  1. He is listed 5'7 175lb and his name is Jett. I can't imagine he hits the ball far. *edit* 17 HRs last year. I apologize.
  2. I interpreted this as we keep him this year, next year gets locked out, then he is a FA going into the 2028 season (his age 32) season ... and with added revenue sharing we could possibly afford to give him a deal then.
  3. He would be looking for a long term commitment. Would we want to sign Freddy Peralta to a 5yr deal into his late 30s?
  4. Does a potential lockout play into this at all? If we get locked out next year and free agency freezes.. Freddy can't sign with anyone so we wouldn't get a draft pick for him until potentially the 2028 draft then? If that return this year can be great and we get guys into our system now vs having to wait two/three full seasons... I dunno, just pondering.
  5. They are revealing it daily. I think tonight will be 41-60 if I'm not mistaken. Turang was #62!
  6. Nice courtesy move by them to put Turang one slot ahead of Freddy so we don't have to say we traded one of our 3 best players this year ;)
  7. Would you have given up Pratt, Ebel, + for Cabrera? Not disagreeing with you, but that's the relative comp.
  8. I had the same read on him. I guess my "let's wait and see' stance now is that him being the head coach and calling shots for the ~youngest of an organization's prospects (caretaker) might vary drastically from taking orders from Murphy? I could be very wrong about that.
  9. Can't comment on how well he will do but as a Fox Valley born and raised... seeing Erickson everyday on the field will be a small pride thing.
  10. Sveum I have never sent Wikipedia money to help keep it afloat... But if you ever decide you might not be able to post here anymore due to time/money reasons I will start the collection up on your behalf. Your additions to this board are incredible.
  11. The Pirates are on Marte's no trade list unfortunately.
  12. Holy smokes - Baz went for the Orioles #6, 10, 11, 30 prospects and a Comp A balance pick? Baz is no slouch obviously but wow! The Orioles have/had a decent system too. I am really curious what offers Arnold is going to have on the table for Freddy. I know our system is a few steps better than Baltimore's but just in terms of comparing numbers this would be (6)Fischer, (10)Dinges, (11)Ebel, (30)Jose Anderson and a 1st* rd pick for Baz? That is so steep.
  13. I am open to many possibilities BUT if Bill is going to catch a million games this year I am very open to either 1) signing someone like Haase to a vet minimum as he will only catch once a week at most 2) sign the best backup bat you can find (a la Gary Sanchez) but keep Siegler as an emergency so you can pinch hit said bat at will.
  14. I never want to make trades just to make trades and I do understand how winter works for us often enough... But (for better or for worse) I am glad Arnold gave us all something to fight about for a week with this deal. Happy Holidays to you all and here is to hoping Arnold throws another curveball at us before the year is over so we have something to bicker about leading into the New Year. I miss Brewers' baseball.
  15. If you had to guess right now how many at bats Baddoo is going to get for the Brewers in 2026 - what would your guess be?
  16. Oh I didn't know what positions they played.
  17. I thought it was dripping enough to not need a blue font but my apologies for not altering the text color.
  18. The Brewers got a cheap controlled rotation piece and all it cost us was Mears and Collins?!?
  19. I'm not doubting you, but can you link to where you got that information? Yelich was 12th in MVP voting this past season and he played roughly 10-12% of his games out in LF. Unless it was acknowledged elsewhere that he is hitting only - I would think we want to just copy/paste that plan (sans playoffs).
  20. I know a lot of people don't like evaluating trades in the aggregate with domino effect... But our 40 man was crunched and this also opens a spot. Many will just plug Baddoo in and call it Mears/Collins for Zerpa/Baddoo.. but in my eyes this opened 2 major league roster spots and we have only filled one of them So Mears/Collins for Zerpa/? Stay tuned.
  21. It's December 13th. I promise you this won't be our opening day 40 man.
  22. Zerpa slides in as the 5th to last name in Brewers' history alphabetically only ahead of the Zimmerman's, Pete Zoccolillo and your A level trivia answer... Eddie Zosky. Will be the 8th player with a last name starting with Z in team history. If Zastryzny can hold his roster spot we would have quite the lefty combo. "The Sleep Brothers" "Double Nyquil" "ZZ Top"... something something snore?... I dunno I need a drink.
  23. My biggest push back against trading Contreras this year as opposed to next is the young pitching that performed well this year. Priester, Miz, Henderson, Patrick, etc ... a deal would have to knock me into next week to agree to get rid of the chemistry/understanding Contreras had with them. There is a decently strong argument we are protecting our rotation for the next 3-5 years by keeping Contreras for one more. Let the kids gain confidence and learn one more year with Bill and then let the cards fall where they may..
