for Peralta today and a bullpen game on Saturday (Quintana opener with Priester/Miz in relief?). Go for the jugular today and if Saturday is needed, so be it. The Brewers can retool their pitching staff with fresh arms for the NLCS (Myers, Hall and/or Rob Z could be additions).
  6. Heard on the radio this morning that playoff assignments by MLB are given by seniority, not merit. This is far different than any other sport. That really needs to change.....
  7. Looks like Alek Manoah was DFA'd by the Blue Jays. Is he damaged goods or worth a flier?
  8. It could be the coffee.....😉
  9. [sarcasm]An MVP wouldn't go on the ManningCast and cost his team a win[/sarcasm]
  10. Look at the stat sheet from 2012. He was every bit as good, even after the positive test, as he was in 2011 when he won the MVP and was using. What gets lost in the Braun story is the thumb injury in 2013 and 2014. As I recall, he hurt his thumb in 2013 and tried to play through it while experiencing a major power outage. He missed a month on the DL, came back reaggravated the thumb, was shut down and placed on the DL. It was then that he cut a deal with MLB and served a suspension when he was not liekly to play anyways due to the injury. He again played through the thumb injury in 2014 then had the nerves frozen in his thumb. After that surgery he was 31 and hit .279/.341/.501 for the remainder of his career. Sure maybe not the .900+ OPS player he was at 25, but neither was Mickey Mantle. Pound for pound the best hitter the Brewers had since I started following the team in 1988. Don't bring this up to Keith Law on Twitter.....he's all over the steroid angle.
  11. "There is no structural damage to Giannis Antetokounmpo's left knee after his awkward landing last night in Atlanta; ligaments are sound, sources tell @ZachLowe_NBA and me. Timetable to return is unclear."
  12. Received Pfizer #2 on Saturday morning. Other than the sore arm (Tylenol had no effect on it), dry mouth, and fatigue on Sunday - no major side effects.
  13. Burnes saw a sports psychologist to work on the mental side as well.....

    Pizza

For the last two years, this is the only pizza my family has ordered out. Their Turbo crust seasoning is awesome.
  15. Doug Russell was let go by WTMJ a few weeks ago and landed at 97.3 - yet another reason to tune in to that station. Always respected him, as well....
  16. My wife received her first shot on NYE and only had a sore arm. She's set to get her next shot in two weeks (Pfizer vaccine) and we'll see how she feels after that one.
  17. I said this before, but the biggest issue is that they can't test everyone like they need to test. Are the hospitals blaming the 'stay at home' order for this? I don't doubt that. But the reason we have to continue this thing is that the hospital systems don't have the testing capacity that they need. I know this because my wife has to hear this - and deal with it - every single day. Everyday, the big question is about how many people can they test. If they can test more, they can start doing more. And the biggest reason they can't test is that they don't have the supplies to do it. Again, I hear this from my wife everyday. All the hospitals and clinics are prepared for an influx of patients with regard to testing, and the immediate professionals who must treat them. But the capacity to test - after those necessities - is limited. Healthcare professionals are being furloughed because it is not safe for them to do their job. Increase the capacity for testing - for the workers and the patients - and that will change. History has shown that in situations like this, hospitals and clinics are one of the most dangerous places to be. Frankly, you would be insane to send your mother or child or whomever to a hospital without knowing all the professionals involved in your loved ones care was free of COVID. Remember, COVID does not have to display any symptoms. Thus a nurse or doctor - if not tested - could have the virus - and go on to treat dozens of people (many who are sick or vulnerable) in a single day. That's exactly how you get outbreaks. I would also like to add that there are nurses and doctors and other healthcare people who refuse to work without testing. It's a crazy situation. We know a doctor who is working. His wife has undergone chemo a couple of times in the last year - making her extremely vulnerable to COVID. He goes home at night and talks to her between a plastic sheet. He has a room in the basement blocked off from the rest of the house, where he has his computer and TV and bed. He can't risk bringing anything home. COVID would kill his wife. No matter what, I wish everyone well. I'm sorry your wife believes this, but it just isn't true. The reason hospitals and clinics are half empty is because routine appts and elective procedures have been put on hold. It has nothing to do with PPE. This was not part of Evers stay at home order, it was guidance by the CDC and various federal agencies. The goal was to create space, beds, and medical staff for the onslaught of corona virus patients that never came. Also, while I'm at it, I'm sick of hearing medical providers whine about lack of PPE. Why didn't they have a supply on hand for a pandemic, or any other type of emergency? My wife works in a Milwaukee area hospital (not on the front lines), but I can confirm this to be the case why that particular hospital was looking into furloughs - their census was down due to the expected flood of COVID cases not occurring, along with the postponement of anything not seen as an emergency.
  18. Fox sports Wisconsin doesn't work on my fox sports go app anymore. I have U-verse. Once I login, it's gone. I still have FS1 etc. This is why I was asking about cord cutting, i watch alot of sports on my mobile so not having that ability, makes it no longer sensible to have cable TV. This is odd - I have UVerse and just tried the FSGO app on my phone. I was able to watch what's on FS Wisconsin without any issues.
  19. The post above yours provides an example of someone who returned to action in just over 5 weeks. That would be a best case scenario. Most likely, Yelich won't see the field before Spring Training. But.....would it be impossible to see him if the Brewers made a run? Not necessarily.......
  20. Just to add - consider this tweet from Tom Haudricourt:
  21. How many times is “every now and then” with regards to laying into an ump? He’s been ejected twice this season and that included the shouting match with Mike Estabrook. Best I can tell, over his managing career it looks like he’s been ejected 14 times. Just because he isn't on the field arguing with an umpire doesn't mean he's not laying into them, either. On Tuesday night, they caught Counsell giving the ump a piece of his mind from the top step on TV. I thought he was going to be tossed.....
