  1. I'm not positive but I think the twins might only have like 16 guys on their 40-man roster after today.
  2. You all just wait until some under performing SS is DFA'd to make room for someone who was just acquired and we scoop him up and he hits .315 the rest of the way for us ...
  3. So I think we were officially sellers today, no?
  4. I secretly enjoy it as well. Same as Packers FA ... everyone knows what is about to happen but get all worked up over the dreams of what could be, then explode of what never is. I feel bad a little for them.
  5. The Padres have no prospects left... this might be a big leaguer for big leaguer deal.
  6. Oh this will be rich. I'm sure fans here will love that we added prospects at the deadline haha
  7. A lot of people around here know ball.
  8. I know it was never going to happen with Miller... but there were about 18 minutes last week when I dreamt of adding Mason Miller and then moving Miz to the pen and we would close down every game with Uribe, Miz, Megill, Miller. It would have been the most must watch bullpen configuration of all time.
  9. You know the first two wins of this series were demoralizing for the Cubs because they weren't competitive games.. But this one is actually going to send them into panic mode when we come back. This one will hurt the worst.
  10. haha, I love it when this board collectively pouts over a decision and is proven wrong.
  11. There is a point where it just isn't working in your org and you have to cut bait, even if that means he flourishes elsewhere. It isn't exactly the same .. but if Hiura had taken off somewhere else and became a very good big league bat - I would have been happy for him.
  12. Just as we all suspected, this is turning into an easy contract tender decision for Vaughn and we will have a 'cheap' first baseman next year.
  13. Gasser in his first Rattlers rehab tonight: 2ip 1h, 0r, 4k
  14. The strange events that have been this season are kind of crazy. All of the injuries early kind of force our hand into a trade for Priester who has possibly been our best pitcher... Which is saying something because our pitching has been awesome. Then I agree with everything you just said on top of it.
  15. We will see how it plays out but if Haase can get over the hurt of being cut... he should accept the assignment and we will keep the depth in AAA. Jansen is an upgrade, be it marginal, so this does help the squad on paper. Low key silver lining if Haase does accept the demotion... Having him working with Myers, Henderson, Patrick, etc in Nashville will be a benefit.
  16. Unfortunately this just wasn't true this year. .229/.289/.357 with an OPS+ of 82. Haase was 4-25 this year against lefties. I know he hasn't even had 100 at bats but still... He wasn't helping at the plate. Jansen hits lefties and has some pop. Even if small, he is an upgrade. Also, I hope Haase can find himself in Major League job but I just don't know who would give it to him at this point. In all likelihood he accepts the assignment and is in Nashville for us in a couple of weeks so we'll keep the depth.
  17. Feel bad for him for the yanking around but we might have a new arm in tomorrow and Yoho might be back in the music city.
  18. Yoho walked one and they got Megill up to throw ... so just throw him if you were going to make him warm up regardless.
