  1. Chase Anderson? (got numbers for him too?) Sorry, I'm a terrible person. There was an entire next page of starts that I missed. Gio's stats are the same. Guerra has faced them 3 times. 16 1/3 IP. 2 ER. Brewers 3-0. Chase. 2 appearances. 9 IP. 5 ER. 4 HR's. Brewers 1-1. Chacin's stats are the same. Davies 2 appearances. 10 2/3 IP. 11 ER. Brewers 0-2. Miley's stats are the same.
  2. By the way, I'm not advocating starting Hader with the above. Just throwing numbers onto the fire. I think pitchers are head cases and the idea of starting Hader or Burnes in a must win one game playoff might be a little too much for them to sleep on. Let the starter go once through the order or until he gets in trouble. Then Hader/Burnes/Knebel/Cedeno until it is time for Jeffress to seal up the season.
  3. Chacin has faced the Cardinals 4 times this year. About 20 innings and 14 ER. Brewers are 2-2 in those games, losing badly twice (6-0 and 7-2) and winning close in the other two (2-1 and 5-4). Miley has faced STL once, a 7-2 loss in which he gave up 4 R (1 ER) in 5 innings. Davies one start. 6-1 loss. 5 IP 5 ER. Gio has one start (With WASH). 6-4 loss. 4 IP 5 ER. Hader has thrown 6 1/3 innings allowing 1 ER while striking out 16. Do with that information what you will.
  4. In 2 pinch hit at bats has Domingo taken Thames' playoff roster spot?
  5. Even if we don't get the benefits of the new stadium as a previous poster mentioned the 'free agent market' for AAA teams is right when this 2 year deal is up ...so my take is: 1) Get out of CS 2) Upgrade nicely in 2020. This does the first and sets us up to the 2nd in the near future.
  6. Baez plays for the Cubs. I guess that is my point... is his inclusion in the MVP talk simply to keep a large market of fans excited in that conversation? Stepping back and being as impartial as possible... If I had to start a team from scratch and add players 2018 years to my roster... Baez isn't a top 10 choice for me. Cain is more deserving than Baez.
  7. I guess I'm not understanding the decision between Yelich and Baez at this point. Yelich has him in almost every offensive category, a few of which by a considerable margin. The spots Baez has the lead are mostly marginal leads. Yelich beats him in WAR as well, which is a better read on a player's value adding defense, no? Baez has the defensive versatility at a premium position on Yelich and that's about it. Honest question, what am I missing?

  9. Another chance to repeat as World Champions
  10. I agree that the Dodgers make it in one way or another. I just don't see the Rockies being good enough to hold on to the division. I think it's the Rockies or Cards for the second WC. If the Dodgers are going to get in, might as well bury the Cards on the way. I'm on this train as well. I think LA is winning that division ... so my hope now is that Colorado can stay above the Cardinals ... I want LA winning the next two if at all possible. If the brewers can't win the division I would love Colorado coming into Milwaukee in a playoff.
  11. But with that said if we are discussing a post season 25 ... the Cubs and Dodgers are both left handed heavy starting rotations. Thames wouldn't be starting in those games either. The only series he would have a chance of getting consecutive stars is Atlanta and at this point you would start Granderson in the OF over him.
  12. This 4 game set with STL and LAD is a nice thing. If one team takes 3 of 4 or better than the other is in a really tough spot. If they split... then neither is likely (knock on wood) of gaining any ground on us. Easy way to tick a couple off of the magic number without much thought.
  13. Just me, but I am taking Santana over Thames as a bench bat 10 out of 10 times once the playoffs hit and if we are down on Santana I am still taking Broxton for the pinch running and defensive option he provides.
  14. I think this is correct. With the offensive/defensive options we will have available to us ... I'd rather keep a guy like Broxton over Jacob Barnes if it came down to it for the NLDS. The NLCS we might do the opposite.
  15. 5 hits for the top of the lineup already in the 3rd. Really hope it ends up translating to more than 1 run!
  16. The thought of slipping by the Cubs and having them eliminated in a one game playoff is giving me so much energy during this stretch run.
  17. Couldn't we argue it would be better for them to play today. Had a double header yesterday and this gives all their pitchers a day off before us. Yes, but I'm assuming we get Montgomery now tomorrow. We hit him hard last time if I remember correctly.
  18. I mean, I'm not mad at soria... slow roller to short that arcia threw away and a flare into right that yelich dove over. Neither of those really were his fault.
