  1. Peralta can be added to Definitely out. With the Colorado Springs season over, I expect Freddy to be recalled, but he threw two innings yesterday.
  2. There’s a lot of truth in this, but having “juice” in the building for regular season MLB games is rare, and we should appreciate it. Think of how boring our schedule would be if we changed divisions with the Twins. I think the rivalry of lack thereof has actually gotten to the point where it makes the Brewers better. Think of how the lack of focus has cost the Brewers in home games against bottom feeders (the infamous take a 4-0 first inning lead and then fall asleep games). There’s no losing focus in these heated games. It will also help the Brewers in a playoff series, regardless of opponent. They’ll have played in playoff atmosphere games, which some of the Cubs and Cardinals games have felt like.
  3. Sept. 4 - Definitely out: Hader, Woodruff, Guerra. Possibly out: Knebel.
  4. The big question is, what rivalries has Hamels had in the past? Rangers / Blue Jays? Phillies / Marlins?
  5. I'm not a fan of the Cardinals, but their "been there factor" is 1,000x higher than the Cubs'. Even if you don't have class, at least act like you do.
  6. Soria threw 33 pitches early Sunday morning. Counsell may want to give him another day. I agree that Cedeno may face one guy.
  7. Sept. 3 - Definitely out: Woodruff, Guerra. Possibly out: Cedeno, Soria
  8. In his last 4 starts, Guerra has pitched 14.1 innings and given up 23 runs and 38 baserunners. If the Brewers miss the playoffs by one game, the decision to start Guerra today will go down as one of the most baffling in franchise history.
  9. Be careful. We’re more likely to be competing with the Braves for a WC spot than the Cubs for the division. The good news is one of them will lose!
  10. The league should just be transparent and save time and say a Brewer opponent has the right to call their guy safe or a Brewer out twice a game, without even wasting time on watching a replay.
  11. Albers is owed $2.5 mil next season, so won’t be DFA’d. It’s too bad QTC threw 2.1 innings last night. Otherwise he could have been added to the 40 and called up today.
  12. Expect Barnes to be called up for the Thursday afternoon game in Cincinnati. Most other AAA options three multiple innings in the past couple days.
  13. The Brewers and Astros are the only two orgs with teams at the MLB, AAA, and AA levels all at least 10 games above .500.
  14. Please tell me that should be in blue. Because otherwise ... barf. DFA Schoop and replace him with a chair in the batters box (who could potentially work the pitcher or even draw a walk). Is that better?
  15. After this morning’s marathon, Counsell said no roster moves are expected to address bullpen depth. Part of the thinking is likely that Anderson and Guerra are likely available in long relief in an emergency.
  16. After flipping between the Packers and Brewers games, after Lyles scored a Brewer tossed his yellow hat on the field, and I thought the run was going to be negated by a holding call.
  17. Every Brewer run tonight has come on a first-pitch home run. Still frustrating, though.
  18. Harvey is scheduled to pitch against the Cubs today. If the Harvey acquisition occurs, I would expect him to instead start on Tuesday, in Cincinnati.
  19. Who gets removed from the rotation if Harvey is acquired? Not Chacin or Anderson. Hard to remove Peralta after yesterday’s 7 shutout innings. Miley has done well enough to make another few starts. Is it Guerra, who has a mix of bad performance and bad luck recently?
