  1. Well Bush looked like the best pitcher in baseball for those 3 hitters. Well done.
  2. I'm not doubting you at all, but those were not the numbers I had seen. Where did you get those if I can ask?
  3. Suter is making $2.7mil this year and is Arby eligible next year. Love him and he will get another shot with another team, but I would agree I would want him in the dugout or front office immediately when he decides to hang it up. With that said, seems an obvious place to save some money and go with a younger guy next season. Boushley gets lefties out at a great rate in AAA and can go multiple innings ... he is a cheap internal option.
  4. Gosh. That seemed like a weird block attempt but that could not have felt good. Hope he doesn't have ringing for the next while. Best of luck young man!
  5. Consider me interested. Only 27, two 30 HR seasons under his belt already... he is striking out a lot right now though. His barrel % remains very good. Career .820 OPS against LHP.
  6. Yeah, this was my fault. I was looking at his dWAR, not his overall WAR. His dWAR has been negative in 4 out of 5 seasons. I'll walk this one back.
  7. I mean, that's exactly what you implied .... you just inflated the delivery to join the outrage I think.
  8. I think it's funny that 70% of Brewers fans had no idea who Kelly and Peters were 48 hours ago and now they are all outraged that we parted with them. Also, please stop including Hosmer in the list of "bats we could have had cheap". Hosmer posted a positive season WAR one time in San Diego and is negative again this year, adding a bat just to say you added a bat isn't the goal. If you wanted him as a bench coach though, that's cool with me.
  9. Well, sure. But you said you were severely disappointed we didn't add anyone. But also now that you'd rather exit the playoffs with our future intact. So more or less you are dissipointed no team would give us a productive power bat for a package built around Ethan Small and Joey Wiemar.
  10. I guess I'm a little confused. Which middle of the order bat could we have added that wouldn't have cost the prospects you didn't want to give up?
  11. How many more of these do you need before you will move on in this thread? We get it you don't like the guy. Don't go the games or stop watching or whatever you need to do. This thread is about the trade and the big league club. You've made your feelings known.
  12. Still time left. 40 man roster is FULL+ ... Stearns isn't done dealing.
  13. But how do you feel about the trade? I don't think you have given your opinion yet..
  14. the brewers didn't call you to get your opinion before the trade?
  15. The addition of Ruiz gives us 4 AAA outfielders who have decent trade value.. I imagine the willingness to trade any or all of Frelick, Wiemer, and Mitchell all just went up with Ruiz in the fold (or Ruiz!). I feel like I've championed for Whit Merrifield for about 4 years now at every deadline. I still think he makes some sense here. Any chance we could pry Kelenic away from Seattle for a reasonable cost and let him come home and reset?
  16. Oh, geez. I'm stupid. Sorry man, my fault.
  17. Umm, do you know how many 6-7 inning guys there are in all of baseball right now? Burnes averages just over 6ip per start this season. Woodruff is just over 5. Lauer 5 1/2. Houser 5. Woodruff was 5th in Cy Young voting last year and he didn't average 6ip/start. Asking for that as a throw in 4th piece to a trade is a little out of touch with current player builds. There are less than 25 guys like that in all of baseball and those guys are all elite. The Barry Zito/Bronson Arroyo 'mid 4 ERA but will eat up 7 innings every start' pitchers are no longer a thing in today's game.
  18. You said it right away and I agree that the roster will be manipulated a time or two before the deadline tomorrow. I started thinking about corresponding moves to accompany this trade but stopped quickly as I realized we will have more trades and names to finagle(sp?) in the coming hours..
  19. Big league club just hit their halfway mark so we can use that for the minors I suppose. Chourio is getting the latest hype but I think Weimer has to be our first half position player of the year. Cam Robinson was great to watch up here in Appleton but Boushley might be the MVP of the entire Sounds team. I'm going with Boushley and Weimer as our first half pitching and position players of the year. Thoughts?
  20. I'm not sure what else Boushley has to do to be the next guy called. He has outpitched Small in the last 6 weeks.
  21. Boushley is earning a call up ahead of Lindblom at this point. His last 4 starts have been really, really good.
  22. Expanded: Drew Rasmussen and JP Feyereisen for Willy Adames and Rowdy Tellez. Graded.
  23. If he is missing significant time, Small has to be the guy I think. If they do go with Ashby to the rotation, one wild card name that could be in play to fill the long man bullpen spot is Caleb Boushley. Reverse splits on him so far this year, lefties are hitting under .200 against him. With Suter struggling the Brewers options to get lefties out is limited. Doesn't really walk guys either. Just a note.
