  1. Hopefully the after the win goes better than last time.
  2. Because it is winter time and there is nothing else to do. Does there really need to be a reason?
  3. I am not saying that is their value. I am saying that is what the Dodgers offered for Burnes and Adames and I don't think the Brewers are getting offers for either that are coming close to their values hence why I think their value is far lower than what their value is perceived to be. Meaning the Brewers are not going to accept these offers and are just going to keep both.
  4. I am going to assume this is what the Dodgers offered for Burnes and Adames. I still don’t believe Burnes has the value people think he has. The Brewers are more than likely going to keep Burnes and Adames as the offers don’t look like they are going to be much more than what the Dodgers offered.
  5. Don’t the Brewers have a roster crunch anyways even if MLB doesn’t reduce? The Brewers only had one rookie team this year and that was extremely crowded. Not to mention all of the DSL players they maybe bringing over this year and I seem to remember there being some issues with the size of those two teams in the DSL.
  6. I am wondering if a state or city will challenge this deferred money that it should also be taxed by them and not just the state Ohtani resides in or doesn't if he leaves the country. In the past the amounts were not as large as what Ohtani will be paid in the future and compared to what the state or city would be taxing Ohtani on if he were to be paid his full amount. I don't think a state or city will challenge this but it brings up some interesting questions. OK make it two instead of three. Still two years in a row that the Giants were left to go to prom with mom.
  7. I wonder if this is something with the Giants or just the FA's not liking the team construction. That is 3 now that have completely bailed on the Giants with competitive offers (Judge, Ohtani and Correa).
  8. I think Toronto would be more interested in Burnes than Yelich. Bichette and Vlad are both FA's in 2026. They have one more season of the young players similar to what the Brewers were facing going into 2010 and then into 2011 being Prince's final year. Do the Blue Jays think of trading Vlad and Bichette if their season goes bad or do they trade now for someone like Burnes. Yelich doesn't really make any sense for the Blue Jays. It just adds salary and doesn't really fix a problem for them. If the Blue Jays don't sign someone in FA like Yamamoto then I think they will pivot to the trade market. If the Blue Jays are unwilling to trade Tiedemann then I don't think they are going to get the top pitchers on the trade market. The Blue Jays secondary prospects are just not worth as much to get a pitcher like Burnes or Cease.
  9. Hader couldn't develop a change up like Sale as it is very difficult to do from the low 3/4 arm slot. It is extremely difficult to get on top of the ball from that arm slot which you need to do to have a successful change up. Hader just couldn't do that consistently. His change up in 2017 was rated as a 45 which is a below average pitch. Hader became a reliever because he couldn't consistently throw the change up and that was mainly due to his arm slot. If Misio will become a reliever it will mainly be due to injury concerns. Hader and Misio are completely different pitchers and there is no comparison other than looking at K% and BB%. I think MIsio has another year but he could see an MLB mound in '24 as a reliever. I believe the Brewers will want to build up his innings more so I am not sure that is 100% in the plans for the Brewers but it is possible he sees MLB action in '24 if everything goes right.
  10. I can't believe no one else has posted this. The Brewers have new minority owners in Ralph and Shelly Stayer. They own the Johnsonville LLC. Yes that Johnsonville that makes sausage. https://www.mlb.com/news/johnsonville-llc-joins-brewers-ownership-group
  11. If the Jays took on all of Yelich's contract and then offered something like Addison Barger and Kendry Rojas (LHP). I would be all over that. I think the Brewers would have to take on a portion of Yelich's contract to be able to move him. Tiedemann is completely off the table in a Yelich trade.
  12. All spring training games are only exhibition. It is rare for a player to play the whole game during spring training. Also facing MLB pitchers in spring training is not the same as facing MLB pitchers in an actual MLB game. The majority of the time the pitcher is just working on something or are just warming up for the season. Missing one game is not going to hurt Chourio or any prospect at all. Not sure why you think the Brewers would hold him out of something like this. Missing one game won't hurt Chourio's development.
  13. Chourio will still get games against major league pitchers. This is only one game.
  14. Hopefully these are small cuts otherwise we will be back where we were inflation wise.
  15. The Brewers don't play until March 17th which is the last game of this. I am fairly confident in Chourio being apart of this along with Black and Frelick. There isn't really a rule of who is or isn't allowed to play in this game. For example Corbin Carroll could be in this showcase.
  16. MLB has announced Spring Breakout which is a showcase of prospects from every team. https://www.mlb.com/news/spring-breakout-prospect-showcase-to-debut-in-2024?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage
  17. The one FA I would have paid a lot for signed with the Giants:
  18. I would like to thank the Packers for keeping the Bears alive for a top 5 pick. Really truly thank you.
  19. The other person I was replying to.
  20. Yes but that is still not a zero percent chance. It is possible the Brewers go against what they have done previously and move Wilken up. It is impossible to say for certain what the Brewers plans are for Wilken.
  21. If everything goes right it is possible he makes it up to the Brewers. Probably as a September call up. I wouldn’t say he won’t be up for another year. Prospects don’t tend to be on a linear path.
  22. I think I just heard more about a kicker in a game since Madden going on a bumbling rant about Summerall.
  23. Watching Ferguson lineup off the offensive line just reminds me how bad of a HC PC was. How do you have someone like that and very rarely if ever line him up in the slot or off of the offensive line? He was an absolute bumbling idiot when it came to taking advantage of the players he had and calling good plays and being more creative than a crayon.
  24. If you go from 1% to 2% that is still an increase in sales. It maybe a small amount but it is still an increase. Even if the Dodgers current out of market sales is 3% if Ohtani increases that to 5% that is still a win for the Dodgers and will be an improvement over what they are doing now. So the Dodgers bottom line will improve how much it improves no idea but it will improve but probably just at a smaller rate. The out of market sales is what is going to improve here not the in market maybe for a season it improves for in market but out of market sales is what the Dodgers will see an increase in.
  25. I think the Dodgers will. Ohtani is the closest thing to an NBA superstar where fans regardless if they are Dodgers fans or not will buy his jersey or merchandise. The last player who had a following like this was Trout and before that it was Griffey. MLB typically doesn't have these types of players because it is more of a local market only unlike the NBA where it is mostly a player driven market. The NFL also doesn't have an Ohtani or a LeBron like phenom where consumers will buy a players jersey and don't really follow the team the player is playing for. MLB, NFL and the NHL are all local market driven as there are very few to none where you will have someone or multiple players be their own market. So I believe the Dodgers will definitely make a lot more off of Ohtani than they will of Freeman and Betts. It is possible Ohtani could reach just general Dodgers merchandise levels. You can't look at it as just Dodgers fans buying Ohtani merchandise but also non Dodgers fans which as I have stated previously is usually not the case for MLB teams. Ohtani is just in a different class than any other player in MLB right now. The only one who rivals him is Trout and he isn't even close to being on the same level as Ohtani is.
