  1. A smaller piece to this but something that should NOT be overshadowed is that the chemistry in the clubhouse should be really, really good. This helps indefinitely during the grind. Signing 'Cutch has that intangible added to it. Everywhere he has gone it is said he is an all-time teammate.
  2. It seems like most of Tom's co-workers enjoyed him and I'm sure he is a good guy but unfortunately he really didn't have a good grasp on how to handle new age media, specifically Twitter, and in today's game you need to be able to maneuver Twitter if you are a beat writer. I think Curt will be amazing.
  3. Hey, cheers to us in the valley. I grew up going to church in NL. Go Crew!
  4. Where is your hometown? I'm from Hortonville.
  5. I'm not sure you can say that authoritatively. They freed up 9-10 million (again pending a closer look on my end on the deferrals), which is basically what got them Wong last year, who WAS an impact player. More from Stearns: "There are some funds now that are freed up. (Owner) Mark (Attanasio) and the rest of our ownership group have been consistent and supportive if there's an opportunity that makes sense, we're free to discuss them and pursue them." Another impact bat to the middle of this lineup and things are looking great. Schwarber.
  6. I would hire 11 hitting coaches if it meant they could find the flaw in Yelich' swing and get him back to elite. I don't hate the idea of more eyes on the guys though ... curious how they will co-exist when opinions differ.
  7. Another 2 or 3 years and the Angels probably have two in the top 10 with Ohtani and Trout. If the Angels ever get just league average pitching that team would be dangerous. where can i find these numbers?
  8. Anderson threw 38 pitches tonight, 21 for strikes. Strickland threw 27 pitches tonight, 22 for strikes. That was a gold star 2 innings from Strick.
  9. He was the guy I wanted Chicago to shell out a lot of money for. It would’ve been perfect. I'm still holding out hope. He has just about punched his ticket out of NY with his latest rhetoric. Chicago might be the only place who will take him.
  10. Statement series thus far from Milwaukee. The thought of being able to set our pitching staff for a playoff series is really, really nice. *knocking on wood* ... let's pour it on.
  11. Well there is no looking back now. Good to see you this early in August, Rollie.
  12. 'Very poor breaking ball'... he threw one curve that was slapped into right field. Every other pitch was a fastball.
  13. Still humming it up there 95+. This is one of the most random/fun things we've had happen in a good while.
  14. This was posted yesterday:
  15. Fully expect the Dodgers to claim him now Didn't end up getting anything out of the Orlando Arcia trade. Neither did the Braves really so far either, though. We did get an initial look at Urias full time because of the trade and after a rough month 'panic' traded for Adames. So maybe a silver lining look at the trade... but still.
  16. Stearns specifically said after the Escobar trade they would look at playing him at 1st even though he never has and that Escobar was open to it.
  17. 'Sprinting' is being pretty generous. He looked like he was using an elliptical.
  18. 82 career MLB innings. 83k/21bb. Under control for awhile. Has been pitching well. Good get.
  19. Quasi-interesting that the Mets are currently playing the Reds. Baez will be greeted by Amir Garrett. Fireworks in his first game with NY would be appropriate.
  20. I love the fans that don't allow ANY moves to be made unless they equal another level of move by another team.
