Roenicke wants me to think he's an idiot (Kotsay in CF)

Kotsay generally sees plenty of pitches per AB and has gotten on base at a really nice rate so far this season. There's really no reason why he should ever have to start in CF, but he's not nearly as bad a RF as everyone makes him out to be. If Kotsay is truly worthy of this level of universal assault it's time we start ganging up on Craig Counsell. Plus, a lot of people have an anti-Kotsay agenda they feel like they need to defend - the good things he does are ignored or discredited while his miscues are amplified and exaggerated. I'm not saying the guy should be getting anything more than the occasional PH appearance on this team, but he's really not insufferably bad. -
Brewers have to win this one, they've gotten every break. Would not like to be a Pirates fan right now.

Hope Jon enjoys the day off tomorrow. Did a nice job behind the plate with Narveson constantly in the dirt but has looked all sorts of awful at the plate today. He was due I suppose

Corey Hart vs. Karstens in 20 PA - .105/.150/.158. I still think he should be in the lineup, but Roenicke has a reason for his decision.

Everyone's going to hate it but since the roster spot is so temporary with Braddock returning soon it'll probably be Green. Not sure why the "short" bench is such a big deal when Brandon Boggs doesn't play at all. The only other option to me is Justin James but I'd think they'd rather keep him in AAA.

I don't think I've ever seen these guys swing through so many straight fastballs over the plate...oh well, great job by Braun there to get a couple across.

McDonald reminds me of a right-handed Manny Parra. Good, hard fastball but dead straight. No consistent off-speed stuff

I feel like I'm the only one that's noticing positive trends in Gomez's recent ABs. Perhaps it's just the low standard he's set for himself...I wouldn't bank on Schafer or Komatsu progressing so quickly that a promotion is necessary by next summer. I really don't have a problem with a Gomez/Morgan timeshare next season with Morgan making most starts. I think that may prove to be quite the luxury for RR once Morgan heals again. -
I cannot fathom how that group of hitters mustered 23 hits. Talk about an off day for the pitching staff, holy lord god.
