  1. Where are they at? The show is at the Miramar. The only match announced is Quack vs. Colt Cabana. The semis for the annual Young Lions tourney will also take place. http://www.chikarapro.com/aug-17-2012.php
  2. They can't even call themselves the NWO. The WWE owns the right to the name. I can't see it happening. On a positive note, Chikara Pro is coming to Milwaukee on August 17th. I had to work when ROH came to town, but I am off for the Chikara Pro show. My 9-year old son isn't really into wrestling, but I think he would like Chikara with all of their crazy characters.
  3. With all of the hype and speculation, I knew I was going to be letdown by the 1,000th episode of Raw. Hated the payoff to the wedding storyline. Why can't AJ be married to Daniel Bryan and the next GM of Raw too? There is speculation that the group of men in white outfits DB was talking to prior to the wedding were from a mental health facility, and his plan was to marry AJ and then have her committed. Got a chuckle of Mae Young and her "son." Enjoyed the first 5 minutes or so of the DX Reunion. I was quite happy the New Age Outlaws and X-Pac were brought back. Loved the APA appearance and especially the clothesline from hell. You could tell Sid was itching to do more, but held himself back. Lita looked fantastic. I disliked the HHH/Lesnar segment. I really don't like HHH or Stephanie at all. When Stephanie was going off on how Heyman failed in WCW, ECW, and WWE, I was hoping he would have fired back on how she and her daddy screwed up the potentially biggest money angle of all time. Sad we didn't get a Sable run-in too. I would have loved to see Brock destroy HHH.
  4. It's a long read, but this is what I refer to when I have to deal with landlord/tenant disputes. The Wisconsin Way. A Guide for Landlords and Tenants. http://datcp.wi.gov/uploads/consumer/pdf/wisconsinwayweb.pdf
  5. I bought the television during Black Friday this past year, so it is very new. I haven't verified the output settings yet. I will try that. Thank you.
  6. Here's a general Blu-Ray question for those in the know. At work, we have a Samsung 46 inch 1080p LCD HDTV with a Samsung 5.1 Channel Blu-Ray home theater system. When I have watched a Blu-Ray disc at work, the picture is surreal. It is so lifelike. You can almost see the depth in the picture. At home, I have a Zenith 50 inch 1080p Plasma HDTV with a cheaper Toshiba Blu-Ray player. I'm disappointed in the picture quality of Blu-Rays at home. The picture is comparable to a high-definition television broadcast, and nothing close to the picture I've seen at work. So, how come I don't have the same quality picture at home that I do at work? Is it the tv or the Blu-Ray player? Does the quality of the HDMI cables make that much of a difference? I am using a Radio Shack brand HDMI cable at home. Product links below. Thanks. 7. Very cool story. It sounds like your scene is part of an important storyline, so hopefully it makes the film. It's sure to be in the DVD extras if it does get cut.
  8. I've seen two movies so far this "summer" movie season. Both were really good. The first isn't technically a summer 2012 movie, or even a 2012 movie altogether. It's The Raid: Redemption, a 2011 Indonesian movie. It premiered in the U.S. in March, and finally made it to Madison in late April. The movie featured some of the best fight scenes I have ever seen. It's one of those movies where you can just turn off your brain and enjoy. The others is The Avengers. Amazing, just amazing. I wasn't sure how good the movie was going to be with Loki as the main villian, but Tom Hiddleston was fantastic in his role. You don't need to be a fan of superheroes to love this movie. Dark Knight Rises has a tall hill to climb to beat the Avengers both in box office money and film quality. Besides DKR, I'm also looking forward to seeing the Spider-Man reboot, Ted, The Neighborhood Watch, and The Expendables 2.
  9. Taking a line from Jason Statham in the movie Safe: "I didn't know a trachea testicle could break."
  10. Didn't someone (Richie Sexson, maybe) miss a game due to a strained neck after trying on a ball cap that was too small?
  11. This is Husky Harris' new gimmick. It's obviously a Waylon Mercy/Cape Fear Max Cady rip-off, but it has potential. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k07XrroeVpM
  12. The honest answer is nitrous oxide. I HATE going to the dentist. Hate it. I get anxious and my stomach gets upset if I know there is going to be any drilling involved. My last two procedures (outside of cleaning) have been for a root canal and a tooth being pulled. I had nitrous both times and everything was fine. The gas took the edge off. They could have cut my leg off and I wouldn't have cared.
  13. It's going to take some time to get used to Joe. Very slow cadence and delivery. He also has a lot of ums and ahs when he speaks. Very baseball-smart though.
  14. I got goosebumps from the pop Brock received when his music hit. Amazing. It reminded me of the pop Hulk Hogan received at Wrestlemania 21 when he saved Eugene from Hassan and Daivari. As far as WWE pushing new stars, they have to learn to create them properly. The four seasons of NXT have not created any new stars. Daniel Bryan is finally over with the crowd. He didn't get over because of his past with Japan or ROH. He didn't get over because of his feud with the Miz. He got over due to a silly catchphrase and gimmick. Hey, whatever works. Chavo Guerrero Jr. got over riding a stick pony, Norman Smiley danced the Big Wiggle, Scotty 2 Hotty did the worm, and Perry Saturn had Moppy. I hope they run with the Mick Foley/Dean Ambrose angle. That's really good stuff.
  15. I love this site. I love this forum. However, the Shea Vucinich article from June of 2010 is still the top story on the main page. If I were a new visitor to the website, I might not click on the Fan Forum tab thinking the website is dead.
  16. Fly into Boston. Spend a couple days there. Make sure to catch a Red Sox game. Walk the Freedom Trail. The Freedom Trail is 17 historical sites (USS Constitution, Boston Common, Paul Revere House, etc.) and most are free. If your wife is into baseball, you can rent a car and then drive to Cooperstown. It's less than a 4 hour drive from Boston. You can spend a couple days there. From Cooperstown, you can check out the sites in northern New England (especially the Lake Champlain region) or continue onto Maine. You could spend a week in Maine alone. A visit to Acadia National Park is a must.
  17. Some of the writing is still terrible. Herschel and crew decide to defend their farm. Fine, but why didn't they take up up a position of advantage and pick off the zombies that way? Zombies can't climb. Instead, they stand at ground level and fire at the approaching walkers or drive in circles around the zombies and shoot from a moving vehicle. Also, just how many rounds did Herschel have in his shotgun? It takes time to reload a shotgun, but he was firing off shots repeatedly without stopping. Why did that kid stop the RV in the middle of a group of large zombies and make no effort to secure the door? Just too many stupid decisions. On the positive side, I marked out when I saw Michonne. I'm guessing they haven't cast her role yet, hence never seeing her face. I wouldn't worry about the armless zombies. They don't amount to much.
  18. The overall storyline is slower, but they are injecting new things/things in different places to liven it up. The 2nd half of the season was pretty fast paced, IMO. Of course it probably seemed that way because of the sluggish pace of the 1st half. ^^ This. They were simply treading water the first half of this season. The plot was not progressing at all. At least they are moving the plot along with the past few episodes. Just a couple things: 1.) In the comics they cover humans becoming zombies at death whether or not they were bitten. Comic spoiler, but Rick went back and dug up Shane and found that he had turned. I'm still about 10 issues behind, so I don't know if they have explained the cause in the comics yet. 2.) Carl has little to no firearm experience, yet he fires off a perfect headshot at 15 yards? 3.) I think they have spent enough time on the farm. Hopefully the finale sees the group seeking different shelter.
  19. I recently went back and watched Punk's shoot promo (the one that sparked this thread) and then his follow-up appearance at Comic-con. What happened to that angle? It started off so hot. Then somehow HHH became interjected in the angle which led to Kevin Nash and mysterious texts. Yawn.
  20. ESPN and MLB are making it sound like the only reason Braun won the appeal was because the sample was kept in the technician's fridge over the weekend. I recall reading an article stating that the seal on the samples was intact when it arrived at the testing facility. If that is true, I find it very hard to believe the chain of custody issue is the sole reason Braun won the appeal. Somewhat related, the only place in Wisconsin that tests blood samples for the presence of alcohol in OWI cases is the State Lab of Hygeine in Madison. That means if an officer in Ashland arrests someone for OWI and a legal blood draw is completed, the State Lab of Hygeine will do the analysis. Obviously, the sample will be mailed and not hand-delivered. Officers are directed to mail the sample via the United States Postal Service. There is no chain of custody, whatsoever. An officer will drop the blood evidence kit in a mailbox or deliver it directly to the post office. The blood evidence kit will change hands multiple times when being sorted and delivered. What matters is: 1.) The phlebotomist drew the blood and sealed it in the officer's presence 2.) The blood evidence kit was properly sealed and 3.) The kit itself and blood samples inside were still sealed (and untampered) when the State Lab of Hygeine tested the samples. I know this isn't an apples to apples comparison since MLB's anti-doping policy includes specifics about the chain of custody, but there has to be more than what ESPN and MLB are reporting. Can't wait for the Will Carroll article.
  21. Remind me never to play catch with the Miz.
  22. The fantasy booker in me would like to see Daniel Bryan win by escaping over the top of the cage. At some point in the match, A.J. would return and secure the cage door with another chain/padlock. Since the refs wouldn't have the key for that lock, it would force Big Show and Henry to try to climb the cage to win. Going back a few pages, someone mentioned Jim Ross. I first became a fan of Jim Ross while watching Bill Watts' UWF. Channel 4 out of Milwaukee played Watts' syndicated show every Saturday (or maybe it was Sunday) morning in 86-87. My dad would go to his Sheesphead card club at the local bar and take me with. The bar always had the UWF show on the tv. Ross was fantastic. I enjoyed Ross more when he still had his strong Oklahoma accent. The crowd was always red-hot which added to the excitement of the show. It seemed like every show had a cliffhanger ending, with the main event still going on when the credits rolled. You had to tune in the following week to see what happened. According to JR's blog, the WWE has attempted to purchase Watts' video library multiple times, but Watts' son and ex-wife won't sell it. They currently run an online store where you can purchase DVDs of the old Mid-South and UWF shows. http://www.universalwrestling.com/ On a somewhat related note, it looks like WWE purchased the Global Wrestling Federation library. More childhood memories, but I remember rushing home from school in the early 90s to catch the daily Global show on ESPN. Perhaps we will finally get a Booker T DVD release.
  23. My ringtone is the Braun home run vs. the Cubs. My phone records audio, so I played the call over the computer speakers and recorded it. I was able to assign the audio file as a ringtone.
  24. We bought our daughter a Kindle Fire for Christmas. Reading e-books is much easier on the eyes with the original Kindle when compared to the Fire. Also, the Fire's web browser is slow. Terribly slow. I have no problem with speed when I connect to our wireless network with my laptop or Ipod. It seems like the Fire's web browser takes about 5x as long to load.
