  1. He's had two really good AB's today, it's just a matter of getting them to fall in right now.
  2. Delgado just took him out, too.
  3. I didn't see the ab, but gamecast has Jenks taking some really close pitchs there. Hopefully that means he's starting to see the ball a bit better. He ran the count full - heck, he even put the ball in play. Sometimes guys make outs.
  4. Thome went deep again. He's flat-out mashing right now.
  5. I predict Clark will open the game off with a walk and Yost will call for the sacrifice http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I thought the same thing. The Brewers should petition the league to have the position of "DSG" (Designated Sacrifice Guy) created so they can play JC every day, and call upon him every time a productive out is needed.
  6. I'm with you on that. I was going to start a thread, but thought better of it so early in the season. Thus far, Ned seems to be using Gross simply because of his handedness, even though it would appear, by minor league numbers, that Hart is a far superior hitter. That's not sound logic, to me at least. I have faith that Gross will slip into that second to last guy on the bench role that he's suited for, and that Hart will rise to the top, like he always has.
  7. just saw the lineups. It's nice to see a change to show that the Brewers do have enthusiasm and will do what it takes to win. Miller's sitting because it's a day game after a night game, he'll likely sit on Saturday, too. Weeks and Hardy are sitting because Hall and Cirillo could use some AB's to stay sharp. I'd hope either Lee or Jenkins sits on Saturday so Hart can start, too.
  8. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/f2/Kid_n_play.jpg
  9. I'm calling the break out of the bats today. Double digit runs. It's going to happen, unless it doesn't.
  10. Rogers. Seriously. I know he's "raw" and all, but maybe don't mess around with the "raw" guys anymore.
  11. On the radio broadcast, they are saying his count is 80-85. The article at the Brewers site says 70. We'll see, I guess.
  12. I know I've compared him to Adam Dunn in the past, and that still is his upside. You know, you're starting to get me liking a high schooler a lot. Thanks for the Barfield info, his dad said that he hasn't seen a better hitter in the state of Texas, so maybe he's possibly drafted as a hitter, too? Or is he just a LHP?
  13. 96 MPH heater followed by a nice curve. Things are good. EDIT: So far, 2 IP, 1 H, 3 K, 1 WP, and 30 pitches
  14. Well, there's a two-run bomb for Nelson Cruz. Some run support for Sheeter.
  15. Patrick, what do you know about Jeremy Barfield? I heard an interview with Jesse Barfield last week, and he mentioned that Jeremy was a pretty highly thought of draft prospect.
  16. Yeah, like the Yankees are going to be able to handle an ace the caliber of Joe Mays. I'll believe it when I see it.
  17. Thanks, Az. I figured he must be, but I hadn't seen anything lately. EDIT: He's certainly off to a lovely start, thus far.
  18. Is Jones on a strict pitch count, or working in tandem tonight? Or is he deemed ready to go 5 or 6 innings?
  19. What would have happened w/ out Mulder Homer? Izzy comes in and slams the door, rather than Mulder coming out and giving up a hit, and the Looper experience.
  20. Are the "greatest fans in the history of the world" booing Izzy coming into the game?
  21. Fine. Both times. 3 runs the first outing, and 2 the second. Does the point change? It's just a little early to say the guy sucks, or there's something wrong with him. Pitchers give up runs sometimes. Who knows, maybe it takes Capellan a couple weeks to get his velocity up, maybe he hasn't had enough work. The game was lost at that point, anyhow.
  22. but this is still a team with 85-88 win potential. They're just going to struggle now and then on the offense. SBL, you're right on. I think this is an 87 win team. It gets quite ridiculous to see some that apparently expect them to win 100 because they swept one of the worst teams in the league in the first three games.
  23. Well, he's gotten shelled every time we've seen him this season Every time = twice. Jeepers.
  24. To be fair, Mulder was a total masher in college. I don't think he shook all the rust off of his bat last season, but it looks like he has now. And, jeez, the 100 mph that Capellan throws looks an awful lot like 91 to me.
