Right but still they have to bypass the Bears(Panthers) and Cardinals. Maybe they bypass one but all three that maybe tough. If Fields is out for much longer I don’t see the Bears winning many games. Right now Carolina is the only maybe on their schedule and a toss up with the Packers. Every other game looks to be a certain loss for them. Chiefs Rams and Chargers I believe are the only tough games for the Packers left other than the Lions? I think the Packers could pick as high as 3 but I am not sure they will be bad enough to be 1 or 2.

Arizona has a rather hard schedule with their remaining games. Which should put the Cardinals in the top 3. The Bears have an easy schedule but they are horrible and haven’t shown any improvement over last year. So Bears and Cardinals should be the 1-3 picks.

If he does he will need to trade with the Bears or Cardinals to do so unless one of them takes someone else with the 1-3 picks which is possible but not likely. The Bears are probably the only team that will trade out of their pick at least one of them. One will be used for a QB or a OT or maybe for a WR. I believe the Bears and Packers have traded in the past. I think it was a first round pick in the 70’s? So there is some history of that happening. Maybe Arizona trades out of the #1 pick but that would take at least the Packers first round pick in ‘24 and ‘25 to do so along with some other picks. Maybe the Packers trade for Murray instead????

I agree for the most part. Locke looks good and then looks bad at times. I think it is just a repetition issue right now. There are some things he needs to cleanup but that will come with time. Defensively against the pass they were great. Some of this was because of the opposing teams QB. They covered the #1 WR in all of college football exceptionally well. It was the running game where the Badgers defense didn’t do all that well against. Ohio State’s RB looked like an NFL RB. So I am not going to knock them all that much for giving up the yards they did. It is very difficult to shutdown both the run and pass when you have exceptional players at both spots. Ohio State’s TE also was a non factor all game another impressive feat by the defensive unit. Center is still an issue for the offensive line. A lot of poor snaps still. Though it seems there weren’t as many in this game. This was a good loss. They weren’t absolutely destroyed like usual in the first half and didn’t give up after the first half like in the past. Even though they were never in a position to win they still never gave up and tried to get back into the game. Hopefully this is something they can build on going forward.

The only other Big Ten team I will root for is Michigan State in basketball everyone else I don’t care about and will never root for them. Izzo is my favorite head coach in basketball and if they are not playing UW or Marquette I will root for them.

That could work but I think you need to get closer to $20m. So maybe 2/$16-18m is probably closer. Even at 2/$13m you could pitch it as rehab for $1m and then $12m in year two which would be just over his arbitration estimate for '24. I think you need to get closer to $3m for year one and then something closer to $13-15m in year two. So a 2/$16m would work with $3m in year one and then $13m in year two.

Just remove the NL and AL from it and go with the best 16 teams. This would also require realignment and would probably need to come with expansion which looks like it is on track right now for 2028 or 2030. Add two more teams to the league and remove the NL and AL along with the divisions. Everyone plays everyone at least twice and you play your geographically located teams four times for two home and two away series. The top 16 teams advance to the playoffs for the WS and the bottom 16 teams play for the number one pick with reverse order standings 16th ranked team gets the number 1 seed etc... The number one pick tournament is a single game elimination and will be held at the following cities (Milwaukee, Houston, Phoenix, Las Vegas, LA, SD, Seattle, Miami, Toronto or Arlington) if they are not in the number one pick tournament. The top four teams get the top four picks in the draft with the winner getting the #1 pick. In the number one pick tournament teams can use anyone on their 40-man roster or minor league system and are limited to 30 players. Seeding for the WS is based on record only. The first two rounds are a 2-game series the lower seed needs to win 2-games to advance and the higher seed only needs to win one game all games are played at the higher seeds park. The final two rounds are 7-game series and follow the normal rules. So this year it would have looked like this: 1. Braves 2. Orioles 3. Dodgers 4. Rays 5. Brewers 6. Astros 7. Rangers 8. Phillies 9. Blue Jays 10. Mariners 11. Twins 12. Marlins 13. D'backs 14. Cubs 15-16. Padres/Yankees/Reds I think this allows the teams with the best records in the regular season to have an extreme advantage in the first two rounds while punishing the lower seeded teams. Also a Phillies Blue Jays series would have been an epic match up in the first round of the playoffs.

I think it is more that they need a pass rusher and currently have zero on their team. Young would make them better on the defensive side of things. But if they could get Young for a couple of 2nd or 3rd round picks it wouldn't be a bad idea to do it. If they have to give up any of their first round picks then yeah it is a stupid idea.

The second year could also be an option year based on a physical. The Brewers would just have to include a buyout if that were the case. The ceiling doesn't really need to be all that high for it to work in the Brewers favor. If Woodruff returns healthy and is able to pitch like he is able to $13-16m for one year is rather favorable for the Brewers considering what you would have to pay in FA for that.

There are a lot of 5-Star QB recruits who become bad QB’s. Majority of his success is because of his WR’s. It is also not just one half he looked bad last week against PSU.
