  1. I think it will be Villanueva. I believe they have been grooming him for awhile now. I wouldn’t mind Seitzer or DeRosa.
  2. But Counsell was also taking the Mets job what happened there? Also Cohen will pay anything to get Counsell what happened with that?
  3. 🤮
  4. You still said the Mets were the only other option besides the Brewers and that Stearns was planning this since 2021! Plus Cohen would pay anything to get Counsell which also looks foolish right now. I also said if the Yankees job became available he would take the Yankees job. It never became available. But keep on believing your wild fantasy conspiracy theories.
  5. So I was told that Counsell would be the Mets manager and no other team was a possibility. Looks like someone’s conspiracy theory was off again.
  6. He is someone that I wanted the Bears to draft though I did have him mocked a few times to the Packers. He still needs to beef up a bit but that usually comes around year two. Van Ness was always going to be a project as he needs to be a lot stronger to be an every down edge in the NFL. The Packers should see him improve in year two like Brooks. He should be a bit bigger next year after going through an NFL conditioning program.
  7. One thing I am not seeing discussed is the FA market which will have a big impact on Burnes value. I don't think the Brewers are going to get the offers that they will think is fair for Burnes. There are just a lot of quality FA pitchers available this off season. Burnes is also 3-years now removed from his CY Young season and he hasn't replicated or come close to that season since. I don't believe Burnes is viewed as an ace any more and more along the lines of a #1 or #2 type pitcher. If you think Burnes is going to get an ace pitcher type of return you are going to be very disappointed when you hear the names that will get thrown around for Burnes. Ultimately it will have to be someone who overpays maybe the Padres do this but I don't see any other team out there overpaying for Burnes and I definitely don't see the Dodgers overpaying for Burnes. I think someone like Busch will be the headliner in a Dodgers trade and then you are looking at Kopp, Wrobleski or Heubeck being the second piece and then someone like McLain, Casparius or Biddison being the third piece in a trade with the Dodgers. I just don't see the Dodgers giving up any of their close to ready pitching for Burnes and at best you are looking at Busch plus for Burnes if you are looking at the Dodgers. You would probably have to include Devin Williams to get one of their better prospects but why do that when you could get a better return from someone else for Devin alone.
  8. The starting pitching FA market is actually rather strong this off season. You have the following players hitting FA. Stroman, Ryu, Perez, E. Rodriguez, Wood, Clevinger, Nola, Giolito, Gray, Snell, Severino, Montgomery, Odorizzi, Wacha, Flaherty, Miley, Maeda, Velasquez and Yamamoto. This is also not counting Ohtani who will miss all of the 2024 season and Kershaw who may miss half of the year. There is also Urias who has some serious legal issues to deal with. If Urias wouldn't be dealing with his issues and Ohtani was healthy this would have been the strongest pitching FA in a long time. There are a lot of options for #3-5 type starters. This is definitely a buyers market for these type of pitchers but still you are looking at something like $10-15m a year for some of these pitchers.
  9. I hate Culvers it is the worst fast food and their custard sucks. What is worse is that some people I know here in Phoenix think it is the best thing from WI.

One of the few things I miss about WI is KOPPS and Woodmans. I only have Fry’s and Safeway near me and an extremely expensive organic grocery store.
  11. The right guard looked offsides but I wasn’t really paying any attention and where I am watching we have the Bears on one side and the Packers on the other so could just be distortion from having the games split.
  12. I still think it will be the Padres who will eventually pay for Burnes. I am not sold on the Dodgers actually paying what the Brewers will want in return for Burnes. If it is the Dodgers just be prepared to be disappointed as I don't believe the Dodgers will give up any of their top prospects in a trade for Burnes.
  13. The second one was the right call to go for the 1st down. They had the correct play and a wide open receiver Locke just over threw the WR.
  14. I wish this was the only issue with Giannis as he looks completely lost in pick and rolls. The Lopez turnover in the 4th is a key example of this. Giannis was supposed to roll towards the basket instead he looked lost and was standing at the top of the key. It is like he only knew how to do one play in the 4th and that was stand at the top of the key and drive at all of the defenders. Giannis is taking steps backwards offensively. I am not sure if it is just something mental or him not knowing how to run an effective pick and roll. I am hoping it is just something mental and he will get over it but if he continues to look lost with the pick and roll this team is not going to go very far. Giannis needs to learn how to roll and not stand at the top of the key. If he rolls in the 4th he has an easy bucket that Lopez would have been able to get him in a cut right down the lane. This feels like we are dealing with rookie Giannis right now.
  15. Giannis regressing offensively. Wow is he bad in the pick and roll.
  16. Not sure why everyone keeps on bringing up Lux. Is it because he is from WI? I don’t get the obsession over him. He is not that great of a player. If you are trading Burnes for Lux plus probably should just give them Peralta while we are at it.
  17. Decision for the Mets job is supposedly coming to an end by next week. Quick edit the finalists for the Mets job are Counsell, Kotsay, Green and Mendoza. Also Cohen will be meeting with the finalists to talk financials.
  18. All mocks have Williams and Maye going 1-2. It is possible that Harrison goes #2 but the Packers would have to be picking #3 if they are not they are not getting Maye or Williams. The two best players in the draft are Williams and Maye as this is a QB league. Harrison is a special talent but the NFL places so much value on QB's that I just don't see a team passing on either Williams or Maye with the #1 or #2 pick. Harrison will be the firs WR drafted but I don't believe he will go #2 unless the Bears are picking 1 and 2. The Cardinals also only have maybe one winnable game against the Texans or Bears. Everyone else they play are .500 or better. If you have watched any Cardinals games you should know they absolutely suck and probably shouldn't have won a game so far this year. The Packers have a far better team than the Cardinals. The Bears are playing their backup QB who didn't even get drafted. The Bears defense is still a patch work of bad even with Sweat added. If you think the Packers safeties suck just check the Bears safeties out. Also the Bears pass rush a wet blanket would get more sacks and QB pressures than this team. Only Moore and Mooney have really contributed offensively for the Bears. Kmet has been fine but the QB can't get to the second or third read before they are sacked or getting pressured. Fields may miss the rest of the season with his thumb injuries. Even with Love being as bad as he has he isn't as bad as the Bears backup QB. I just don't see the Packers losing out which is what they will have to do to get the #1 or #2 pick in the draft. It is just not happening. The #3 pick is also only about a 40% chance of happening. Just looking at the schedules I just don't see the other teams winning enough. The Cardinals probably only have one win on their schedule. The Packers are not going to finish 3-14 or 2-15 they just won't. They are not bad enough to finish like that as the other teams they are battling are far worse than they are. The Packers have at least two wins against the Bears and Panthers then they probably have another against the Giants. That is three wins right there and that takes them out of the top 3 picks and puts them at 4 or 5.
  19. Probably would have been the same outcome season wise. The playoffs are too much of a crap shoot so no idea beyond the season.
  20. The Packers would have to win maybe one or two more games to have a chance at Maye. Right now it is Williams and Maye at 1 and 2. For the Packers to get the #1 pick they will have to lose the rest of their games and hope for the Cardinals and Panthers to win 2 more games. The most likely scenario for the Packers is a pick within the 4-6 range which means you are not getting Maye or Williams unless you trade up. As it stands right now the Bears have the #2 and 3 pick in the draft. The Bears have the Panthers and Cardinals on their schedule left and those are the only two winnable games for them. The Bears have Lions (2), Vikings, Browns, Cardinals, Panthers, Falcons, Packers and Saints left to play. That is at least 4 guaranteed losses with 3 maybe losses and 2 likely wins. The most likely scenario for the Bears is probably 3-6 for the rest of the season. That would put them at 5-12 but I think they only win 2 more games and go 4-13. I wouldn't be surprised if the Bears only win 1 or none the rest of the year. Fields will be out versus the Saints and it is looking like he will be out against the Panthers also. He may return against the Lions either in week 11 or week 14. He could also be out for the season. If Fields is out for the season I don't see the Bears winning more than 2 games and they probably only win one or none. The Packers have the Rams, Steelers, Chargers, Chiefs, Lions, Giants, Buccaneers, Panthers, Bears and Vikings. I think the likeliest scenario is the Packers going 4-6 to finish the season. That puts the Packers at 5-12 behind the Bears if the Bears win 3 games that is which I am not sure they will. At 5-12 you are probably looking at the #4-8 pick in the draft. I just don't see a scenario where the Packers will be able to get in the top 2 pick range. They would have to play worse than the Bears, Cardinals, Panthers, Patriots and Giants. I am not sure the Packers are going to be able to do that. The Cardinals have the toughest remaining schedule so they probably have the #1 pick all locked up right now. The Bears more than likely will have two picks in the 2-5 range.
  21. Nelson Cruz retires.
  22. I am assuming this means Houser will be traded or won’t be offered arbitration.
  23. All they get is a head start on negotiating a contract with him. They could franchise tag him also.
  24. 1 the challenge to win in Milwaukee or Cleveland would be far greater than in NY. 2 he already knows Arnold and gets along with him. So only a negative for Cleveland somewhat. 3 Cleveland has paid their managers well in the past. Unknown for the Brewers on money but they are not shy on spending and extending their budget.
