  1. Were you expecting a top 5 prospect return for Luis Urias?
  2. I've come to enjoy the nuclear reactions of fans during trade deadlines. The high strung fan has become one of my favorites to witness. We could trade for Ohtani, Scherzer, and Hader tonight and there will be a good handful of people whose response will be "BUT HOW IS THAT SUPPOSE TO HELP OUR 3B PRODUCTION?!?" I enjoy this.
  3. Whoever predicted Frelick, Monasterio, and Toro as the 4, 5, 6 before August got here please go to guest services to collect your prize.
  4. What? Why? Even taking away his on field contributions ... EVERYONE has pointed to him being a glue guy in the clubhouse. Gross.
  5. I understand where this convo is going now. Thanks for the chat! Night.
  6. I'm not disagreeing who has better stuff. But 185 big league innings and a career ERA of 5... 'only struggled when his command has been terrible' - with all due respect to Colin ... it seems like that is always. Maybe Boushley isn't the best guy to give the ball to then ... I suggested him because he has thrown 5 straight QS. I'm just saying we know what we are getting with Rea at this point. Maybe try something else is all I'm after.
  7. But that's more so my point. Alexander came up last year and his first few starts were serviceable. No book on him. If there is a scout on Rea at this point and he is going to pitch 4 innings and give up 5 runs ... might as well throw a different arm at them and hope for an Alexander like first start or two. That's all I'm saying.
  8. Boushley has thrown 5 consecutive QS in Nashville. Give him the ball for a game or two if we need someone rather than Colin I think.
  9. Except the lineup additions of Winker and Contreras really did nothing to our payroll so we should, assumably, still have a move or two ahead of us for our starting lineup before the season starts. I actually really like the current lineup as presented as well - but I think and hope another improvement awaits.
  10. The ONLY downside I see to this trade is that a lot of fans are going to raise their expectations of what 'good' trades look like. It will make any future moves a bit of a burden to read these boards. "That's it? We got Contreras + 2 arms for Ruiz and all we got for XX was YY?!" I'm kidding but I'm not but you know what I mean. What a day.
  11. Walters to the Angels. Have the Brewers really not made a trade with Colorado since '04?
  12. This is a random thought. I'd be curious what the rate of 3 sports high school athletes are in the colder climates vs the warmer ones. I am making this up, but it would make sense that the further south you go, the easier it is to access year round competition in a sport if you are wanting to specialize. Up here in the cold, you have to go south to play any kind of competitive baseball past October or before April. I wonder if there is a correlation.

  14. I think the point is that the author made it seem like we will have a long long time to wait for a WI kid to be on our mound again and, as pointed out, we have a AAA arm currently in the system. So 'long time' in reality could be a flu bug in the clubhouse next week.

  16. Wisconsin only has one D1 collegiate baseball program in the state, at UW-Milwaukee. That shouldn't be overlooked... even our best in state talent has to get recruited out of state if they want to develop. There are a few dozen D3 kids from Wisconsin college floating around the high minors and a dozen or so in the last decade that have made the big leagues... but it matters when you don't have D1 schools to recruit and develop your in state talent that wasn't highly recruited out of high school.

  18. I love the fans that don't allow ANY moves to be made unless they equal another level of move by another team.
  19. In Stearns' comments about the Escobar trade he talked about the importance of covering themselves in all scenarios for the stretch run. This seems like one of those insurance deals to get another lefty in the pen in case we need one down the way maybe?
  20. We all were expecting one decent starting pitcher, right? That didn't happen. This...all of this. As much as I wanted a "big" move, I would have been perfectly happy with a couple of Tanner Roark type acquisitions for the rotation. Instead they want to be taken seriously in a pennant race, when the only acquisition they make to their starting rotation is Jordan Lyles?? Really?? . 5 IP, 1 ER.
  21. Because he isn't Ozzie Smith.
  22. What do you know that we don't? You seem to be the most mad about everything so obviously you have some kind of inside info that Tanner Roark was available to us at a reduced price and Stearns said no or something? Did the Mets offer Thor for Dubon and Supak and we turned it down? What do you know that we don't?
  23. How many times are you going to write nearly the exact same thing. Give it up man.
  24. If you believe in Arcia, as the Brewers seem to do, then Dubon has no place in MKE ... I hope 29 yr old Ray Black makes this trade worth it!
