I tried replying to the Rotation Take 2 thread and my post is blank. If I edit it, it shows everything, but the preview and post remain blank. Any ideas? Link
They could still shuffle things around with the day off tomorrow, but currently it appears that Bush is lined up with the off day on April 8th. Suppan and Parra would be lined up with April 9th. That would be the 4th spot. Then the 5th starter isn't needed until April 24th. The 4th starter would get 4 starts, while the other three end up in the pen. Then they pick one as the 5th starter on the 24th. So really, we may not know who the 5th starter is for another month. The big question now is who becomes the 4th starter.
I've seen this posted numerous places. I made one of these antennas about a year ago and it has worked great. I have it in the rafters of my garage. Never have any trouble getting any of the local channels (I'm in Muskego). Haven't had cable in 10 years. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3616/3564978913_4b143a602c.jpg Link
What are you talking about? We're supposed to be singing about piratey things. Never smoked Never been drunk Never broke a bone or needed stitches Never tried the lottery or made a bet for money Never dated anyone other than my wife
I got an e-mail about this yesterday, but forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder. I got 4 loge bleacher seats for Wed. It's perfect, since my son is off school for spring break.
It seems like Heether is not being mentioned much in spring training and he's off to a slow start, making me think that he'll start in AAA. If that's the case, do we end up with an all left-handed bench? Edmonds seems a front runner for one of the last spots and I could see Inglett getting the last infield spot, because he's got some major league experience. Would an all lefty bench be a big deal? Outside of Braun and Fielder, everyone else will probably get regular days off, leaving at least one righty on the bench most times. Or does Doug have a trade up his sleeve?
Also, Shannon decided to stay in Australia, instead of get on the plane. And what is Desmond doing on the plane? Popping in and out of places again? As a Heroes fan, I mentioned two things to my wife. "Matt Parkman is the pilot". I guess he was the original pilot, but he wasn't well known then. And "That's the puppet master guy from Heroes driving the cab.
We're looking at a summer vacation and it looks like we'll have a couple days to spend in each city. What would be the must see things for mom, dad, and 5 year old son? For Louisville, the Louisville Slugger Museum and the Frasier International History Museum look interesting. And my son really wants to see the Indianapolis Children's Museum and the dinosaurs. Any recommendations?
So overall: Defense: Slight improvement Offense: Worse, but by how much? This will be the biggest question going into the season. Bullpen: Slight improvement Rotation: Significantly better. The rotation will obviously have the biggest effect. Not just better numbers, but going deeper into games. Gallardo was the only one to consistently give 6+ innings last year. Gallardo, Wolf and Davis at least gives 3 starters who will give you 6 innings constistently. I know it's not a great stat but it's interesting that they had 64 quality starts last year, but 93 quality starts from the starters on this year's team. That should help the bullpen from getting burned out in the second half of the season and keep the team in more games so they won't need to score as many runs.
With defererred salary for Wolf, option for Hoffman, $2 million Suppan buyout, as well as arby raises for Fielder, Weeks, Hart, Gerut, Gomez, Coffey, Gallardo, Parra, and Villaneuva, they're probably close to $75 million.
Between Qubo, PBS, and videos, my son's a happy camper. I guess part of it is that I grew up without cable and only had it for a couple years while in an apartment. So I'm just used to broadcast TV. Actually, it seems like I watched more TV when I was single. We're too busy to watch TV.
I've had OTA TV for 9 years now and it works for me. And with the switch to digital, there's something like 30 channels and subchannels, all through a homemade antenna in the garage rafters. If we miss a show, then we watch it online. But I have been hearing how some of the major networks may be dropping OTA in a few years. So OTA TV may be dying soon, except for local channels that hang on with local programming or re-runs. I'm not sure what I'd do then.
I forgot about Butler. But asside from Butler and a few interesting bullpen guys, the AAA pitching staff is looking to be mainly AAAA players again. So it's not like these signings will be taking away innings from prospects.
I was a Weathers fan during his first stint with the team. I seem to recall him having some crazy streak where he never let an inheritted runner score. Picking up Weathers for cash was certainly a lot better deal than when they originally traded him for Ruben Quevedo.
I'm having flashbacks to the Vina situation. Everyone knew Taylor was going to trade Vina to make room for Belliard. So he goes out and trades Vina for garbage. At least Escobar is better than Belliard.
