  1. Nice to see Gamel hit his first AAA bomb.
  2. Not that I don't love Cain, but I'm not sure how good of an idea it is to be trading JJ, he has shown the ability to carry our offense for weeks at a time. Also from what I've heard throughout his major and minor league career, he is a great team leader, and someone who is a very valuable piece of a ballclub, kind of like Jeter. I really think that the Brewers are going to keep Fielder, Braun, Hart, and Hardy together as long as possible, and build around them. However if we did do the deal wouldn't we be saving money by trading Hardy for Cain? It would probably allow us to resign Sheets, or sign somebody like Lowe or Oliver Perez to be the #3 starter to make our rotation even better than this year.
  3. No. What about a different prospect like Salome, Jeffress, Escobar, Gamel or Braddock?
  4. Why would the LAA not pick up Lackey's option? He is one of the best starters in the league.
  5. So do we know for sure if any of these 4 players are actually on the list? Is there a chance that it could be a lesser prospect?
  6. I'd like to see Sheets resigned if at all possible, espcecially if he would take a little less to stay here. I think a Sheets, Gallardo, Parra, Bush, and Suppan rotation is still very good. If Sheets can't be resigned, I would like to make a deal for Greinke or Cain, but then we would probably have to give up Gamel of Escobar.
  7. C-Kendall 1B-Prince 2B-Weeks ss-Hardy 3B-Kevin Kouzmanoff (if available) LF-Braun CF-Cameron RF-Hart I think Kouzmanoff will be available this off season, he bats right handed, but hits righties better than lefties. His defense has improved tremendously since last season, the question is how much would it take to get him?
  8. IMO, a one year 10 million dollar contract is a great deal for a centerfielder who plays good defense and has an .840 OPS. I think Mike Cameron has been a great addition to the team, and I would pick up his option w/out question. I would keep the outfield the way it is next season, and then have Michael Brantley(if hes not the PTBNL) replace Mike Cameron the year after. I also wouldn't mind seeing Cole Gillespe up sometime during next season to be our 4th/5th outfielder.
  9. We worked out Anthony Randolph and Donte Greene, he wasn't the only guy we worked out. I also think Bogut has showed improvement from year to year, he developed into a good shot blocker last season. I really hope he starts to hit more open jumpers, I think this is the key to him becoming an elite center.
  10. I went to Westosha Central in Paddock Lake, WI, and graduated in 98'. We were the falcons and our colors were maroon and silver. Famous alumni from there are Misty Davis, who is a former playboy playmate, current ultimate fighter Ben Rothwell, who I went to high school with. Also Daryl Maday, who is a good friend of my sister, was drafted by the Brewers and didn't sign and is now playing w/ a Giants minor league affiliate. Our volleyball team is always really good, our baseball team won state a couple of years ago, but other than that our athletics aren't that good. I played soccer, and it was coed my freshman and sophomore year. Its hard to get college scouts out to watch a coed high school soccer team.
  11. I think most places including where I work have free delivery. Where do you order from?
  12. I don't understand how Alexander is considered that much of a reach. He was a first team all conference Big East guy that absolutely dominated for a good stretch of his junior season, and has shown unbelievable improvement from his freshman to junior year. I'll admit that he didn't look very good in the summer league, but I don't think he looked as bad as some people are saying. To me he was just trying to make passes and take the open shots, I would guess that he was trying to get acclimated in his first couple games as a pro. I will take what I saw of him in the Big East and NCAA tournament, and the praise that hes gotten from scouts and Bob Huggins over a few meaningless summer league games. I believe that Joe Alexander was the right pick, and will be a good NBA player.
  13. I make well below min. wage as a delivery guy, so I am pretty much counting on tips for salary. I agree that it is just as much or more work to deliver food to someones house as it is to wait on a table.
  14. Is that w/ or w/out Damon Jones and Adrian Griffen? Because I don't think you can really consider them part of the team next season. I disagree that they should be totally blown up if they don't win this season. Every core player is under 30, every guy over 30 isn't in the long term plans (Allen, Elson, Lue) and we have plenty of talented youth in Bogut, Sessions, Alexander, LRMAM and Villanueva if resigned. I would like to see them build around Redd, Jefferson and Bogut, and keep trying to find pieces for at least the next 2-3 seasons that fit well w/ them.
  15. I'm excited to see the Bucks w/ pass first point guards. I enjoyed watching Sessions at the end of last season, and summer league this year, and think he is going to be good. I also like the way Luke Ridnour plays, he is a fun guy to watch, although last season seemed to be a lost season for him w/ the rebuilding Sonics. I think he will thrive with guys like Redd, Jefferson and Villanueva who are all very good scorers. I think this was a good step forward for the Bucks, and I'm not going to miss Mo. His attitude was the complete opposite of the player he was in his first 2 years in Milwaukee. He went from being a guy that was all about the team w/ a great attitude, to a guy that was a locker room distraction and wanted it to be the Mo show last season. He'll be fine in Cleveland, but I really have high hopes for what Hammond is trying to do. I think and hope we will see a better brand of basketball in Milwaukee this season.
  16. I recently got a part time job delivering pizzas, and I have to say I really enjoy it. However I'm amazed at how little some people tip me. Whenever I order out I always tip the drivers at least 20%, I figure thats the least I can do since they are bringing food to my house. Am I tipping to much, or are others tipping to little?
  17. Yes, Finley is a free agent, and he would be my number one choice as the backup 2/3. Here are some other players that might be good options of the bench: J.R. Smith- Res. FA, not sure about the attitude issues, but the talent is definitely there. Denver would probably match, but are looking to save money, sign and trade? Bonzi Wells- I've always loved him as a player, but I'm not sure about how he is as a teammate. Carl Landry- Not really a wing player, but this would be a great signing if we could offer an expiring in a Sign and trade, he is also restricted. Would be eventual starter at the 4, leaving Charlie V. to come off the bench. Other guys that could be had for cheap are Kirk Snyder and Gordan Giricek, both don't really impress me.
  18. I think that might be a little extreme holybanana, but everybody has their opinion. Anyways, I was reading the mailbag from yesterday and I saw this Q/A with Anthony Witrado. I find it crazy that the beat reporter doesn't know that you can't trade draft picks. How many other things do you thinks he guesses on? JS ONLINE: SPORTS: BREWERS: E-MAIL | PRINT THIS STORY -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Jon C of Eau Claire - Hey Tom/Anthony, I was reading something about prospects/draft picks and it made me think....why don't MLB teams trade players for draft picks like they do in the NFL/NBA. you NEVER hear about a team trading a given draft pick, just for prospects that they already have in their farm system. Thanks A: Brewers Mailbag - Because draft picks of so coveted, and I imagine most teams would like a prospect instead of a draft pick that might never pan out. Trading away picks is bad for teams because then how else do they replenish the farm?
  19. Bench= Ridnour/Sessions, Lue, Bell, Alexander, Malik Allen, Fransico Elson. I don't think that Damon Jones and Adrian Griffen will be on the team, I'm guessing LRMAM will be in the D-league, and I'm hoping Gadz is either inactive or released. I don't think that they are done yet, however that is not the worst bench in all of pro sports. I think they are one athletic 2/3 that can shoot away from having a good bench. I would really like them to sign Michael Finley, IMO he would be the perfect fit.
  20. On Espn they are saying that the Bucks are getting Damon Jones, Luke Ridnour and Adrian Griffen. I'm pretty sure we didn't get Joe Smith. I don't like this trade unless Jones and Griffen are shipped along w/ Villanueva for an upgrade at power forward.
  21. I agree. I can't back a trade of a guy like Mo Williams for just expiring contracts, I think we need to get some value for him, and/or be able to unload Gadzuric in the deal. I would be a lot happier if Nick Collison or Chris Wilcox were in the deal. I also kind of like Luke Ridnour, but his play has seemed to slip in the last year or two. What happened to him? Another guys I wouldn't hate getting is Anderson Varajeo, although I'm not sure he'll ever be much more than an energy guy off the bench. I'm not a big fan of Delonte West, but I've heard Earl Watson's name mentioned a lot. Is he good.
  22. Just wondering why they would post this poll, "If the Brewers needed to add a hitter, would you favor a trade for Gary Sheffield?" I think this would be about the last thing that would happen, has anybody heard anything?
  23. 1. Fielder 2. Sheets 3. Braun 4. Hardy 5. Parra
  24. Does anyone know if there is a password or code to get a discount or waive the processing fee?
  25. I realize its only July 24th but I was thinking about this today, and a lot of names came to mind. Here is who I think will be: Gamel, Dillon, Rottino, Pena, Defelice, Dillard, Stetter, Nelson and Gwynn. You could also make a case for Salome, Gillespe and Nix. Also, what are the chances that Gamel and Stetter get brought up before September 1st, so they are playoff eligible?
