  1. Yeah, I just thought the whole thing was funny.
  2. The Reynolds Revival is in full swing the past couple days, and he's not letting Buck come along for the ride.
  3. Watching Floyd Mayweather paint yet another masterpiece is a great way to start a Sunday morning.
  4. I really enjoyed this article from BP last week: http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=16628 The gist of it being that Pujols has possibly changed his approach to become a free-swinger. The fact that he has walked the same amount as Jeff Francouer since the all-star break of last year is quite alarming. If he stays that way, even if he starts making more solid contact and getting hits, it's still going to be a bad deal for the Angels pretty soon. Albert Pujols with a .340-.350 OBP is a hell of a lot less valuable than the guy who had the .418 career mark coming into this season and was walking 90-115 times on the regular a couple years ago.
  5. Yeah, this has been so fun to watch. Possibly my favorite player in the game. The bomb he hot off of Valverde yesterday was just great.
  6. This season is starting to look like a slow-motion trainwreck.
  7. They'll have to love his defense to put up with a .510 OPS much longer. On the other hand, maybe they'd take Ishikawa for LaPorta. Ishikawa plays fine defense too. That's assuming that Kotchman will carry a .510 OPS all season. I would think it'll be closer to .700 - .750. If they wanted LaPorta to be the 1B, they would have given him the gig instead of giving Kotchman $3 million. I'm guessing they didn't give him $3 million just to dump him after 100 PA's coming off a spring where he missed some time with a back injury - especially to replace him with a guy with 1000 mostly awful MLB PA's, like LaPorta. He's 27 years old. He should destroy AAA.
  8. That LaRussa guy did alright with platoons, I guess.
  9. That's awesome.
  10. They like Kotchman a lot for his defense. Their staff is mostly groundballers and that was why they signed him.
  11. Massively bummed.
  12. I am thinking about getting a used Wii on the super cheap from a family member... is it possible to do online roster updates on a Wii? I was planning on just getting the 2K game.
  13. The only thing funnier than a fat guy running is a fat guy running and falling down.
  14. They really need to do better than this. I'm fine with him being around in a bench role, but if it's a platoon of Conrad/Ishikawa at 1B the rest of the year, color me unimpressed.
  15. Ha. I've been trying to trade for Goldschmidt while his price is low and hope he picks it up. I personally think Harper will end up with a better year than Trout. I'm falling in the pile of his hype. Now he's raking, so hopefully he will stay in the lineup 95% of the time.
  16. I'm not too worried about him. He's having good AB's and taking his walks. The hits will come.
  17. I am all for computerizing as much of umpiring as possible, down to even the strike zone. Human error has no place in the game in 2012, or at least not near the huge part it has in baseball. You would still have umpires for out/safe calls, check swings, etc., but they could eliminate complete garbage like "too close to take with 2 strikes" when it comes to the batter vs pitcher confrontation.
  18. Yeah, the bad thing was that it looked like he was wincing before he even got to the wall.
  19. What a wonderful AB he just had against Jansen to draw a walk.
