  3. Yeah, Jenks looked thrilled when he was doubled off.
  4. I don't even think Ned could manage us into that over the next 9 games . . . . Everything will be okay. We'll win both series in a row at home.
  5. WOW they just RIPPED Ned Yost on that one on the MLB.TV broadcast . . . "Thank you VERY much Ned Yost" hahaha
  6. Ohka in a bandbox . . . sadly this one was probably decided before it started. Santos won't fair much better later today, but I'm still hoping our bats can out muscle them for the series win.
  7. Jeff Suppan is easily the most beatable guy in this Cards rotation. Which means he'll K 11 tonight, give up 3 hits and win 1-0.
  8. I have a question for the masses. Is it better to pull a pitcher you know doesn't have his stuff in the 2nd inning and try to win that game with the pen, or let him throw said game away and try not to burn your pen as much? Serious question . . .
  9. So what inning will Jenkins injury himself for the year? 6th? 7th?
  10. Who would have thought Vic's WHIP would be a good predictor of current and future success . . . or failure as the case is.
  11. It's a night game alright, but since Vic is on the mound that means we won't have any offense. Matt "Brawny" Morris will help take care of that. I'm very excited for this series, however. It may show a lot about the make-up of this club.
  12. I realize no one keeps track of what things people advocate around here, but I'm not one of the people that throws crazy off the wall lineup changes out there. I suggested a player capable of playing the OF, with power, replace Lee in the lineup in the outfield if he's going to have a day off. By the way, Miguel Tejada needs a day off too, can you get the memo to his manager . . . That guy has got to be tired, playing in so many games in a row and all. Its a professional ballplayers job to get out there every day. So, I'm sorry, but I'l respectfully disagree with your opinion that he needs a day off. He can have one in September when the kids are up. If you remove Carlos from the lineup, you remove most of our offense. Now that I've said this, CM will surely go 3x4 with 3 RBI and a dinger.
  13. I just don't get why you'd give Lee a day off. At least not to play CM. I'd be more interested in seeing Branyan play a game in RF and let Hall play 3b for the day.
  14. Yes, indeed. Let's for once, not make a crappy pitcher look like Roger Clemens. I wouldn't mind putting a serious hurt on Drese and make this game a no-doubter. Something to the tune of 11-1. But, I'll settle for Ohka keeping the ball in the yard and pulling off the series win.
  15. Thanks for the explanation. Makes sense why he was thrown out at home now.
  16. THIS IS *$(%&$*( BUSH LEAGUE STUFF. WHY WAS MILLER THROWN OUT AT HOME? I seriously need an explanation.
  17. If Davis pitches two scoreless innings and we take the lead I say its worth it. Otherwise I'd have liked to see us do something with out out. Maybe Ned just figured whoever he was going to bring off the bench would just K anyways, so wait until they get to the pen. I can live with that rationale.
  18. Yeah, I pinch hit there. Your bullpen is going to have to get you through this game anyways. Whatever scrub we use to get us through the 7th when we are down 4-1 could have also pitched the 6th.
  19. And here I was wondering why I felt less stressed out of late . . .
  20. Santos splits coming into this game over the past three years . . . Day: 8.71 in 71.1 IP and a .327 AVG Night: 4.42 in 134.1 IP and a .271 AVG At what point do we seriously think about using a spot starter for him when day games come up in his rotation spot?
  21. Ummm wow, is it possible to underplay what happened last night anymore? We had perfect ball thrown against us for 9 and 1/3 innings while we had a lead against a guy who set down 14 guys himself. As for using Blowtallico again today, words cannot explain . . .
  22. I'll take the under . . . 15 games, with a whole lot of prospects seeing time for the remainder of the season.
  23. I feel like I've posted this 100 times. Why does Yost feel he needs to use Blowtallico two days in a row after he has a horrible outing the day before? Does 'Blow' come with special instructions that he needs to get his confidence back right away or something? Let's get this "showcasing" done with and get him on his way. I'm sick of seeing this joker on the mound.
