I know ... once Gomez figures out what he is doing at the plate I'm ok with a quasi platoon ... but I trust Morgan to give productive at bats at this point, even against a lefty, much more than I trust Gomez.
Ahh.... how beautiful would it be to get a win against the Reds with our #5 starter. Come on Narveson! I hope Hart has recovered and RR sticks with Morgan in CF so we can get a full lineup tonight. This would be a big win to start the series!
The first name in my head was Sixto Lezcano... now I have to look it up. The second name in my head was Tommy Harper.. because I know he had the first hit in Brewer's history and he had some wheels. *shrugs* *edit* .. Harper hit one in June of 1970. I don't know if that was the first ... but I can't find any that were any earlier... I'll have to wait to see the answer in the next half inning.I don't think Craig and Bill ever answered the question.Well done http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Clearly a move to obtain some intimidation in our bullpen. If we ever need to retaliate against someone for hitting one of our guys... we've got our guy now.
Axford is starting to worry me. Estrada has been the biggest surprise this season and I have confidence in him in the 6th and 7th. K Loe should get a two week vacation somewhere as a thank you for Roenicke pitching him everyday. We need a healthy Saito back.
The "beaned"/"beamed" thing drives me nuts too. You get beaned! Beaned! Also, I broke my nose when I got hit in the face with a baseball in high school... the most confusing pain I've ever been through. Wouldn't wish it upon anyone.
I agree with whomever said 2 out of 3 would be great. If we can get the Reds below .500 it would be a good thing. Hopefully they can go in a mini slump and get frustrated a little bit... tonight's game would be really nice.
Are there any teams who are injured at the catching position right now who would deal anything for GK or WN? I can't think of any injuries off the top of my head ...
I realize I was a part of it ... but this thread has deflated my opening day spirit a bit. I apologize to those who it did the same to. Go Crew. Knock 'em dead Yo.
Again, I'm not saying I agree with the decision... but I thought it was obvious that Kotsay was going to be given the start. I take back what I said because it is pretty apparent this wasn't the case.
