  1. We all were expecting one decent starting pitcher, right? That didn't happen. This...all of this. As much as I wanted a "big" move, I would have been perfectly happy with a couple of Tanner Roark type acquisitions for the rotation. Instead they want to be taken seriously in a pennant race, when the only acquisition they make to their starting rotation is Jordan Lyles?? Really?? . 5 IP, 1 ER.
  2. For sure. I just don't trust Thames as a long term answer at first. At the end of last year, it looked like he never saw a bat before in his life And shaw scares me more. But I guess they are a lot easier to replace I think we see more of Grandal there? Braun possibly? Freitas coming up? Lot of internal options to make the move (trading Aguilar) reasonable.
  3. I kind of like Lange. Not a top or maybe even mid rotation dude but seems like he should wear a big league uniform someday? Shrug move, takes an arm + out of the Cubs farm and they have a marginal upgrade at the MLB level.
  4. Per Ken Rosenthal. I guess Dubon starts in their AAA? I had half assumed he would get a chance right away.
  5. Per Ken Rosenthal
  6. He had to hit to stay here. Brewer's MO has been versatility and Aguilar had none. If he didn't hit ... he just wasn't going to be given a long leash. I can also see him being a nice piece for TB.
  7. Because he isn't Ozzie Smith.
  8. What do you know that we don't? You seem to be the most mad about everything so obviously you have some kind of inside info that Tanner Roark was available to us at a reduced price and Stearns said no or something? Did the Mets offer Thor for Dubon and Supak and we turned it down? What do you know that we don't?
  9. How many times are you going to write nearly the exact same thing. Give it up man.
  10. If you believe in Arcia, as the Brewers seem to do, then Dubon has no place in MKE ... I hope 29 yr old Ray Black makes this trade worth it!
  11. brewerfan07 losing his (insert your own word) 30 minutes ago because Stearns sitting on his hands... will love to get his take here in a minute.
  12. It is a sad story. However, it's one that happens to about 90%+ of a teams "top prospects". There are only a limited number of MLB jobs and if you are not the best of the best, learn from your failures, make adjustments, etc., you simply don't make it. Example: Here are the Brewers top 20 prospects from 5 years ago, 2014. 1. OF Tyrone Taylor= Sad Story, AAAA type player. 2. SS Orlando Arcia= Over-hyped, fringe MLBer, Alcides Escobar 2.0 career likely (still hope for more) 3. LHP Kodi Medeiros= Pending Sad Story 4. 3B Jake Gatewood= Sad Story ... 17. RHP Marcos Diplan= Sad Story 18. RHP David Goforth= Sad Story 19. LHP Jarrett Martin= Don't even remember him, Sad Story 20. SS Yadiel Rivera= Sad Story and so on... And I'm not making fun of your post in anyway, BTW, just pointing out how difficult it is to make MLB, even as a hyped-prospect. I didn't take offense at all to your post. But it brings up a pretty good conversation though I think. Given this list and its accuracy across almost all organizations - as a rule with few exceptions - shouldn't you ALWAYS be dealing from your prospect lists below about #10 on your list for known commodities then? I know there are a lot of factors, etc but if you can get cheap/usable/reasonable MLB talent for an unknown commodity (and for this argument's sake, a likely non factor commodity)... Seems like a Ponce for Lyles trade is a good once simply on that principle, even if Lyles ends up pitching only 30ish meh innings for us this year. Getting major league ball players for non major league ballplayers.
  13. The hype, etc on Diplan really is a sad story. Had a favorable ceiling for awhile..
  14. Best on base percentage on the team last year. #lethimswingcraig
  15. I think our front office may have had a communication mix up when Stearns put out the memo to go get a "wily veteran"...
  16. I would argue this is a fantastic start to his Cubs career...
  17. You wanted to give Perez a chance to make the team as a pitcher?
  18. Given his MVP like 2018 first half .. can't imagine we couldn't get a low level arm or something for him. It wouldn't be much, but I agree the writing is on the wall and getting cash or anything would be better then just letting him walk.
  19. Yeah this is a big decision short term with long term implications. Brewers currently up in the central. I hope Shaw rakes!
  20. Can someone speak on Hiura's Super 2 status? Doesn't sending him down for a few weeks save us a bunch of future cash?
  21. Nelson starting Wednesday for the Crew .. per Craig Counsell ... per Haudricourt.
