  1. Big Ten Basketball - #2 RPI
  2. Interesting stuff. I'll have to check it out next time I'm in Milwaukee. I live in Chicago and am able to see a lot of improv down here (I've taken a lot of classes myself). Not sure if you're thinking about moving onward and upward but if you are Chicago is the improv capital of the world and a great place to cut your teeth.
  3. Aren't most defensive metrics based on the personal observation of some stringer in the press box?
  4. I think the Milwaukee guy's backstory will help him a great deal too. I believe his wife recently died in surgery.
  5. I ordered MLB.tv since I travel for work. It's pretty nice. When I'm home, I can hook the PC up to the TV and watch it on the big screen. Resolution wasn't so great but beats watching on a lap top. Maybe with increased definition this year that will improve.
  6. This guy was drafted in the 6th round by Buffalo in 2007.

  8. "This guy will jump into the Cubs booth the minute Pat Hughes retires. " Hughes is only 54 years old. It might be 10 years before he retires.
  9. Small point, but it was actually Witrado that reported this.
  10. No, you say that from YOUR perspective. It's ok to have that perspective, I just ask that you respect people that differ in opinion from you.
  11. Life is Beautiful is a great call. Try and get the version with subtitles as opposed to the English dubbed version. At least, that's my personal preference. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  12. Welcome to the life of an NBA GM.
  13. I guess it would help to know what 'theme' you are thinking of. When I read The Road I thought of the bond between Father and Son and how that bond gets them through the absolute worst that humanity/nature whatever has to throw at them - the post apocalyptic part was just the setting they were in.
  14. Michael Lewis (author of Moneyball) wrote a piece in the New York Times about the Houston Rockets' Shane Battier and what makes him so valuable despite the fact he doesn't get the 'glamour' stats of other NBA stars. Interesting read for stat heads: http://www.nytimes.com/20...tml?pagewanted=1&_r=2
  15. Nowitzki is a 'soft' 4 too.
  16. I would say Road to Perdition but that's rated R. I'll think about it some more.
  17. "I know the armchair G.M.'s won't think much of my opinion, but exactly who would they be clearing cap space for?" Sessions and Villanueva.
  18. "They aren't dumping salary to sign a free agent, they are dumping salary to re-sign Sessions and Villanueva, both of whom are currently better than Jefferson." You could make an argument that Travis Outlaw is better than Jefferson right now.
  19. Who are the other six teams that don't have representation?
  20. That would actually be a really cool idea if they could pull it off. I think most people are fooled at this point.
  21. I think it's pretty funny. It's minor league hockey - I'm glad they don't take themselves too seriously. But this caught my eye: if the Admirals score with 4:20 left on the clock in any period one lucky fan will win a season ticket for the 2009-10 season. The number 420 is often known as the police code for illegal drug use. Is this really the police code for weed? I thought the whole 4:20pm thing started at some california high school back in the 70's.
  22. Same with my blackberry curve.
  23. This is weird. http://www.nydailynews.co...xmet_roberto_alomar_.html
  24. A lot has been made about OBP as it relates to the lead off hitter. Some say Weeks needs to get on base more often to be successful in that spot in the lineup, others say Hart doesn't get on base enough to bat there, some have suggested batting Kendall leadoff to take advantage of his OBP. My question is: does OBP really matter for leadoff in particular? I think too much emphasis is placed on this spot in the order. Does a leadoff man lead off that many innings other than the first? Wouldn't you want a good overall hitter there since that guy is going to get more ABs per game? Your thoughts are appreciated.
  25. "Very few starters live in that NE quadrant that don't become a success" So there's hope for Jorge De La Rosa!
