  1. That isn't the point. If he had come out and said yeah I sold stuff to Braun they would be reporting it as fact. ESPN has egg on their face after the way they handled his failed test and now they are reporting with a clear anti Braun slant. They are basically spitting in the face of journalistic integrity.
  2. Just shows you how much of an agenda ESPN reports with. This basically says yes Braun was telling the truth. Now he obviously isn't going to be a trusted source in this but if he had come out and said yes I sold drugs to Braun it would be plastered all over ESPN but since it was pro Braun they bury it.
  3. Fowler has hit his off of a bunch of pitchers who are struggling in April so his just seems flukey. Buck is for real but obviously is just a hot streak. For me it is probably Justin Upton with 12 HR already and 11 of them being solo shots somehow!
  4. Pitching WAR is completely worthless, I don't just mean flawed I mean worthless. Hitting WAR I feel fangraphs does a decent job with though.
  5. Kershaw wasn't really on for the first half of the game, his location was all over the place and we kept bailing him out by swinging at bad pitches. I don't completely blame us since the ump was calling a pretty large strike zone. It doesn't take his best stuff for someone like Kershaw to have a dominating game though.
  6. Fair analogy. Both of them cheated and should get the same punishment and be thought of the same way. It is also fair to assume that the guy who just looked over someone's shoulder probably would have bought the answer key if it were available to him and not that expensive, most likely nobody offered him the answer sheet.
  7. I don't really care one way or the other about this topic, but this reasoning lacks any basis in logic.
  8. That could be Funketown, I just find the NBA really bland to watch in general. The players don't look like they are even trying, nobody plays defense anymore and the pacing of the game is just dreadful because of it. Hawk is a bit moronic but he is correct that the stats aren't really mature enough to take completely seriously yet. Though obviously that doesn't mean just throw the stats out completely!
  9. I will just use this space to express how boring watching NBA games is and how insane I find it that anyone actually watches the NFL draft coverage which put me to sleep almost instantly last night.
  10. It pretty much makes the point about how silly it is to freak out over a small sample of PA.
  11. Nothing could make me turn on the golf channel.
  12. You have to include BB or the number doesn't make any sort of sense.
  13. They promote more than just the Brewers. It isn't just a local thing either. http://www.foxsportslocal.com/pages/foxsportsgirls I'm pretty indifferent towards it personally.
  14. His career is 23% and he is off to a 33% this year. His single season high was 25% last year.
  15. There is no reason to think Weeks will K at a 30% clip this year. Also who cares if he hits .240 if he walks 10% of the time and hits for power he is a well above average 2B offensively. I don't care if they move him down when he is struggling but you are going way overboard on how good or bad we should expect him to be from here on out.
  16. Yeah that is definitely true. I saw a stat the other day that 1/3 of all PA result in K, BB or HR now. So only 2 out of 3 PA result in a fielded ball which is devaluing fielding.
  17. I'm sure of two things. 1. You are exactly correct that it is a comfort thing. 2. Within a month of switching he would have adjusted to it. There is absolutely no way that he couldn't adjust to a normal bat. What I'm not sure of is the third thing. 3. It would definitely help him. If I were sure of #3 I'd really be ragging on him hard about the first 2. Since #3 is an unknown I will just be bothered by the 1st two.
  18. I think you wait until next year to worry about an extension. Wait and make sure he holds up in a full season etc. I don't doubt the talent but it is probably jumping the gun to offer a long term extension to any player in their 1st full season.
  19. I kind of get it on 0-2, if it is a strike you obviously are out of the inning or fouled it off. If it is a ball it most likely is an easy pitch to steal off of. I still don't like the call but this makes a little more sense to me.
  20. I don't think we should have done a double steal there but Hundley is not a great defensive C, Street is easy to steal off of. The big flaw is that Weeks is the worst player on the team at making contact so there was a really good chance of a throw instead of a hit and run.
  21. I just wish he would use a normal sized bat. He flails away and misses at outside pitches every single day and it seems like if he just used a normal bat he might make some contact. I just don't get it at all.
  22. Not in a world that made any sense since Jenkins should have won one if not two.
  23. Except Alex Gonzalez. This has to be Yo's last guy, it would be silly to let him face Quentin
  24. Weeks OPS by situation. Low - .779 Medium - .780 High - .716 2012 NL league wide stats. Low - .711 Medium - .719 High - .735 2011 NL league wide stats Low - .695 Medium - .729 High - .706 There is at least a little evidence that he isn't 'clutch'. My guess is it is more because he faces really tough RH RP in high leverage situations and he stinks against good pitchers and he stinks against RHP. A lot of his offensive stats come off of marginal LHP which he doesn't face much late in the game.
