  1. Masterful performance by Blanton tonight against the offensive juggernaut that is the Mariners. And the A's drew 11 walks whilst racking up 5 hits. King Felix seemed a little rusty tonight, and I don't know why they had him go 100 pitches. Please be careful with him.
  2. I said this last night in the chat room, but if the Brewers can keep the same approach they had in the Pittsburgh series against Ortiz, this is going to be a long game. The guy is a walks machine, somwhere around 5 BB/9 in the past two seasons, and 4.62 over his career. I say the Brewers draw somewhere around six or seven walks tonight and get into the "soft underbelly" of the D'Backs pen. I think the only game that may be really tough is Saturday's game, you have to hope they have a home plate umpire that doesn't call the low strike for Webb. If he does, they could spend the whole day pounding the ball into the ground.
  3. How quick does Miller arrive, Patrick? Will he go on that same developmental path that a guy like Verlander did, or is he not even close to as good of a prospect?
  4. Are there any mock drafts out there at all, or is it too early?
  5. I have the three innings of Sheets' rehab start recorded and archived at: www.putfile.com/brettac1 Just in case you missed it.
  6. He can play it pretty well. He actually plays all four corner spots decently.
  7. Fermaint is a maniac so far, tonight. A walk, a single, a RBI, and two steals. EDIT: Maybe I'll just chill in the chat room for the Sheets start.
  8. Branyan has officially arrived, with a K. It was a nice 6 or 7 pitch AB, though. No chances for him in RF, yet, tonight.
  9. Phew. I was watching the game and thought it might have been a little worse. At least it's just his side, and his right one. I have him on a bunch of my fantasy teams. And Branyan is starting, batting 6th and playing RF tonight for the D Rays.
  10. Bonds just got an intentional walk. Seeing that it came from Bobby Cox, I'd bet there'll be some copy-cats.
  11. If the Brewers keep the patient approach they had for pretty much the whole game tonight, along with the first two games, all year long, they're going to win a lot more games than they lose. It's really been a blast to watch them work deep counts in nearly every AB, and they've been rewarded for it thus far. I also think it was a really bad idea to throw Turnbow in three straight games, hopefully they can get a blowout on Friday, too and get him a couple days off. He needs them. Oh yeah, I love Tomo Ohka.
  12. I beat you by two minutes on Andy Hawkins, Toby.
  13. Has it ever happened where someone lost while throwing a no-no? Don't quote me on this, but I think someone like Andy Hawkins lost one once.
  14. 46 pitches. He ain't gonna last long as long as the Brewers keep this approach.
  15. Tomes just threw one 93. He must be unhappy.
  16. Xavier Nady hit a HR. He's on his way to becoming extremely overrated in a hurry, given his market. He could be Benny Agbayani or Shane Spencer in no time flat.
  17. They still made him throw 27 pitches. That'll pay off eventually in this game.
  18. I can tell by the looks of that lineup, and their ace of staff, that the Power will easily be my favorite team to follow this year.
  19. McLouth seems to pretty much be the same player as Duffy.
  20. ultimately just an old Joe Randa that's hitting. Tracyball. It's why the Pirates will still suck. Craig Wilson should probably be playing every day as it is.
  21. Sweet win. This team is cool. The key thing was grinding Perez out of the game. They had no luck against him, but they made him throw pitches and got to the soft underbelly and won the game.
  22. It all started with the walk, which was nice. I wasn't a huge fan of the bunt, and they got a little lucky with Torres bobbling it, but Yost's use of Gross was beautiful, then Rillo coming in to beat the LHP was nice.
