  1. Fuel cells are good one to check out if you want to look at alternate energy. FCEL
  2. weed stocks going through the roof today
  3. usa!
  4. In a perfect world, I'd buy a house with an apartment over the garage or a mother in law cottage/carriage house in the back. I would love to rent out something like that on Air BnB. I don't think I'd want to rent out one place while living somewhere else though. I'd for sure want a management company to take care of things if that was the case.
  5. People are horrible at making decisions now when the impact of that decision won't be felt for many years. This has been shown/proven many times over. We are built to live in the here and now - worked great when we were hunter/gatherers but not anymore.
  6. I read Nudge by Richard Thaler a few months ago. He's a behavioral economist at Univ of Chicago (and won a Nobel). He says most people go with the default option when signing up for something. So if you have to "opt-in" to a retirement plan a lot of times people just won't "opt-in". He wants it to be "opt-out" so the default is you are automatically enrolled but you have to fill out a form to un-enroll. Certainly not the only reason people aren't saving but a simple change that can help.
  7. I thought that as well but then I checked on Chase and the only thing they listed was the age of my oldest credit card. I always thought it was average age. EVen so, I opened two credit cards in the last two years and my credit score didn't move.
  8. Credit score could take a very minor hit if you open a new card due to the credit check. But as long as you aren't getting credit checks up the wazoo you probably won't even notice it. Credit checks account for 5% of your credit score. Closing an account though can really ding you especially if it's a card you've had for a long time.
  9. One interesting thing about season 2 is that it's based on a real "city" outside of LA.
  10. I agree with FVBrewerfan - skip seasons 2, 3 of True Detective and watch The Wire (which is arguably a top five show of all time) I didn't hate season 2 as much as some people but it was a really slow burn to get to the actual case. Season 3 > season 2 but not anywhere near as good as season 1 and not anywhere near as good as any season of The Wire.
  11. The Queen's Gambit is really good.
  12. New subscribers can currently get Hulu for $1.99 a month for the first year. Deal ends on Monday I think.
  13. If anyone is a sucker for those Dodo animal videos that you find on social media, there's a British show on Prime called The Dog Rescuers that's basically the same thing. I guess there's like 7 seasons but they only have season 5 available.
  14. No. But since Prime gives you other extras (shipping, music, etc..), it is a good deal anyway. We had Prime for the shipping since we use Amazon a lot. The channel is a bonus for us but they have some good shows - Fabulous Mrs Maisel, Bosch, are good. The Boys is very good.
  15. If you stick with just season 1 of True Detective you'll love it.
  16. If you stick with just season 1 of True Detective you'll love it.
  17. I think it's technically King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters and yeah it's a terrific movie.
  18. I'm not convinced this whole "internet" is here to stay. Seems like a fad to me.
  19. When I had Sprint it was great everywhere except anyplace in WI north of Madison. It was like a black hole.
  20. I love the cinematography and set design. It's really a beautifully shot show. It's not without flaws as you mentioned (too dialog heavy IMO) but I enjoy it.
  21. If Netflix would drop shows one week at a time instead of all at once they could have had some serious appointment viewing the last few years. Stranger Things, Tiger King, Ozark just to name a few. Not sure why they don't as that seems to be a great way to build buzz.
  22. We watched Palm Springs last night. I enjoyed it The Old Guard was fine for a lazy Sunday afternoon. Kind of on the level of John Wick.
  23. Gary Larson created a bunch of new Far Side cartoons: https://www.thefarside.com/ There's only like four of them. So don't get too excited.
