  1. I think so. I placed an order with the website that rwa12 supplied, and they were out of stock of what I ordered. I was sent a spreadsheet of what they did have in stock, and it was almost completely different from what they had on the website.
  2. Wow, this is my favorite story of the bunch. My only real Brewers encounter was with Gorman Thomas about 3 years back. He was signing autographs at the grand opening of the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Monona. He happily signed my bobblehead and gave me a couple of Brewers caps. One thing about Gorman, the guy cusses like a sailor. I knew that he used to live in Wales, because I used to see him driving around with his personalized license plates while visiting relatives in the area. I remembered he had STORMN and he told me he also had SPIKE20. He told me that he no longer gets personalized plates since they kept getting stolen.
  3. So, does anyone here have the credit line and is willing to put together the order? My wife would kill me if I charged $500+ to our credit card, even if I had the cash to cover the bill when it arrived.
  4. You can scratch this. I received an email saying that all of the Pilots jerseys are out of stock. According to the spreadsheet that I received, the only Brewers jerseys that they have in stock are Braun and Fielder.
  5. i went with a Barry Sanders, and it came out to $38. Why such a huge difference? I haven't received my Paypal invoice yet, so I'm not sure. My order status reads like this: Shopping Cart Total : 16 USD Postage Costs: 23.51 USD Total Payable: 23.51 USD So, I'm not sure if my total due is $23.51, or that is just the shipping charge.
  6. I'd follow whatever community the Brewers moved to. I imagine I would become a Las Vegas ____ fan or whatever city is next in line for a major league team. If the Brewers were ever contracted, I'm sure I'd be a Twins fan. I have a feeling that FS Wisconsin would show Twins games like the show Wild games now.
  7. I just purchased a Seattle Pilots jersey from the website rwa provided. With shipping, the total came to under $25, and they accept Paypal. According to the website, the jersey should arrive in a week. I'll keep everybody posted on the quality.
  8. Rolling Thunder
  9. Just checked the schedule, and Six Flags is closed on August 30th. Seems a little strange to me, but I don't know when the Illinois kids go back to school. Good thing I checked, because I could have had a Wally World moment upon arrival.
  10. I'm going on August 30th. I'm taking my 7-year old with me. He's coaster crazy. The only drawback is that he is about 51-52 inches, which eliminates a bunch of rides. My favorite is still Batman: The Ride. I agree with the earlier poster that said Dark Knight was a horrible disappointment. They tried to make it more of an attraction like the Disney parks.
  11. I'd rent a cabin or house, maybe in Door County. You'll be right in the midst of fall colors. You'd be if the off-season for rentals, so prices are cheaper. I came across this website yesterday while looking for a cabin in Door County. http://www.vrbo.com/ I agree that it will be very difficult to get that many Packers tickets all seated together, but I think your out-of-state friends would love it if you can swing it. You only turn 30 once. If you rent a house or cabin, I'd see if you can rent one of those inflatable bounce houses. Maybe, that's just me, though.
  12. How do you get tickets to the Toyota Tundra Territory at Miller Park?
  13. Instead of starting a new thread, I found this old one. I too was wondering what podcasts everyone listens to. I'm a huge Adam Carolla fan, so I listen to The Adam Carolla show religiously. I also listen to the Loveline podcast and the Film Vault on a regular basis. Are there any really good sports podcasts? I can't stand the PTI crew, so that is a no for me. Spider and the Henchman is horrible. (I can't stand listening to Kevin Hench tell stories about his high school basketball glory days.) How is Bill Simmons? I was thinking about giving him a try. I'm also looking for good movie podcasts and other funny podcasts. Thank you.
  14. Bah! Give me the old orange County Stadium scoreboard any day. :-)
  15. I've got family in Georgia, and my in-laws have told me that employers down south absolutely love hiring people from the Midwest due to our work ethic. If you have spent some time down south, you know how bad customer service can be.
  16. IMO, learning Spanish would make you much more employable. There are many fields of business that would enjoy having someone bilingual on their roster.
  17. You had no recourse? Sure you did. It's called a not guilty plea and a trial. What day of the month? I'm guessing it's the 3rd Thursday of the month, because that's quota day, unless it's a leap year. If it's a leap year, then quota day is the 2nd Wednesday of the month, unless it's a full moon. In that case, quota day is on the last day of the month. Unless it's February...
  18. Sheethead, you've referenced "quota day" 3 times in recent posts. I would love to hear you explain what quota day is. Let me guess, you have a friend whose brother is a cop who told you that cops have to write xx tickets a month, right? Even better, did the same friend tell you that cops get a bonus based on how many tickets they write? Except for attractive 18 year old females, because they never get tickets. Reference your second line that I quoted, does that mean Matt Kenseth can drive 150 MPH on the freeway based on his skills? I'd love to see the judges face when you tell him/her that you were exceeding the speed limit due to your driving skills.
  19. It's not extortion because nobody is forcing you to pay the higher fine in exchange for the zero point violation. Nobody is forcing you to plead no contest. You have choices. That's why it's not extortion. To TheBruce, the officer who stopped you 8 years ago was mistaken or perhaps you misunderstood him. The officer does not have to show you the radar. I can promise that it has been like that for at least 11 years.
  20. The reason many officers do not reduce the speed on the citation is because they are told by the municipal judges and local attornies not to do so. For instance, say that an officer stops a vehicle for 20 over and he writes the citation for 16 over. The same subject can then go to court and try to get it reduced even farther. Unless the officer specifically lists on the citation, his report, or in the narrative section on the back of the ticket, the judge or attorney has no idea what speed the subject was originally stopped for.
  21. You know you can ask to see the radar gun reading, right? They have to indicate how they calculated your speed, and 90% of the time it is with a radar or laser. If they do it with some type of counting/distance method you can almost always fight that, especially if there is traffic around you. So the point is that if the ticket said you were going more than 20 over, you were. You can ask, but the officer has absolutely no requirement to show you the radar or laser. Most officers do not show you the reading due to officer safety factors. I wouldn't want a citizen sticking their head in my squad car where a rifle or shotgun is kept. Many, many, many times the officer does not even lock in the radar reading. It is not required. Many older radar units stop tracking the speed once the speed is locked in. Why lock in a speed at 70 if you can tell that the vehicle is still accelerating? The officer is required to estimate the suspect vehicle's speed, activate the laser/radar, and then track the speed for 3 seconds. There is no requirement to lock in the speed. Back to what nodakfan17 was saying. I agree that the original poster should take responsibility and pay up. It sounds like he is taking full responsibility for his mistake. However, if you know how to play the game, more power to you. In my opinion, it's like trying to get the best price on a used car.
  22. Wow, bitter much? You will be hard pressed to find ANY officer who will cut you a break for 20 over, clean record or not. Besides, there is no way for the officer who stopped you to know if you had been given 5 warnings prior to your stop. You were doing 20 over the posted limit. In some states (Virginia being one), you would have been physically arrested and taken to jail for reckless driving. Back to the original topic. It never hurts for you to show up to court, it can only help. There are no guarantees that the judge will reduce the fine or point amount. Some judges will reduce them in exchange for community service. Did you get an instructional pamphlet with your citation? If so, see if you can plead not guilty via mail. You will then be contacted by the prosecuting attorney for what is called a pre-trial conference. That's where you can wheel and deal about dollar amounts and fines.
  23. Yes, but those additional links really only refer to the Kansas City station as well as some anonymous poster on an internet message board. I'd love to see it, but I'm still not buying it.
  24. I haven't seen the Texas / A&M talks to the Big Ten anywhere besides the Kansas City TV website. Nothing on Rivals, ESPN, or Orangebloods. I don't believe it.
