  1. Agree 100%, selling high on Aquilar would be my first choice, if there was ever a regression candidate, Jesus is it. Braun at 1B also allows Santana to get regular ABs in RF and Yelich back in left with Keon as backup at all 3 OF. If Thames can't right the ship, platoon Braun and Shaw at 1B, Travis looks brutal when he faces a lefty.
  2. I remember reading something about a change in his swing and approach at the plate leading to last year's improvement, and that it is repeatable. But how many times have you read something like that, and it ends up not meaning a thing, though? Hopefully he reverts back to the light-hitting scrub he's always been. I read that as well, Descalso was exactly what I was looking for. Another versatile LH bat on a cheap contract who is able to hold down 2B until Hiura is up in June/July. Hate to say it but this was a good gamble by the Cubs.
  3. I will be the one this year, MLBTR is reporting the Dodgers are looking to trade Kemp, who is in his final year of his contract that will pay him $21.5 million. Braun has two years remaining on his, $19.mil for 2019 and $17.mil for 2020. I was all for it last year, unsure this year. I kinda doubt LA would do a one for one trade, at least I wouldn't. Would you try to swing a deal or let Braun retire a Brewer?
  4. Questions... 1) Do you want the Brewers to trade for Trevor Bauer? 2) If yes, what type of offer do you think it would realistically take for the Brewers to acquire Bauer? Lastly, the individual credited as being the first person to publicly share the details of the Moustakas trade sent this Tweet earlier this evening. Replace Burnes with Anderson and/or Davies and I would do it.
  5. Can't remember where I read it, but it states that Brantley is looking for 20+ per year.
  6. There you go! See, DS has addressed catching.Which one is next, 2B or a Starter?
  7. Don't let this die! I haven't laughed this much since the cheese sandwich thread of 04!
  8. I'll give credit when it's deserved, the Cards made a good trade for next season. Past that, it's a wait and see.
  9. Time for a cheese sandwich! Why in the world do I remember that?
  10. I don't think Stearns will go in for a TOR type. I believe he will once again, look at the lower end of the market. Bring in a couple of bullpen types, and one starter. I'm thinking a Derek Holland or another reclamation project like Drew Pomeranz, Shelby Miller or Clay Buchholz.
  11. If 2B is not handed to Perez with Saladino taking his part of utility. Then I would suspect a FA signing of a Neil Walker or Daniel Descalso type on a one year deal between 2 to 4 mil.
  12. Interesting article, in 2018 Bumgarner=Wade LeBlanc? WOW!
  13. Allow me to interject a little humor here, reading MLBTR, a Giants fan proposed the following trade. Bumgarner for, get ready, Keston Hiura, Corbin Burnes, Domingo Santana, and Corey Ray. Then goes on to state that "It’s not an overwhelming asking price for a pitcher like Bumgarner"! The Brown/Stokes package mentioned earlier would be OK for me, but the Giants are going to ask for Burnes, Woodruff or Peralta. For me, Burnes is off the table. Woodruff has really impressed me when given the chance to, again I would be reluctant to give him up for one year of MB. Leaving us Peralta, the young man has electric stuff, yes he was inconsistant, needs more development and polishing, but he has shown he deserves to be here. Starting material? IDK, but Peralta would be a devastating bookend to Hader at the least. Peralta for 1 year of Bumgarner? NO!! 2 years maybe, but we have waited years to be able to develop pitching in the system hanging our hopes on the Golds, Neaugebauers, and Hendricksons only to be left disappointed. Now we have 3! Each one has shown to be able to get outs at the major league level and now we are considering trading one for single year of a MB? I agree with jerichoholicninja, his velocity is down and he has a lot of wear on that arm. Just not worth it. Brown and Stokes is the max I would go.
  14. I'm a No on Burnes and Woodruff, very uncertain if I'd deal Peralta for MB. Brown and Stokes? Maybe, I'd have to think on it.
  15. I was thinking the same way, he would get a "prove it" deal between $10-$15 million for a year. Understand what the Braves are trying to do, but that's a lot cash for a hope he's healthy player.
  16. MLBTR states that the Mets want to “fill multiple holes with real impact" and are not interested in lower level prospects. They certainly have a opening at 1st, wonder if Jesus Aguilar would be of interest? Santana would be an upgrade in RF for them no doubt.
  17. How about Kratz's Creatures? No offense Manny!
  18. Understand that position Rollie, depends on how BSC is doing it. If he has his grandfathers discharge papers that list his awards and replaces them accordingly, he would be OK doing that. If he is guessing, based on say a photo, that's where your point could become relevant.
  19. A lot depends on what Stearns wants to do with Moustakes. If he lets him walk, Shaw goes back to 3rd and Jesus at 1st. If DS somehow retains Moustakes, then we have a huge chip in either Shaw or Jesus. One of them as a headliner, plus Peralta, Ray and another, could get you in the ballpark of a TOR starter. Mets are going to want a ransom for either Degrom or Thor.
  20. Are you doing this as a family keepsake honoring his service? If you are, that would fine as long as it was an accurate representation of what he was awarded.
  21. Almost!! Still a one-hitter is good enough for the win! Don't know about everyone else, I like to see ex-Brewers doing well, as long as it's not against us! Looking at you Scooter!
  22. Might as well remove Corbin from the list, he'll be a Yankee. Wainwright would be interesting, just to stick to the Cards!
  23. A lot of people say the joke is over, but I still find it funny!
  24. As a reformed dumpster diver, I can attest, you can find some good things, but mostly you wake up the next day and ask yourself "why did I get that!"
  25. In other news, Brewers sign Emilio Bonifacio. 6 years after I though he would be a good player to target! Dreams do come true!
