  1. We might get up to a foot here in Chicago. Good thing I got the car washed on Sunday. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like we'll be getting THUNDERSNOW.
  2. If steroids did no long term damage, then they should be as legal. I mean if guys are taking them to bounce back from injury isn't that a good thing? Don't we WANT guys like Braun and Cano playing as many games as they can?
  3. Aren't most scouting reports written like that?
  4. Let's give it more than two games before we evaluate how good or bad this trade was. This.....well, it was a bad trade but let's not lament the loss of Toby Harris just yet.
  5. What happened was UW's best three scorers couldn't get their hands on the ball in position to score. Jackson started hogging the ball, and turning it over, and Bo yanked Marshall twice almost immediately after he came in. I'm pretty sure Dekker only had 1 second half shot before the final minute or so, and that was on an offensive rebound. I don't think hustle had anything to do with it, it was horrible defensive adjustments (Yes, when they ball screen 10 feet from the basket, you need to switch and step up and contest the shot Ryan Evans) and once again showing the inability of anyone other than Dekker to throw the ball into the post (seriously, why is that?). It was not Jackson's fault no one moved to receive the ball. They missed a ton of open shots. It was just a lazy effort all around. Chalk it up to not being ready to play and thinking you can coast when you've got a lead.
  6. Bernie Pleskoff provides a thorough (and very complimentary) scouting report on Brewers SS, Jean Segura: http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20130304&content_id=42247870&vkey=news_mil&c_id=mil Some highlights: "Segura has a tremendous future as a multi-tooled middle infielder. His current game is just fine, but his upside is outstanding. We haven't even begun to see the talent Segura brings to his game." "Segura's speed certainly doesn't take a back seat to his stellar hitting ability. Above-average Major League-quality defense, sufficient arm strength and throwing accuracy are all part of his game. That current lack of raw power may be the only thing that keeps him from being a true five-tool player. "
  7. Greg Stiemsma had about 12 foot range. He's still in the NBA.
  8. http://www.gopherhole.com/news_article/show/133593?referrer_id=388419-gopherhole-com-news-archive Gopher Hole: Have you had a chance to go to any college games this winter? Diamond Stone: Yes, my first cousin (Ryan Evans) plays for Wisconsin. I went there for their game against Michigan State. I visited their and Marquette. I go to Marquette a lot.
  9. Aramis Ramirez or Rickie Weeks: whoever starts off slower
  10. Stone's cousin is Ryan Evans.
  11. Hayes and Brown are steals, IMO and both might play next year. I'm guessing they'll go with a three guard lineup of Gasser, Brust, and Jackson (then Kaminsky and Dekker). Then it's just finding minutes for Marshall and Koenig. I'll be curious to see how everything plays out. For 2014 they also have a 6'7" kid out of Illinois but he is more of swing man ala Dekker. And as for feeling bad about the Minnesota game, I think beating Michigan sort of evened that one out. Without that prayer from Brust they lose that one.
  12. I don't mind him shooting as long as he isn't forcing it which he's been doing a lot of. Tonight was more in the flow of the offense and while he still missed some open jumpers I don't mind him taking those because he was really good at hitting them last year. They could use him in the tourney. And Sam Dekker is good.
  13. I never followed hockey growing up so never really had an allegiance to anyone. Thought it'd be fun to join the crowd in at least one sport in this city. And lots of people root for Wisconsin and the Cubs. Lots root for Green Bay and the Cubs. Lots root for the Bears and Wisconsin. Not that unusual.
  14. Very impressive start to a sprint of a season. Points from every game, winning the vast majority of them. Would like to see that dominance that runs through June. 14 - 0 - 3 At least a point in each game to start the year. A new NHL record. Here come the 'Hawks!
  15. I like this move simply because the implosion on RealGM will be entertaining.
  16. Latest rumor is Ellis and Udoh for Smith and Devin Harris. Although ESPN is saying Ellis is not included in any Smith talks.
  17. Combine that with the insanity that is new TV money, and the Brewers are quite possibly headed for a loooonnng spell of being awful. The more I analyze this, the more I think Melvin's leadership has run this organization into the ground. It won't show in '13, or maybe even '14. But after that, unless the next two drafts are all-time great drafts, this org. is in deep doodoo. Not that it's apples to apples given the different financial climates, but the big difference between Ted Thompson and Doug Melvin is Thompson's ability/willingness to drop a guy while he's still technically valuable. Melvin seems to hang on thinking "If I can get one more year out of Randy Wolf...".
  18. I hate Crean and I hate the MSU fan base. I guess ideally I wanted Crean ejected pre-game and then IU to blow out MSU. Oladipo is a stud. Too bad he's played himself into the lottery and out of reach for the Bucks...unless they continue to tank of course.
  19. A new weather site (Not safe for work due to language): Great new weather site!
  20. After Gasser's injury I thought finishing .500 in conference would have been an amazing achievement. Can't believe they are still sort of in the running for the title (although not likely to happen). Bo just said, well our offense might struggle but we will shut any one down and keep it close. If they could be just average offensively they have potential to go on a run in the tourney with that defense. Man, if Gasser hadn't gotten hurt....oh well.
  21. Could use Batman too (Think that was his username. Bill Batterman?)
  22. Blackhawks. That is all.
  23. 4.5 years between posts. Impressive! Welcome back. Thoughts on Brady Clark?
  24. Regarding Law...see my sig.
