  1. There has to be some releases or the Brewers have been given an advance notice that they can have two teams in the rookie league this year. If the Brewers are not able to get a second rookie league team this is going to be a rather large roster crunch.
  2. I believe it is more of an efficiency thing if I am remembering what my friend told me when he did this. If you live in place where there are houses closely packed together or even loosely packed together the driver would have to do this for every driveway and then possibly have to come down your road 2-4 more times than they normally would have to. Ideally I think the city, county and state only want the driver to go down a street twice. Once on one side and another on the other side. I bet if you lived on a dead end street where they could pile up the snow they wouldn't use an angle. As the snow could then be piled up at the dead end. Though this makes it more dangerous for the driver as they will need to be able to backup and then maneuver out of the dead end. Then you have to deal with the people living there being impatient that they can't get out of their driveway because the truck is backing up and maneuvering out of the dead end. Though this is usually done with a smaller vehicle or not at all. So your driveway gets blocked because it is easier and more efficient for the driver to move the snow like this. If the driver did this with a straight angle they would have to dump the snow somewhere. And since they can't just dump it in the middle of an intersection it goes instead into the side of the road which means it goes into your driveway. Also I believe angled is better for the roads which means less repairs in the spring, summer and fall. If you really hate it move to a state that doesn't have snow.
  3. Less than the number they signed last year:
  4. Apparently ESPN will be part of the NFL. https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl-reportedly-in-advanced-talks-with-espn-to-buy-stake-in-sports-network-011850735.html So lets just make it official and just rename ESPN to the NFL Network as that is what it will be other than for college basketball/football and some NBA games. Get ready for 99% NFL on Sports Center which is just a slight increase from 95%. The other 0.9% of Sports Center will be NBA and everyone else gets .01% time.
  5. The Panthers haven't had a winning season since 2017. With the Panthers coming in with a 33-year old WR in Thielen and a RB by the name of Miles Sanders (who is that?) I am not sure why so many had them at 7.5 wins versus 6 wins for the Texans. I think the Texans over performed but I don't think switching Stroud over to the Panthers gets them more than 5 wins. Maybe they get to 4 wins instead of 2 but I am not sure that even happens. Young has looked bad but he has no one to throw to and no one behind him to run the ball. The OL also looks extremely weak. Would the Panthers be better off at QB? Yes they would be better off at QB but overall team wise I don't see them being better than what they are. Then on the defensive side the Panthers are worse than the Bears on the pass rush which I didn't think was possible. The Texans overall just have a better team than the Panthers and not just at QB. If you switched Stroud with Young on the Texans I think Young does better with the Texans than he has done with the Panthers. Stroud is the better QB and on the better team overall. Young is stuck on an absolutely awful team with Young being the best talent on both sides and by a wide margin. You can't say that about Stroud and the Texans, while Stroud is probably their best player it is not by as big of a gap as it is for Young with the Panthers.
  6. I don’t think the overall record for the Panthers would have changed if they went with Stroud. The Panthers just have no offensive talent on their team. Their OL is also bad. It doesn’t matter who the QB is if they don’t have anyone to throw to or are constantly on their back due to the OL being a turnstile. You can’t just draft a QB without also giving that QB some weapons on offense. The Panthers went with the get the QB and then ???? strategy.
  7. I am not sure the Brewers match up all that well with the Marlins. What I mean by this is I don't believe there are pieces that the Marlins would want that the Brewers are willing to part with. Obviously Chourio would be of interest to the Marlins but I don't believe you are getting Arraez or Luzardo back in a trade for someone like Frelick or MItchell. Turang also doesn't make any sense for the Marlins.
  8. That is a huge blow.
  9. Bitcoin has an actual use case for it. It can be used for many things especially the technology behind Bitcoin. NFT’s were just limited digital art which you could just copy rather easily.
  10. The one thing that I still fear for the economy is the quantitative tightening. There has never been a full cycle of tightening we are basically in uncharted waters for this.
  11. Yes and that doesn't make what I said incorrect. Lopez is a bad perimeter player as he can't move as well as he once did. Being the runner-up for DPOY last year has no bearing on that. Yes he was the 2nd best defender last year in those series but he was also a poor perimeter defender. When Lopez is at his best he is in the paint. That is where he gets a lot of his defensive value. You are just ignoring this completely. Where did I say elite level? I said someone who can defend out on the perimeter. Lopez can't do that anymore. He is at an elite level in the paint but he is absolutely atrocious when it comes to defending the perimeter or even providing help defense out on the perimeter. The Bucks need a young center who they can bring in and help defend out on the perimeter. They don't need to be elite just someone that can help out and not be a liability out there. The Bucks have actually gone back to the dropping Lopez into the paint on those high switches. So the coaching has made a change there. It just causes other issues which appeared last year when the Bucks did this. It opens up the perimeter more and teams that can shoot will be making a lot of shots because of this. It was this downfall among other things that got Bud fired.
  12. You forgot Prince Fielder as he signed a two year deal in 2009 (2009 and 2010 season). The Brewers and Fielder then avoided arbitration in 2011 at $15.5mm. https://www.espn.com/mlb/news/story?id=3853135 https://www.sbnation.com/2011/1/18/2328277/prince-fielder-signs-one-year-deal-with-brewers-avoiding-arbitration
  13. Unlikely their owner has stated they want to run their team like the Brewers and Rays. Except they are ignoring all of the FA contracts and extensions the Brewers have done (Cain, Yelich, Grandal, Moustakas, Chourio and others). The Orioles haven't spent anywhere. The Brewers and Rays have also traded prospects when it was called for. For the Brewers it was for Moustakas, Yelich and almost for Machado the Brewers didn't want to give up Burnes ironically for Machado.
  14. It is not a coaching problem because it is the NBA. The players run the team and the coaches are just there for the ride. This has been a problem with Lopez for a few seasons now. Bud had him basically camp the lane and that worked during the season. But once the playoffs rolled around it didn't work. Lopez just doesn't move all that well and can't be playing anywhere near the perimeter on defense. If he is out there he is a liability and if he isn't out there the Bucks suffer by giving up easy 3's. Lopez just can't defend out there anymore and there is no coaching that is going to fix that. Teams take advantage of this all the time and if you do switch and keep Lopez low all the time as it creates really bad mismatches. The Bucks really need a young center who can defend out on the perimeter.
  15. Apparently I just needed to call out Portis to get him to play better?
  16. Bitcoin ETF’s have been approved.
  17. We can cross off Busch as a possible prospect in a return for Burnes. He was just traded to the Cubs:
  18. Cubs get Michael Busch and Yency Almonte in trade with Dodgers:
  19. Nick Saban is retiring.
  20. Bowden said this about a Red Sox trade for Burnes. “They touched base with the Brewers on Corbin Burnes and that went nowhere”. https://theathletic.com/5192108/2024/01/10/mlb-offseason-trades-free-agents-teams/?source=user_shared_article
  21. No idea on the models being used but I think it is safe to say they are using a more conservative number for defense and bullpen when plugging it into the model.
  22. No Wiemer and Turang wouldn’t get it done along with Burnes. The only way the Brewers get Lee is if it is for Peralta. The Twins wouldn’t trade for Turang either as he doesn’t fit their current team needs. They have enough players who can play SS/2B.
  23. Vrabel fired by Titans. Weird that they would fire Vrabel when there were rumors of the Patriots possibly trading for him. Vrabel should be the next Patriots HC to replace Belichick.
  24. One has already bowed out in the Braves for Cease and Burnes and went with Sale. The Dodgers still could go out and get Burnes but it would be on their terms and not the Brewers. So if it is the Dodgers expect something extremely light where the Brewers don't even consider the trade. I don't believe the Orioles have ever been in on or involved with a Burnes trade. Maybe for Peralta but I don't think they would give up the prospects to get someone like Peralta. Which comes to the Cease problem, the Orioles have been connected to Cease but it doesn't look like the Orioles are willing to part with any of their prospects even for Cease. If Cease or Burnes do get traded it is because the Brewers and White Sox GM's decide to take what they can get now than risk waiting for the trade deadline, which I don't believe will happen so no trade for either. It is either take a lesser offer from the Yankees, Orioles or Dodgers or wait it out until the deadline.
