  1. Incredible start from Manny. One of the most impressive outings from any Brewers starter this season, seriously. Especially considering the miserable run support - though a lot of credit to Piniero, not just knocking the offense.
  2. Wow - usually I hate people who gripe about all-star jerseys, but...really? Those are gross. Fielder to lead off again...
  3. I have trouble believing McGehee will continue to hit .330+ all season. He was hot for a while, he'll go back to being himself soon enough. As frustrating as Cam can be sometimes, I'd rather have him at 5. With Hart out and Hardy still slumping it makes it tough, though.
  4. It's bad enough that Gamel is watching again. McGehee hitting 5th? Come on.
  5. Wonderful start. Though the actual stats aren't helping my point - I feel like Gallardo constantly labors through the 1st inning. He usually finds a way to get out of it without much damage, but his pitch count gets up there early. Maybe my expectations are just too high...
  6. I've got to ask...I keep reading that Jack Z is completely responsible for all the drafted players. Does Doug Melvin do absolutely nothing draft-wise? What's the GM's role?
  7. No interest.
  8. Man, can he hit. Sure, that location and pitch selection on 0-2 is rather predictable, but you've still gotta put a nice swing on it. Very impressive.
  9. I keep hearing about how lefties don't throw changeups to lefties. Just now Schroeder mentioned that Santana won't throw changeups to Fielder because he's left-handed (though he did it twice), and I remember hearing about Mat Gamel liking left-handed pitching because he never got changeups from them. I assumed it was a fabrication of the FSN broadcasting crew until I heard Gamel say it. I never heard of this with righties on other righties. Why would left-handed pitchers stay away from the changeup to left-handed hitters? Can someone explain it?
  10. I have absolutely no idea why Looper is sent there. No idea. 10000 hits and 3 runs...go pitching staff!
  11. So Charlie V is almost certainly going to be signed, correct? Unless they plan on rotating Amir Johnson and Malik Allen...*shiver*
  12. Yovani's been rather erratic in his past few starts (even that start against Atlanta I didn't feel like he was all there), but you have to give him credit for limiting the damage. He leaves the game tonight with the lead, nicely done.
  13. Oh my goodness. What a great moment there for the team. They've been fighting and clawing all night and they've finally got the lead. Needless to say, this one is far from over. No lead is safe. Any tack-on runs here would be really, really helpful.
  14. I don't think Peralta threw a single good pitch in that inning. Somehow that works.
  15. What's the point of that stolen base? Good break there for Fielder...2-0.
  16. I'm guessing Macha wanted to keep away from the fly ball as much as possible...Coffey's got the sinker, I suppose. It's time for Corey Hart to start doing something. He's been useless for a while now.
  17. You knew the home plate ump couldn't help screwing over Mike Cameron tonight. The nerve...
  18. I came to this thread to see what you guys thought the Brewers might pick, and you guys nailed it. Nicely done. Needless to say, I like the pick. Obviously they were looking for pitching here and they got it. (I could land a job on MLB Network for that expert analysis)
  19. Wow, it's really easy to be irritated with Mike Gonzalez...obnoxious.
  20. What a weird decision. I could maybe understand if it was anyone but Kendall, but not bunting there makes no sense.
  21. It didn't seem like a game that would be won with pitching, anyway...
