Wait, wasn't Suppan a veteran, big game pitcher? Suppan should have never seen an inning this series. YoGa, Parra, Seth were all much better options than this joke of a pitcher.
Just got online, so yeah, I'm piling on. I'm traveling on biz today, get in the car to try and catch the game. Turn to ESPN Radio to immediately hear "and the Phillies get out of the jam after a 1-2-3 double play with the bases loaded" and they go to commercial without saying anything else. I say to myself "I'll bet my paycheck, that was Corey Hart". What a surprise. Over/Under of hit number 2 is the 7th inning, I'm taking the over...
Eeek, I wouldn't start Suppan, period. If they are down 2-1, I don't want Suppan in the state, let alone starting. If they are up 2-1, I'd rather try to end it with YoGa and a combo of relievers, in the hope you can save CC for the NLCS
1. Brewers - duh 2. White Sox - Because it would anger Cubs Fans 3. Angels - Like this team a lot 4. Rays - Like the team, but fans are weak 5. Phillies - Lots of players here that I can pull for. 6. Dodgers - Meh 7. Red Sox - I like the Red Sox, but have had enough of their fans 8. Cubs - My most hated franchise in all of sports, I'd rather see anyone. As someone mentioned above, the thought of the White Sox sweeping the Cubs is pretty appealing...
Out-of towner?!?!? He was born and raised in old Milwaukee, played for the Milwaukee Braves, and has been the Brewers' radio guy since day one. In a lot of ways I think he is Milwaukee personified--not the prettiest fella on the block but a hard worker full of great spirit and good cheer. I was referring to me now living outside of Milwaukee having spent the first 23 years of my life there, and that, I think at times some people take Ueck for granted.
Same here. I'm betting it's sold out, and that link is either a orphan they forgot to remove, or a placeholder if they were to get more in (although I've read that there are no more). I really want that hat, but I am not paying $250 on ebay. Good golly.
Eric Gagne could have given up, mailed it in, use whatever term you like; at many points throughout the year. He was booed unmercifully, he had to have had his confidence shot many times. He didn't give up, he did deliver some significant innings all year, and his buying those 5K tix I thought showed what a class guy he is. I'm pulling hard for him to have a huge moment during the playoffs.
Thankful that the Brewers are playing in October. Thankful that I can read/watch the playoff previews and have an actual rooting interest. Realistic that the Brewers have as legit a shot as anyone. Realistic that a healthy Sheets would be much better. Realistic that Philly is a damn fine team and could spank us in 3. Disappointed that I will be on an airplane for 14 hours Sunday flying to Munich, and that if it comes down to a game 5, I will be in Munich desperately finding a way to listen to it over the Internet. No cockiness at all here. Overall, still giddy and listening to the call of Braun's HR every 10 minutes.
Thank you. I'm crying like a little girl listening to this. I've heard the TV call, but that was the first time I heard Ueck's call. I know Ueck gets crap at times, but for an out of towner, he is still as much of this franchise as anyone and... Thank you again for this.
