  1. Rogers is dealing: 4IP 1ER 1BB 8K's.
  2. I don't know if he throws hard enough to consider it retaliation.
  3. I realize it's a really small sample but since the all star break Taylor Green's line is .324/.400/.647
  4. The fact that Keith Law dislikes this deal makes me like it all the more.
  5. Her groom to be was Hugh Grant right? That was a great episode.
  6. Who cares? Trade them for A ball prospects. Wayne Franklin was traded for Carlos Villanueva.
  7. I would think the town of Surprise could come up with a much catchier team name than Rafters. Options: Surprise Party Surprise Attack Surprise Surprise Surprise (for fans of Gomer Pyle)
  8. I would say they are more like the Packers without the resurgence. The dominated the NHL in the 60's winning 4 Stanley Cups but have won only one division since in 99-00. And similar to Green Bay, a major award/trophy is named after a team legend. Conn Smythe (who served in both World Wars) was a longtime owner of the Leafs and the MVP trophy of the Stanley Cup bears his name.
  9. Why do you care if people are hopelessly optimistic?
  10. There's something to be said about rooting for an underdog. Another point in Toronto's favor - Original 6 member which will give you street cred. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  11. Rickie is showing just what kind of player he can be when healthy. He's probably top five offensive second basemen in all of baseball right now (as an aside, did you know he has the exact same OPS right now that he did last year when he was shelved? .857). I believe he's under Brewer control for one more season (someone correct me on that if need be). Is he a player you want long term? He'll be 28 in September and has a lengthy injury history - although they say his wrist sheath issue should not re-occur. His defense will never be gold glove caliber but he's improved since his rookie year and he's not the total liability he used to be. A better defensive first baseman might help. Also consider that you've got some prospects (Lawrie or maybe Gennett down the road) that could potentially replace him at a much cheaper price. Thoughts?
  12. Any word on when/if they'll shut Jake down? He's nearly doubled his innings total from last year.
  13. Root for the Maple Leafs. That town will go absolutely bonkers if they ever win a Cup.
  14. Agreed. His last ten games he's hitting .417/.465/.833 (1.298 OPS). His overall OPS is up to .821. It'd be really encouraging to see him get it in the mid or upper .800's by the end of the year.
  15. I remember his perfect game for the Tribe.
  16. If I did my math correctly, the Brewers organization as a whole is a full one game over .500 as of today.
  17. Yeah but the Bucks couldn't afford to wait to see how Sanders would do in Summer League before making a decision on a backup center.
  18. Agreed. He has a great slugging percentage but it's inflated from his triples which is a hard thing to repeat year after year. I think a more accurate gauge is if you took like 80% of his triples and made them doubles and then see what you have.
  19. Great point. Given Bogut's injury history it's a smart move to have a solid backup and it would have been asking a lot of Sanders to take on that role for a playoff team. And I'm not all that comfortable with a 6'7" backup center even if he plays bigger than that.
  20. And what if they got 1? Big risk to take for a team that has to turn over it's roster every four years due to budget constraints.
