  1. at least they left your car on bricks. In my neighborhood, when they get you for your rims, they just let the car fall on the ground, which can't be good for the car.
  2. I might be in the minority, but I liked Hernandez. I was indifferent to Kolb, but I thought Jose was useful. He even deservedly made an all-star team with the team. Sure, he wasn't that great his first year, but his 2nd was fine and his 3rd year was very good.
  3. I never understood why everyone liked Gantner so much. I just never cared much about him. He was ok to good for the first half of his career, but his last 9 years he was pretty bad. It always was weird to me that the team seemed to market the idea that they had Molitor, Yount, and Gantner as their big star players when Gantner was not half the player that the other guys were.
  4. http://www.newsradioart.com/Images/IntroPhil/IntroPhil_01.jpg Good times, good times.
  5. That sucks for your wife, sorry to hear about that. People will walk off with anything not locked up (which is why I never live in ground floor apartments).
  6. whoops, sorry, I guess I must not have had the right plug-ins or something on my work computer.
  7. Kobe's a better player in his sport than Derek Jeter is in his. Both are somewhat overrated (both are great, don't get me wrong), but Kobe is consistently a top 5-10 player in the NBA, while Jeter is not that in MLB (with the exception of 1999 and possibly 2006).
  8. The Nationals apparently have 5 picks in the first 71 selections (including #6). That could go a long way toward stocking their system.
  9. 9 AM game? I realize it's 10 AM on the east coast, but that still seems pretty early. Is that usual?
  10. How about some pictures of you in one of your suits? I want to know if my vote is deserved? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif I only see that one picture of you.
  11. This is definitely an encouraging season so far from Palmisano. It seems like a fair amount of catchers take awhile to develop (LoDuca, Miller, Estrada, Ruiz, etc.). Maybe Lou will take their path. It would be nice if Lou and Angel are the 2 catchers for the Brewers in 2009 or so.
  12. Looks like they've found his body. Too bad.
  13. Nice, my PS2 broke several years ago, so I've been stuck with just GameCube and now Wii. I'll finally get to try this franchise. I'm pretty excited.
  14. 1,200,067 That is the number of acknowledged US combat fatalities through yesterday (including the confederacy). The actual number is somewhat higher as the total number of military fatalities in the revolutionary war, war of 1812, and korean war are not known, and I don't have the numbers for military actions that weren't wars. I agree that remembrance is important. Those 1.2 million plus made the ultimate sacrifice, some for a cause that was obvious, some for one that wasn't, but all deserve our thanks.
  15. Oh man, apparently Marquise Hill, a 3rd year defensive end for the Patriots out of LSU, fell off of a jetski in Lake Pontchartrain and got swept away by the current. He was with a woman, but she was able to grab a pylon and be rescued. This happened about 9:30 last night. Hill's agent said he is holding out hope that Hill was able to survive the night. I hope the agent is right. That is so scary, I feel kind of sick to my stomach. I was a lifeguard for years but I don't know if I could survive 12+ hours in a lake. I hope Hill can do it. link: sports.espn.go.com/nfl/ne...id=2884762
  16. You're forgetting Corey. I like trying to get rid of Mench, but I don't see why anybody would want to give up anything worth anything for him right now. We're probably talking about getting a Maxim St. Pierre at this point.
  17. I would try to do the opposite, and pick up a guy like Lincecum, Hughes, or Bailey. The price would obviously be steep, but I would explore those rather than give up Gallardo. Gallardo and Bailey would look pretty nice at the top of the Brewers 2008-2013 rotation.
  18. God, if they have to take a pitcher for some reason, I hope they don't take a guy based on who will move fastest. Look how that worked out with the Pirates taking Brian Bullington #1 in 2002. That's how you pass on guys that might become legends.
  19. I like trying to get Otsuka, I would pass on Millwood though. How about Bush for Otsuka straight up? Would Texas have interest in that, or would the Brewers have to throw something else good in?
  20. why was the main site down in addition to the forums? I'm just curious because I thought they were pretty much 2 seperate entities.
  21. The reason I brought this up is because the Yankees did domething similar in 2002-2003. In 2002, they got Raul Mondesi from Toronto in a salary dump. In 2003, he was doing ok, but they traded him to Arizona for David Dellucci (who is kind of useful, but really a spare part). Now Mondesi was obviously not as good as Abreu, but he was still seen by some as a big time player. I think the situation is somewhat analogous.
  22. What I'm saying is that excessive gas usage doesn't occur in a vacuum.
  23. That's nice of the D-Backs (and of you, to take that many kids on a field trip).
  24. But isn't this kind of the problem?
