  1. Watching from the west Hoping Bush does not blow up Win one for Robin
  2. I think this Braun kid will be ok... :-)
  3. http://twitter.com/jordanschelling Apparently Braunie out for a little extra BP today...probably a good idea. He's looked very mortal lately.
  4. Welcome back Ueck!!! He sounds like his old self...now that will cheer up Brewers Nation after a crummy season & a big rainstorm. Hope you are all ok back in the homeland.
  5. I'm not sure Braddock is the closer...has had arm issues & control probs. Also a lefty...rather have a righty as the closer. Axford is cost controlled for years. After blowing countless dollars on closers and wannabe closers, let's hope Ax can keep it up. Trade him 5 years from now when he's close to FA and someone needs an arm for the stretch drive. Knock on wood he's still that valuable by then.
  6. Sending Prince there was all about payback...it was pretty obvious he was going to be out by a mile.
  7. Wonder if Rickie will be in the 3 hole next year after Prince gets traded. edit: Just a matter of time before the Brewers plunked somebody.
  8. Hart not in lineup tonight...probably nothing, but that will fuel the rumor mill.
  9. Would Viciedo still have arby years 2013-15?
  10. These guys are like the Lynn Dickey era Packers...incredible offense, horrendous defense...having to work way too hard just to knock on .500. They'll probably lose this one 15-12
  11. If they would eat the salary, I'd do that in a heartbeat. We're already paying Suppan anyway. I'd trade him for Bill Hall too...he might be a better pitcher.
  12. Pineda is a stud. Tough to pry him away from Jack Z. Would adding Bush to the deal back to the Sox help?
  13. Maybe it's part of the marketing push to add a meatball to the sausage race next year. The guy has solid stuff, but just can't put it together. The team isn't going anywhere and Cappy has a pretty low ceiling at this point. It may not be pretty, but they need to do everything they can to get Parra going or at least figure out what they've got.
  14. I heard through the grapevine that Lawrie may have been suspended for a game due to a fight with one of his teammates. Anyone hear anything about that or am I way outside of the loop here?
  15. I thought it was great. Any chance to get a little more Brewers content out here is great with me! Seeing Casey's kid running around was pretty cool...he looked good. The overall vibe on the team has always seemed pretty good with these guys. They've created a good environment that guys want to play for. I hope they can keep that feel after they make some more substantial player moves over the next couple years.
  16. Braun has had enough of this pitch inside stuff...looked like he was still talking to himself in the OF, but maybe that was just the sunflower seeds.
  17. If adding Bush into a deal to replace a young starter that they need to get through the year, that makes a lot of sense.
  18. I agree with you guys on the body armour. I tried to contrast what Rickie & Prince have as "a lesser degree" than Bonds. Prince & Rickie wear pads, Bonds had enough body armour to survive a Schwarzennegger movie. Biggio is a great example too. It always seemed to me they were using the armour as an offensive weapon not protection.
  19. Piniella to retire at year's end...may the Cubs find an equally inept manager in the future... http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=An3YtC1uqgk.2wxluySU6Ac5nYcB?slug=txcubspiniella
  20. It's one thing to get plunked because you crowd the plate, and do it with a full plate of armour like Barry Bonds had (or even Prince & Rickie have to a lesser degree). I fully acknowledge the majority of hits that Prince & Rickie have gotten were not intentional. It's also in the pitchers right to try and back a player off if he's trying to garner an unfair advantage by crowding the plate. I would categorize that as part of the game. I'm a little mixed on the body armour too...it could give the hitter an unfair advantage. However, Prince and Braun have each been plunked a few times intentionally for silly baseball code reasons. That has to stop. Venters was so obvious and so silly. Mota hitting Prince last year or Karstens plunking Braun. That's just intentional plain and simple. I think Macha handled it ok too...he basically said if the league doesn't do anything about it, we'll be making a trade for Seth McClung or Prince is going to start decapitating shortstops and the league better watch out. The league handled it, hopefully that's the end of it. I do think Macha should have raised the stink earlier. I will put this out in defense of the Braves venting...Riske hitting Glaus looked intentional enough to me and the Brewers were warned. He probably should have been ejected too. Cox had a legit gripe there...he had no case whatsoever on Venters.
  21. I agree, but I'm just really glad for Cappy it didn't happen tonight.
  22. Congrats Cappy!!! That is one nasty streak that comes to an end...hope that makes all the work worthwhile for him.
  23. True, but Cain is a career .667 hitter. That beats Edmonds .600 average vs. Karstens. Where's Carlos Corporan when you need him?
