  1. FYI Congresswoman Giffords survived, but she is still in critical condition.
  2. I forgot to add what I have already done. I dusted each of the detectors as well as resetting the breakers. No luck with either solution. ----- Continued here: viewtopic.php?f=67&t=30509
  3. The smoke detectors in my house have been chirping for the past few days. We have replaced all of the batteries, and they still chirp. The detectors are all hard-wired together with the battery backup. They don't constantly chirp. Detector #1 will chirp. A few seconds will pass and detector #2 will chirp, a few seconds go by and then detector #3 will chirp, etc, etc. After all 6 chirp, they will be quiet. About an hour will pass, and the detectors will repeat this cycle. They will be quiet for about 3 hours, and the cycle will repeat again. Short of calling an electrician, does anyone have any other ideas?
  4. What's the value of the Pat Richter University of Wisconsin bobblehead? It's my understanding that the bobblehead was only given out to UW Athletic Department employees.
  5. Another vote for Ted Davis. He does all of the Bucks road games by himself. 2+ hours of just Ted and he is rock-steady.
  6. Congrats to Anthony Pettis.? Amazing head kick in the 5th round.? Here is the ESPN highlights just in case the video above is removed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEm4c33W4QU
  7. Ted Davis didn't say a word about traveling on the radio broadcast either.
  8. You can also try http://www.800notes.com to see if other people around the country are receiving the same phone calls.
  9. I went to Kopp's for the first time this weekend. I met a good friend of mine and her two daughters there. One question: Where are the chairs? They have some tables, but no chairs. It's really hard to feed a couple of youngsters with no chairs available.
  10. I agree. There is a storyline in the novels that I suspect the show will follow. I've got a pretty strong feeling that's what was whispered in Rick's ear.
  11. ?? My favorite sports montage of all time.
  12. Sprecher root beer. Also Sprecher Apple Soda is delicious. It's seasonal, so get some now.
  13. Have you contacted your county's human services division. They need to know what is going on. Hopefully they will open an investigation and custody can be taken away from the dad. However, until that time, you have to follow the court's order. Interfering with a child custody agreement is a crime. When it is the kids' turn to go see their father, they have to go unless there are exigent circumstances. (Dad is drunk, out of control, etc. Even in that case, the police need to be involved.) Additionally, the police cannot take reports just to "get them on file" or to "get something on record." The officer taking the report has no idea if you are telling the truth, so a report will not be done just to document an action. Finally, UTIs and yeast infections do not automatically equal sexual abuse. I understand you have your suspicions, but be careful about making accusations. Hopefully you can get human services involved and the kids can be placed in a better situation.
  14. You read my thoughts perfectly. Not only do you have the stereotypical southern redneck (racist and a wifebeater), but you also have stereotypes of other races as well. The Asian character drives a sports car and the African-American character has the name T-Dog. T-Dog??
  15. Maybe it was the Sklar Brothers podcast I was thinking of. I subscribe to both and Swardson was recently a guest on both as well.
  16. Nick Swardson was doing an interview on the Adam Carolla podcast a couple weeks back and Kato's name came up. Apparently, Nick is good friends with Kato. According to him, Kato is a huge fan of all Wisconsin sports.
  17. Great first episode. Intelligent dialogue and real drama. (The scene with Morgan, the rifle, and his wife. Wow.) The only downer I can see is that the first season is only 6 episodes.
  18. I tried to order a sign today. When I click on "add to cart," nothing shows up. I wonder if they are sold out. EDIT: I can add the Reds and Marlins LED signs (the only other 2 teams offered) to my shopping cart with no problems.
  19. I've never read the comics, but I cannot wait for the TV show. It looks awesome. I'm also enjoying the heck out of Dead Set on IFC. It's a British miniseries that has been playing all week on IFC. (There is a marathon on Halloween.) The premise is that there is a zombie outbreak and they attack the Big Brother UK house. Tonight is the finale.
  20. It was voted on, and the vote failed.
  21. Today in the mail I got a package. Inside was a Halo Reach hooded sweatshirt. Apparently I won one of the Mountain Dew/Halo Reach drawings. They never notified me, so I assumed I hadn't won anything. I remember the contest started Labor Day weekend, and I had collected about 30 codes by the time the contest started. I used about 27 or 28 codes on an Xbox 360 package. I think I only used one or two codes on the hoodie.
  22. Is this an updated version of Night of Too Many Stars? My DirecTV program guide listed it as the 2008 version, so I did not watch it.
  23. MG ended up undefeated this year and only gave up 13 points all season. Yeah, they are good.
  24. Monopoly is back at McDonald's, and everyone at my work goes crazy thinking they are going to win big. (There was a million dollar winner at the McDonald's in Sauk City a few years back.) If people only knew how bad the odds are to win, they wouldn't play so much. According to the official McDonald's Monopoly website, the odds of collecting all 4 railroads and winning the EA Sports Trip is: 1 in 1,200,022,974. That's insane. I love to travel, so I enter online contests all the time. I've never won anything from any travel websites, but I have won an online drawing in the past, and I don't even remember entering. It was about 2 years ago, and UPS delivers this huge box at my doorstep. Inside was supplies and toys for a My Little Pony party for 10 kids. The box was stuffed with My Little Pony toys, decorations, computer games, you name it. I think the retail value was around $250. My daughter was 8 years old, and out of the My Little Pony stage. I must have entered a couple years earlier when she still played with them. One other time I won an instant win prize. This was probably around 1988, and I opened up a pack of Bubble Yum and saw "YOU WIN" on the wrapper. The wrapper did not say what I won, only that it was a Masters of the Universe prize. I loved He-Man and Masters of the Universe back then. A couple months later, I got a package in the mail. It was a lone Masters of the Universe figure. It was Stinkor, and I already had him. I was happy nonetheless.
  25. Getting back on topic... I've had AT&T for almost 4 years, but have not had any problems whatsoever with their phones. My latest phone is a touch screen LG Vu. I've dropped it numerous times. The screen is scratched, but that's because I don't take care of it. I hate AT&T because of their coverage. Their coverage maps are an absolute joke. I supposedly live in the "best" coverage area, yet my calls are dropped all the time. I usually get only 2-3 bars, and often have to go outside to get reception. My full-time job is in their "moderate" coverage area, which must mean no reception at all. Finally, one of my part-time jobs is in their "good" coverage area, which also means anywhere from 0-2 bars.
