    Or a child. I wake my daughter up at 7:15 every morning and then walk her to school. A nice walk wakes me right up. Yeah, I haven't slept past 7 in the 4.5 years since my son was born. He's always up between 6 and 6:30. And I'll second the thought about staying off the Internet before bed. If I'm on the Internet before bed, it takes me forever to fall asleep. If I read a book or relax, I'm asleep right away.

    I'd take the cut to save my job, but no one elses. We've already had our pay frozen this year, profit sharing eliminiated, while the cost of benefits continues to rise. Add in inflation and things are already very tight. And with the uncertain ecomony, say we take the 5% cut now. What garantee is there that a few months from now, things are still bad, so they have to layoff more people anyway.

    I do them by hand, but I use Turbotax.com to make sure I didn't miss anything. I can go through everything online for free and stop right before the e-file so I don't have to pay any fees.

    Is it city water or a private well? I've seen low water pressure with private wells. Usually there's a tank that needs more air pumped into it.

    It's amazing that George Thompson's scoring record has stood for 40 years, but 3 guys on this team will likely pass him. McNeal and James should easily pass him this year and Hayward has a good chance of passing him next year. Add in Matthews and this team has four of the top 10 scorers is MU history.

    With the $400,000 buyout it's really more like $1.4 million, right? Still half of what he made last year.

    I think the difference is 25 man vs 40 man. If you take the total of the salary page, it has 38 players. Take off 13 salaries at $400,000 and that subtracts $5.2 million.

    Hart's number is really the only one that surprised me, especially considering how poorly he did after the All Star Break. It seems too high and the Brewers seem to agree according to TH. At the beginning of last season, I thought Hart was one of the guys they could get signed long term. Now, that doesn't seem very likely.

    Car advice

    I had planned to drive my 95 Chevy Corsica into the ground, unfortunately, that happened sooner than I expected. The car was 9 years old and around 100,000 miles at the time. Just a month after spending $700 to replace the gasket for the 4th time, the car died due to another problem. Antifreeze was leaking into the oil, and the engine was toast. At least one the mechanics gave me $200 for it, to rebuild the engine (body was great), so I didn't have to pay to get it hauled away. Previously, drove my parents 1988 Olsmobile Cutlass Cierra. That one also died at around 90-100,000 miles. I have a 2004 Honda Accord now and haven't had a problem yet (75,000 miles). So my vote would be to trade in the chevy and get a reliable car now. I wouldn't expect the GM car to last much longer.

    I know I have read Arthur C Clarke's book "Hammer of God" where he talks about this exact situation happening in 2110, but I can't recall the details. I'll have to reread it now.
