  1. Figured I'd start the thread since the show starts tonight... I'm really looking forward to this. It's either going to be spectacular or a spectacular failure. Since it's HBO, I'll bet on the former. Even though it's a remake, it's just incredibly amitious, and it has what looks like should be a rock-solid cast. At 45 episodes, it's got the potential to be epic or tedious. With this, and then season two of Tell Me You Love Me coming, HBO is putting a lot of eggs into the therapy basket. HBO is also showing the episodes on the website, if people are interested and don't get HBO: http://www.hbo.com/intreatment/
  2. Plus, he lives in FL with no state income tax.
  3. Gagne will get most of the media love as a reason for why the team is so much improved. Cameron, in reality, will be the reason. But he's pretty used to being undervalued everywhere he goes.
  4. I really think Huntington is going to do a really good job there if he is given enough time (like 5 years). He's a smart guy and he says the right things.
  5. I have a friend who is a professional fisherman and he burned 1,000 gallons of gas in a three day tournament this past summer.
  6. $24 K in gas and $10 K in electric. Shaq's going green, but in a different fashion.
  7. Federer is far from dull, IMO. The guy is historically great. It's kind of like saying that watching the Patriots go to 19-0 in a couple weeks is dull. I do agree with GAME that the men's game is too ace-driven, though, but Federer's one of the few that doesn't rely on a massive serve alone.
  8. Dang, I wish I would have read the thread last night. I know the feeling, though. I almost had a heart attack when mine wouldn't turn on, and I don't even use it that much.
  9. I watched at least 15 Rockies games and the best thing about their defense was the official scorekeeper. I saw at least 2 plays from Tulo that would have been errors at any other ballpark called hits. Balls running up the arm and causing a late throw to first is a hit? No doubt he is an outstanding defensive SS but not as good as the metrics show. And he can hit without scorekeepers help. Looking at errors/FPCT isn't how he's being evaluated by Tango. There's a lot more to it than that, in fact, I don't think I ever look at the number of errors a guy made when looking at defense. It's the number of balls he gets to. He's an incredible SS, and he has been since he was at LBSU. I think the metrics will grade him around where he was last year all the way through his peak years. And I have no doubt that he'll hit on the road.
  10. I had it happen once when I took it out of a FM transmitter awkwardly. All I had to do was reset it and it worked again.
  11. I think anytime you OD without the intention of OD'ing, it would be accidental.
  12. My post output has been dwindling lately because I see that 10 K coming... It's like you're looking down into the abyss and you see it coming up at you.
  13. Ugh. That's a shame. I really liked him in "Candy", even.
  14. The NFL is so far ahead of MLB at the PR game when it comes to PED's that it's not even funny. There's a huge number of guys using HGH and the like in the NFL, and no one even sniffs around it. And when they do, the story lasts for a day and goes away.
  15. http://www.filmforum.org/films/oldjoy/OldJoyKinoposter.jpg Finally got around to watching "Old Joy", and I loved it. It was beautiful all the way around - imagery, score, everything. I think pretty much every guy has been in the shoes of both main characters at one point or another in a friendship (aside from the massage in the hot-tub part).
  16. Yep. I'm in tonight.
  17. There is far less steroid abuse in Hollywood. Nor is there a governing body for Hollywood that has an anti-trust exemption with the government and someone to actually hold accountable.
  18. It's worth it for Ron & Fez and Opie & Anthony alone. I originally got it for baseball, but it's pretty rare that my receiver leaves 202.
  19. He hit his wife in the face in the street. I'm nearly positive there were witnesses, but she dropped the charges. That's not a wife-beater?
  20. Historically, this is the best remedy I can remember working for me personally. I remember back when I was living at my parents' house, and I was out drinking beer all night, and my Dad woke me up to do chores. Oh, man, that brings back memories. I had a party one night at my house and some idiot woke my dad up. I was chopping and stacking wood all day the next day.
  21. West Virginia losing to Pitt. The holding calls on Pitt at the end were atrocious (and IMO, obviously influenced by Big East officials with a desire to have the conference represented in the championship game), so at least there was some karma.
  22. It seems to me that the whole "Milledge is a bad guy" thing started over something really innocuous, like he made a great play in LF and high-fived with a bunch of fans running back to the dugout. I have never heard anything remotely near being Milton Bradley - who has alcohol incidents and domestic abuse in his past, to go along with a boatload of on-field blow-ups (and I like Bradley).
  23. Aspirin + alcohol makes for stomach bleeding, I think. If you're going to take a pain reliever, I guess I would say go with Aleve instead.
  24. Water before bed, Gatorade and caffeine the next day. And get up and do stuff, even if you don't feel up to it.
