  1. My thoughts are strictly concerning the postseason roster, so all Taylor Green discussion is basically nullified because I don't think he has a role unless they give up on McGehee (which isn't happening). Once Weeks returns the lineup looks pretty potent, especially if they ever come around to working Hairston in at SS. I actually like the bench situation once Gomez returns - yes, it lacks the HR threat but there's quite a bit for RR to work with there. WeeksMorganBraunFielderHartMcGeheeHairstonLucroy That's a lineup I can feel pretty good about.
  2. I probably shouldn't speak too soon, but this is as sharp as I've ever seen Gallardo. Really throwing it well today.
  3. Nice hit there, but I don't think Prince is such a great matchup vs. a knuckleballer, haha. He hasn't looked all that comfortable today.
  4. I don't know what to think about this one. The pitching staff finally hits a bump in the road but they still get a win. Hopefully this one gets the offense confident and rolling.
  5. Any hope or anticipation I had for him has officially expired. He's been spiraling down the depth chart as it is, so I don't think it's as big of a loss as we may have thought if this had happened before the season.
  6. I can get used to winning EVERY GAME. Geez. Thanks, soft schedule!
  7. Why on earth is Lucroy swinging there? Morton is all over the place.
  8. Mitch Williams is such a bozo. Someone take that microphone.
  9. This would be an all-time, legendary story if he were to go through with it. Don't let the money blind you Carlos!
  10. We've gotten used to 6+ innings from our starters lately...they're in a very good stretch of starting pitching but eventually someone will have a clunker. Considering the positional versatility of the bench I don't think the 6th option off the bench will see much playing time.
  11. PLEASE let this be the day that turns it around for Casey...they are a much better-looking team when he's right (obvious statement is obvious). Now let's see what excuses TLR can come up with for this one. THE LIGHTS WERE BRIGHTER IN HIS ABS.
  12. What's this business with La Russa filing a formal complaint about Miller Park's lighting? This is just too good to be true!
  13. Left-handed? Check. Veteran? Check. Better than Tim Dillard? Check. Makes too much sense to happen.
  14. Hopefully the Brewers didn't get used the the competition they got in the last six games. Different animal tonight.
  15. I like how all in one day Furcal isn't worth the trouble and Komatsu is nothing special. Got to love winning streaks.
  16. Happ threw some brutally awful pitches there and no one made him pay for it. So annoying.
  17. Was really hoping for Carroll, but Hairston fits the same mold. I've always liked him. The bench will be much better once Rickie returns.
  18. Carroll is the perfect target. Leads the league in P/PA for SS, which is what the lineup desperately needs. Plus he must cost less in prospect(s) than Furcal.
  19. RR's reasoning is pretty sound given that Gamel is a better hitter than Green. Just remove the anti-roenicke context twisting and it's actually feasible
  20. Melvin's always preferred veteran guys with major league experience. I think that's one of his biggest priorities in player evaluation. He puts a lot more into intangibles and the human element than your average brewerfan.net poster, I would think. In his defense, I have to think someone like Casey McGehee would be much more comfortable in a high-leverage situation than a newcomer like Green because he's been there before. You don't know how someone will react to that increased pressure and spotlight. I'm ready to see Green in a Brewers uniform but I understand why it hasn't happened.
  21. PTBNL is such an annoyance. Just name the players so we can get on with our lives. I can't feel anything about this trade unless I know who's going. How can anybody?
  22. He certainly has the physical capabilities but that's only one of many components of being a good defender
