  1. I don't think Lux is a great player. He has had one good year so far. I think he is limited to 2B only and is not a SS. I think counting on him being a SS will be a big mistake. Also counting on him replicating his 2022 season is also foolish. He is also only just an above average base runner though he is in the top 89 percentile in sprint speed. With the torn ACL, LCL and a hamstring tear that could sap a lot of his speed. If he drops to lets say the 70th percentile in sprint speed and with his base running at 69th percentile how far will he drop there? If he drops to about average around 50th percentile then he starts losing value. That 3.0 fWAR is going to drop to around a 2.0 fWAR. He does have a lot of range in fielding but I am wondering if this is more shift based. With the current rules of no shifting is Lux really that great of a fielder without the shift? There are way too many question marks on Lux for him to be in a Burnes deal. Maybe if he is a throw in but I doubt the Dodgers do that. Lux has very little value right now on the trade market because of the injuries and the question marks of how he will perform after these injuries.
  2. If a cap comes with a floor the players union will be somewhat in favor of it. The problem is the owners won't agree to a floor. Also some type of revenue sharing with the MLBPA would need to be agreed on and the owners have not shown any interest in sharing any revenue.
  3. Ummm Wilken finished the year in AA. It is also his most likely starting point in ‘24.
  4. Braves-Angels trade:
  5. The Red Sox basically gave up a couple of nobodies for a questionable bat. O'Neill is good if he is healthy but that is a big IF. The Cardinals got a AAAA bounce me around pitcher and a 7th or 8th man out of the bullpen piece. Definitely sold low on O'Neill there.
  6. And also commit a lot of war crimes. Do not anger the nice Canadians....... Please note the war crimes thing is a running joke about Canadians in the military.
  7. Fairly accurate for player values. Not perfect but it is the best that we have.
  8. Jasson Dominguez isn't really a buy low candidate especially with how he finished playing in NY to end the season. From the Yankess perspective Dominguez would be the main piece going out with one or two other lower end prospects. Jones and Hampton would be close to what Burnes value is. If you get a bidding war you could probably up that to someone like Gleyber Torres. So Jones, Hampton and Torres or someone like Torres for Burnes. I am not that familiar with the Yankees farm system to find someone like Torres to include so Torres it is. I don't believe the Brewers would have all that much interest in Torres and I am not sure the Yankees really match up all that well with the Brewers either.
  9. If Ohtani signs with the Blue Jays or someone else that will make it two years in a row where the Giants have offered large contracts to the #1 FA. Supposedly the Giants offer to Judge last year was more than what the Yankees offered I believe? I could be wrong on this. But if Ohtani also forgoes the Giants is this something that is telling about the Giants or just some white noise?
  10. That would be good for the Brewers at least for a Burnes trade. That leaves the Braves, Rangers, Dodgers and Giants all looking for starters.
  11. January 12th is the date this time. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/mlb-offseason-key-dates-free-agency-start-awards-winter-meetings-hall-of-fame-spring-training-and-more/amp/
  12. This is an awesome read on the Bucks pick and roll issues and success. https://theathletic.com/5100682/2023/12/07/giannis-dame-bucks-pick-and-roll/?source=user_shared_article Antetokounmpo-Lillard pick-and-roll is a work in progress but showing signs of awesome potential
  13. I think it will be Santana as he is another strong clubhouse guy. Having Adames and Santana in the clubhouse to help Chourio and the other younger players navigate a MLB season is a huge positive.
  14. Loki was good and far better than any of their recent movies.
  15. Probably not with the minor league catchers at least not after spring training. The Brewers do like to spread out the responsibilities so he still maybe leading that instead of being the one doing the instructing. It is impossible to tell without one of the beat writers asking this question.
  16. I think Turang will get closer to what Cronenworth did last year with a full season. So I don't see it being that much of a difference. I also believe that Cronenworth is going to continue to decline. Also taking contracts involved is 46 points of OBP and 105 points of slugging significantly better when comparing what you are paying for each?
  17. Recently he hasn't been all that much better than Turang. 2023 Cronenworth: .229/.331/.405 2023 Turang: .218/.285/.300 Other than slugging there really isn't much of a difference between '23 Turang and '23 Cronenworth. If it only takes Bauers for Cronenworth with the Padres paying about 15% of Cronenworth's salary sure that would be fine. I don't think the Padres would be interested in that.
  18. Soto to Yankees https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/juan-soto-trade-yankees-land-star-slugger-from-padres-in-seven-player-blockbuster-per-report/amp/ Full deal: RHP Michael King, RHP Drew Thorpe, RHP Jhony Brito, RHP Randy Vásquez and catcher Kyle Higashioka for Soto.
  19. Google says: The act of interpreting information or a situation in a way that casts it as favorable or desired, despite the fact that there is no evidence for such a conclusion; a wishful forecast.
  20. Also for the NBA it tends to be more a player’s league than a team’s league. You will find a lot of fans of Kobe or LeBron who just like the player but not the team they play on. The NBA is just different than the other leagues. The NBA marketing of its top players is 100 times better than all of the other leagues combined.
  21. Only if the team name starts with a B for me. I have been in Phoenix for just over 10 years now and I don’t like the Dbacks, Cardinals, Suns or Coyotes. I think the Suns and Cardinals are the #1 and #2 team here in Phoenix. The Dbacks and Coyotes are a distant 3rd and 4th.
  22. You can never have too many infielders. There will always be an injury or someone just doesn’t perform or needs someone to platoon with. You can also rotate players between DH and an INF spot. I wouldn’t worry about the position the Brewers get back in any trade. If the best prospect is an INF great if they are an OF that is also great or a pitcher which also would be great.
  23. For me Lux would have to be the 4th piece in the deal. If the Brewers still had Toro I would have included Toro in the deal for Lux. That is basically the value I see of Lux he is worth a Toro and no more.
  24. Just no on Lux being in any deal for Burnes or Adames.
