  1. someone get Franklin Stubbs on the phone ... need a cameo from him soon.
  2. I think you're on to something here. I've always wondered why GM's don't each just acquire four all stars every off-season who all pan out to make their lineup as good as possible.
  3. That's the spirit.
  4. I've been wanting to start this for a while but didn't want to be the one to J word the whole situation. Glad this is here. Let the countdown begin.
  5. Were you expecting a top 5 prospect return for Luis Urias?
  6. I've come to enjoy the nuclear reactions of fans during trade deadlines. The high strung fan has become one of my favorites to witness. We could trade for Ohtani, Scherzer, and Hader tonight and there will be a good handful of people whose response will be "BUT HOW IS THAT SUPPOSE TO HELP OUR 3B PRODUCTION?!?" I enjoy this.
  7. Whoever predicted Frelick, Monasterio, and Toro as the 4, 5, 6 before August got here please go to guest services to collect your prize.
  8. What? Why? Even taking away his on field contributions ... EVERYONE has pointed to him being a glue guy in the clubhouse. Gross.
  9. I understand where this convo is going now. Thanks for the chat! Night.
  10. I'm not disagreeing who has better stuff. But 185 big league innings and a career ERA of 5... 'only struggled when his command has been terrible' - with all due respect to Colin ... it seems like that is always. Maybe Boushley isn't the best guy to give the ball to then ... I suggested him because he has thrown 5 straight QS. I'm just saying we know what we are getting with Rea at this point. Maybe try something else is all I'm after.
  11. But that's more so my point. Alexander came up last year and his first few starts were serviceable. No book on him. If there is a scout on Rea at this point and he is going to pitch 4 innings and give up 5 runs ... might as well throw a different arm at them and hope for an Alexander like first start or two. That's all I'm saying.
  12. Boushley has thrown 5 consecutive QS in Nashville. Give him the ball for a game or two if we need someone rather than Colin I think.
  13. Really interesting point they brought up earlier in the game that Burnes is throwing to a familiar catcher for the first time this year. First two starts were with Contreras. If this is actually a thing, I think it's a no brainer to have Caratini be Burnes' catcher moving forward.
  14. In your opinion! It's always important to notify you are stating an opinion! Particularly when the opinion is incorrect. 26 yrs old and thus far in his short MLB career his WAR is above replacement. Happy Easter!
  15. When the bullpen can potentially use a break in 5 days and Woodruff throws 7 and 1/3 because his arm is fresh... remember this moment.
  16. More so, I'm not sure Craig plays Turang over the vet Kolton if he is still on the roster? In a way, this trade is Turang + Winker + Toro for Wong. In a way.
  17. He has done this 3x/game for the last 8 years. I found it aggravating for the first 2 seasons I noticed he was doing it, then became fond of the 'aloofness' the same way I like listening to my grandfather try to tell a story. That is no knock on anyone. I care about Uecker more than most of my family.
  18. Are there any current ballplayers in the minors or otherwise named Bill Schroeder that we can grab quick to fill out this lineup? Illogical thinking but I might be up for it. It has worked once...
  19. Can you imagine the timeline where Nelson stays healthy and continues his trajectory and he meets up with this staff a few years ago?
  20. You guys remember when pitchers had to hit? lol. What a life that was.
  21. Winker gone after 1 year and Yelich to DH so Frelick, Wiemer, Mitchell can handle the OF next year is the most likely scenario IMO.
  22. In limited at bats Voit is hitting .375 against Max ... I wonder if he gets his first start today and gives Rowdy a minute to breathe. Although I understand the LH/RHP thing and having it only be about 15 tough at bats thus far..
  23. Was at the game today, just getting home. I will remember the Turang GS for a long, long time. The crowd was juiced. I love when they demand a curtain call and the next at bat is already 2 pitches in. Freddy was awesome. These rookies are so flippin' fast. Brian Anderson (the player) not making us miss Urias is a nice surprise. Jesse Winker professional hitter. Bottom half of the order is so exciting right now. When Rowdy, Contreras, etc are hitting ... I'm constantly counting going "when do the kids get back up" I still love Dan Vogelbach. 3-1 start. Feels great.
  24. scoring bunches of runs without home runs involved is just fun to watch. i would also like to say that i love home runs.
