  1. Can anyone give an honest memory of the Astros fan reaction when Hader was included in that deal to MKE? There are only so many arms that come through the minors that are that electric. The way Brewers' fans protected Burnes during the trade deadline last year is the way I would think Hader's arm would have been protected during that time ... but I can't remember at all.
  2. Truthfully, if you told me we were getting a big pay raise with the new sponsor and that is the reason contracts like Grandal's would be accepted by ownership .. then fine.
  3. I'm also wondering if they'll start selling Busch products at the stadium. All sorts of gross...... Directly after "NOOOOO!!!" ... this was actually my first thought. I wonder if their ability to sell alternate beer varieties is now wide open? Wisconsin is knee-deep in the craft beer movement ... they could probably do really by offering unqiue Wisconsin brands and otherwise. Going to a game and drinking craft beer is probably a big turn on for a lot of folks. Still, I will always call it Miller Park I think.
  4. I'm really excited for his bat. Such a great annual candidate for "left handed hitter who comes to Miller Park and power numbers jump" (see: Shaw, Yelich, Lind, Thames, etc etc) 27, 22, 24 HR's the last 3 seasons hitting in Dodgers Stadium... we just added a 30HR bat at the catcher position hitting in Miller Park. Pretty awesome. A .245/.345/.475 with 30 HRs isn't an unreasonable estimate if he stays healthy, correct? Let's gooo!
  5. I'm just a dumb boy who doesn't know anything about anything... but it feels good to have a hunch go your way once in awhile
  6. What timeline are we looking at for Dubon?
  7. Agreed. If you are going to carry a 10 man bullpen, then use them. Fresh arms probably would've won this game. Burnes?
  8. Cedeno induces a 6 hop ground ball that gets through the shift and he is lit up here as being useless. This board is almost as entertaining as the game.
  9. Part of me thinks Counsell is pulling one on Roberts and letting Miley go 6 or 7 tonight to keep Bellinger and Muncy on the bench and waste them for almost a full game. Gosh I love mind games.
  10. Cedeno will be needed tonight. Bellinger will be coming off the bench, I'm guessing in a big spot. No Grandal as well. Puig in the lineup. Let the mind games continue! I love baseball.
  11. Our pen is in great shape all things considered. We don't have Hader and Woodruff. Didn't use Burnes at all. If Miley can give us 3 we have Burnes to bridge. We just need an inning and maybe two from the other 5ish guys. I'm really happy with what is available for game 2.
  12. Let's go.
  13. Have absolutely no idea what to expect. Both teams rested. We are getting their ace and one of the best in baseball, yet I feel like we are a better than 50/50 shot tonight. Does the dream season continue? Let's go Crew!
  14. It very well could. It also could very well have the opposite affect. If Attanasio played it correctly and walked into Stearns' office after that phone call from SF and said "Hey, SF called. They want to talk to you about being the head of everything out there. I love you and want you to give me a year to construct a package that you can't refuse so I told them no. Let's go get a ring and then talk about what you need so your long term future is in Milwaukee."... I can see how Stearns would be happy with the denial of such a request.
  15. Not saying you are right or wrong, but he tore down and rebuilt to a title contender in 3 years. While other GM's have been successful, there are not that many examples in the last few decades of a short term body of work that is as good as what he has done given the scenario, financial ability, etc. The sky isn't falling if he leaves, but it will be a terrible day for us if/when he does. In my very humble opinion, he is one and maybe two steps ahead of where baseball is heading in terms of roster construction and usage, etc and we are so much better off having him.
