  1. Ok, makes sense. I 'm guessing it's the 6th inning of the Cincy game on the 3rd. Thanks guys. Bottom 6th: Cincinnati - B. Phillips singled - J. Votto safe at first on shortstop Y. Betancourt's fielding error, B. Phillips to second - B. Phillips to third, J. Votto to second on balk - S. Rolen hit sacrifice fly to center, B. Phillips scored - J. Gomes singled to shortstop, J. Votto to third - M. Stetter relieved B. Kintzler - J. Gomes stole second - J. Bruce popped out to left center - R. Hanigan homered to deep left, J. Votto and J. Gomes scored - P. Janish flied out to left center 4 runs, 3 hits, 1 errors
  2. Ok, this has been bugging me for a few days now. If you look at the MLB stats, it shows that the Brewers have 34 earned runs and an ERA of 3.17. Team stats But, if you add up the individual stats, you get 35 earned runs and an ERA of 3.26. Individual stats All the other stats are the same. As a stat head, this is bugging me. Yahoo and ESPN say the same thing. Am I missing something?
  3. Isn't Nashville one over now with Reed and Sanchez, even with Maysonet on the DL? Probably means a return trip to the Phantom Zone for Arlis.
  4. I think it's a testament to how crazy good the pitching could be this year. An ERA of just over 3, and 3 shutouts in 11 games, without Greinke. Once Greinke comes back, this team won't need to score a ton of runs. It's strange to watch a Brewers team with such good pitching so far.
  5. I didn't listen, but I was watching Gametracker through the first 4 innings. Rogers only had 1 walk through 4 innings, but he was still all over the place. When he missed, he was missing by a lot.
  6. He had a pretty good second half last year as well. Cutting down on walks has helped. But even when he was pitching better, high pitch counts kept him from getting through 6 innings with regularity. 2nd half stats: 5-3 14 GS 81 IP (5.8 innings/start) 24 BB (2.7BB/9) 66 K (7.3K/9) 3.89 ERA 1.17 WHIP EDIT: I see that 6 of his last 7 starts last year were 6+ innings, so maybe he is starting to figure it out.
  7. Edwin Maysonet is now listed with the Senadores de San Juan. Does that explain his absence from the Nashville Roster? Also, Mike Roberts is not listed on the Brevard County roster now, but Brevard it is listed as his current team under his profile.
  8. A couples things I noticed. Maysonet isn't listed on any roster yet. And Cline is listed on the Huntsville roster.
  9. I was thinking the same thing. That team was probably drinking in the dugout.
  10. It just occurred to me that this pretty much ends any chance of going with an 11 man pitching staff. It will be interesting to see who gets the spot starts, with Parra and Rogers slowed by injuries.
  11. I would guess that there is a $2 million signing bonus, which would make it $6.5, $9, $10, $11 and a $12 option.
  12. I enjoyed reading HG Wells and Jules Verne when I was in grade school.
  13. I saw a report that the deal is worth $800,000 with $450,000 in performance and roster bonuses. Link
  14. The big concern as always is who are the 6-8 starters when someone gets hurt. It's pretty much Parra, or prospects with little or no big league experience (Rogers, Rivas, Peralta?) Resigning Capuano as a reliever/6th starter would make me feel a bit better about the starter depth.
  15. Couldn't Counsell, Cruz and Gamel all make it, if you consider Gamel the 5th OF?
  16. Some things my relatives usually include on a relish tray: Various types of pickles and olives, pickled beets, herring, that sour 3 bean salad. Veggies, meats and cheeses are typically different trays, not on a relish tray, unless they're pickled, high sodium, or sweet/sour.
  17. It's not like the Brewers have much power at the upper levels of the minors, so I don't see him getting traded. He'll have a spot in 2012, once Fielder is gone. There really aren't a whole lot of other options to replace Fielder from within (Unless Katin can cut way down on K's).
  18. I hear police work is dangerous It is, that's why I carry a big gun Aren't you afraid it might go off accidentally? I used to have that problem. Well, what did you do about it? I just think about baseball.
  19. Besides the Peterson comment, the other comment that stood out on the Belling interview was that Del Crandall was the one manager he admired the most in his years in baseball. He also mentioned how impressed he was with the Milwaukee fans when the Angels played the Indians in the snowout series.
  20. So Mrs. Roenicke has been checking out the internet. I wonder if she's made it here?
  21. This will be an important year, to see if Milwaukee actually comes out and supports the Bucks. The only year they ever came close to selling out the season (at the BC) was the year after they almost made it to the finals with the big 3. Otherwise, they've been in the 15,000 to 16,000 range. The first year in the BC was the only other year where they drew over 17,000. Of course, they've had mostly pudrid teams since they've been at the BC. It's interesting that Marquette has outdrawn the Bucks over the past three years, but that probably points to the fact the Milwaukee will support a winner more than anything else. That and the fact that the NBA season is too long.
  22. Haudricourt is reporting that Lawrie "elected not to play" and Schafer is still not fully recovered from the broken foot. Lawrie has been playing pretty much non-stop since he was drafted, so maybe he needed a break.
