  1. Worked last series http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif)))
  2. As I called it in the in game thread, I knew this would come up. He was fine after 8 innings and he still had a shut out. He's an ace, a great pitcher, if you think he'd let Macha take him out you're nuts. Plus as others have said 122 pitches over 9 innings is a lot less stressful. There is a difference between laboring through 6 innings and doing well through 9. I also think pitch count is a bit overrated. There are easy outings and tough outings, it's not just the number of pitches you throw. People need to settle down about this. Yo is a competitor, if he does that through 8 he's staying in. Plain and simple.
  3. Ya I couln't get in and wanted to so bad. Great work Yo! To anyone who might complain about Yo's pitch count, all I have to say is there is no way he would have come out of the game so don't say anything about Macha please. Yo looking like the ace and acting like a bulldog today. Let's get to 5 games out and then chip away from there.
  4. Game is on TV http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  5. I really think you had to go with Ax last night. It's so much better to get the first two games of a series. Now people can be relaxed and come out and go for the sweep. Give Hoff the ball today if needed. Less pressure and not as big of a deal if he blows up.
  6. Well we've all been asking for this for quite awhile now. We've all been complaining about the GM bringing up old has beens that don't do anything. But take a look right now and we have to be pretty excited about how our young guys (or new to the majors) have been stepping up. It's pretty exciting! So even though most of them are in the pen we have to be pretty happy about a handful of these guys being around for awhile. Lucroy Ax Braddock Loe Escobar Parra You could even say Narv Dog. I guess what I'm saying is I'm finally happy with what we are looking like. Playing better ball and we can be excited about what the future holds for some of these guys. Way better than not looking forward to the future with likes of Davis, Soup, etc.
  7. Wow what a huge win, and huge save. Props to Manny, keep it going!!!
  8. I'd say he's not "over worked" but that he should get the day off. I'd say because of the two innings the other night that it would be a smart move. Let's hope we are up 5 and we can bring in Hoff or something. The Great Mustach-eo is amazing!
  9. I think it's too early to see his effect on pitchers and it's an unfair comparison. Totally different staff. Also, didn't him and Wolf not see eye to eye the first time or two out? You will have to forgive me because I don't get to see many of the games (just listen) but I thought there was talk about that. I think his arm has helped and I'm excited about the guy but I'm not ready to go say he's made our staff that much better. We'll see though.
  10. Dear Brewers, Please get a win tonight so I can rest easy, for I live in Twins territory and have to hear them gush about how great they are all the time. I would love to be able to talk a little smack if we can at least split or possibly win the series. I had to sit through the first game, when Bush got lit up, in my Brewers jersey and take all their heat. It's the least you could do. Warmest Regards, R.D.
  11. Ax was huge. I was guessing there would be a good buzz around here and some Macha praise after he kept him in for the 9th. Ha. I too think it was more nerves that kept him in there because he didn't want Hoff to blow it. Does anyone know if Hoff was warming up at all?
  12. So I only caught the end of the game on the radio but how did Bush look? I see he only had one K. How were they hitting him? Great win and good to see our pen get some more rest.
  13. I think it's not they aren't giving it their best but they're not working to get better. If you just think you've got it all figured out and stop studying new trends and working to better yourself and just maintain you will do just that. Maintain or go down hill. Some people can get away with it and others can't. I think he's just being honest. I don't think he's ever dogged it, I think he just got back to what got him here. I'm glad that most of us can admidt when we are wrong on a guy because we really can dish it out sometimes. And I just wanted to give him some more love for his continued good play!
  14. I like us trying to trade Prince and Hart and any aging vets we can get rid of. I'd like us to try to sing weeks if we can get a good deal. I'd like to see Gamel at 1st and also would be interested seeing him in RF but he's got to get healthy. I'd be ok with Mcgehee at 1b but I just think he's got a better glove and more accurate arm. Question here, could we bring Cain up and try Gomez in RF? He's got a cannon arm and that would give us a ton of range between those two.
  15. I think Gamel should play 1b and I think he'd be solid there. Should be an easy transition. I've read this before but have nothing to back it up, but doesn't Cain have a bad arm thus making him not a good RF? I think he needs to play CF or LF.
  16. It sure will be interesting to see how he does in his next few starts. He did look great but once teams see him and get film on him it will be tougher for him. I sure hope he stays healthy, he's fun to watch. As for Costas, he seems to get a little poetic when things could be historic. I enjoy it though.
  17. I know we aren't the best but I wonder if this team has just had some bad luck on its side. We've been pretty close to taking 2 of 3 from some good teams here and I've been wondering if a few things go their way, if they could turn the corner. Twins and Cardinals series are two that come to mind. The problem is every time I think they are going to get a little winning streak going they dissapoint (usually a sing of bad starting pitching). Just thinking out loud here, what are your thoughts?
  18. Ya I think this wasn't a bad signing but more like bad luck. I hope he can come back and be at least average. It would be a nice boost.
  19. So happy this is finally over. Sorry he had to lose it because he really seemed like a good pro. Just really hard to watch the last few years. Oh well, let's move forward.
  20. Yep cost savings are huge and having them locked up long term is big as well. There is no way we can pay aging guys like Cameron and have the "opportunity" to better our team in other spots. Too bad that has seemed to be a big miss. Also, Hardy was a very streaky player. Those types of guys scare me because if they don't get their not streaks they are really bad. That's what has seemed to happen so far with Hardy. We'll judge this at the end of the year but I think it's a big win for Melvin.
  21. I agree he is streaky but it's been awhile since he's had such a good streak and I just wanted to give him some love. I too agree trading him while value is high and he's getting closer to FA is a good move. Again, I don't think he'll fetch a bunch but could be packaged and be a nice bonus.
