Could get a competitive balance pick from the Rays, Mariners, Reds, Royals, Rockies, Guardians, Pirates, Orioles, A's, Marlins or D'backs. If the Brewers trade Burnes up to 2-hours before the draft. So it is possible the Rays could trade prospects plus their comp-a pick (~$6M) to the Brewers. I am just not sure the Rays would do that. A quick edit something like: Williams (SS/3B), Comp-A pick and Basabe (SS) would be at that $45m surplus value.

The Brewers will have some leverage but not much. I think the most the Brewers get is $45m in excess value. Burnes right now is rated at about $50m in excess value so the Brewers will be selling at about a $5m loss. I think most trades are going to come in at the $40m mark. So at most expect 1 top 25-50 ranked player and a bunch of 15-20 organizational ranked players.

The Cardinals would have to pick up 2-3 starting pitchers that are better than what they have. Would adding two of Lynn, Giolito or Rodriguez be enough? Take into account the Cardinals don't get to beat up on the Pirates, Reds and Cubs all that much more. Right now the Cardinals have a bunch of #3-5 type pitchers in their rotation and most are pitching closer to #5 pitchers. Lynn is also not that great this year. Right now Montgomery and Mikolas are the best pitchers on the Cardinals staff and they are looking more like #4's than top of the rotation pieces. The Cardinals would need to add an ace and at least one #3 type pitcher to make their rotation better. Also take into consideration nearly all of their SP this year will be FA's next offseason. Other than Walker who the Cardinals are not trading their next best prospect is a starting pitcher. Actually 3 of their next 4 after Walker are pitchers. The Cardinals are going to need all of that pitching in the coming years unless they plan on paying FA rates for a starting pitcher or they need to subtract from their MLB team to do so. I don't see the Cardinals making a big splash for a trade. They will probably just add Lynn who looks to be on the decline also and somehow turn him around and have him pitch like he was a few years ago or something. But will that be enough for the rest of their punchless starting pitchers?

They blew nothing by not drafting Wagner last year. He is a K machine and is currently sitting at .226 / .376 / .431 in A+ with 44 K's. I don't think he will be a MLB regular at best he is going to be a bench bat if he even makes it to MLB.

I doubt Hopkins would be interested in coming to the Packers. Probably would want to go somewhere with a higher Super Bowl chance. I think he goes to the Chiefs, Bengals, Eagles or Jets.

Taylor is a SS as much as Braun was a SS. Unless your name is clancy then Taylor is not a SS.

Miller is coming off an injury to his hamate. He really hasn't looked like the hitter he was last year since the injury. If you want a corner IF Schanuel is probably the guy you want. Brayden Taylor is another corner IF who has slipped he was considered a top 10 pick early on but with his early play he played out of a top 10 pick but he has come roaring back. I think K's maybe a problem for Taylor once he starts playing in the upper minors and MLB but his bat is legit. He has 25+ HR potential and he is solid at 3B he could also play 2B though he is not really quick enough to play there. Schanuel you may be able to get under slot which should allow the Brewers to go more aggressive with their other picks. I like Taylor and Schanuel over Miller. The Brewers could also go with Yohandy Morales who looks like he has slipped out of the 1st round and should be there for the Brewers competitive balance pick at 33.

What is even crazier is Trea Turner's slash line: .250 / .295 / .392

I still think the Brewers go pitcher in the first round. Keith Law has Hurston Waldrep mocked to the Brewers at 18. He hasn't pitched all that great so far this year in Florida but the stuff is top of the rotation stuff. If he falls to the Brewers I think that will be the pick. Matt Shaw is another name being thrown around with the 18th pick. I am not sure on Shaw he looks to be a 2B/LF. Shaw is an average everything basically. He should top out around the 25 HR mark and hit about .275. His skills are about average as they come. A name to watch is Nolan Schanuel. He has power and he doesn't K all that much but he plays in Conference USA so some of his numbers need to be taken with the proverbial grain of salt. He is also a 1B only and probably more of a DH. This is Schanuel's stat line so far at Florida Atlantic: .460/.623/.888 I don't see the Brewers going the HS route as Turang (2018) was the last time the Brewers took a HS player. But if the Brewers do go with a HS player it maybe someone like Colt Emersson (SS), Kevin McGonigle (SS) or Blake Mitchell (C). McGonigle sounds similar to Turang when he was drafted. Keith Law suggested Dillon Head (OF) for the Rays but I think that is another name to watch for the Brewers. He is another type of player that the Brewers have been drafting recently. I am hoping Waldrep drops in the draft as that would be the perfect draft for the Brewers. Waldrep preseason was in the top 10 and some discussion of him being drafted in the top 5 picks.

The NHL will try until there are no options left in Phoenix to keep the team here. For whatever reason the NHL will not let go of Phoenix even if it means the team plays in a college arena. I don't see the NHL moving the Coyotes to Milwaukee unless Milwaukee moves to the southwest. That is the only way the city of Milwaukee would be getting the Coyotes.

No the NHL wants to keep the team in AZ. If they move it would be to Salt Lake City or Austin.

The Blackhawks have been stuck in salary cap jail for awhile now. It is not like they could have tried to sign a free agent this past off season to try and win. They tried that the year before and it blew up in their face. This was just a bad aging team that they now have all of their bad contracts for the most part over with.

The Cardinals would have to go 68-59 to reach Fangraph's win total which is within reason. For the Brewers to reach 86 wins that is a 67-60 record the rest of the way which is also within reason. The Cardinals may not have a losing season but I don't see them winning more than 86 games this year. They would need to go on an epic run in June and July to do so which means only losing about 5-games in those two months and also turn it around in May and only lose about 5 of their remaining 22 games. The only easy games for the Cardinals left this month are the Reds(4) and Royals (2). The way that MLB has the schedule setup now it is not as easy as it was like last year where you could beat up on the Reds and Pirates for 6 games a month.

Went to a Tyler Childers concert last week it was awesome but I really liked Charlie Crockett who opened for him. Kind of reminds me of the old country music from the 1950-60's era. Almost like some rockabilly a bit with some of his songs.

There was no one reviewing the violations. The speed cameras were ticketing people for going 1 MPH over the speed limit. There was no review it was just picture and then you would get the ticket in the mail. It was just bad and they stopped enforcing them in 2016 or 2017. It was basically just a money grab by the city to get as much as they could without actually doing anything. They stopped after the lawsuits started piling up.

No just no. They do that here in Phoenix and you get a ticket at times when the light is green and you are in the middle of the intersection when it turns yellow. Not a violation but you still get a ticket and have to fight it. It got really bad down here for awhile. They have stopped with the traffic cameras as they were horrible.

The Cardinals are currently sitting at 9-16 and could have an even worse record as they finish out against the Dodgers this weekend. In April the Cardinals have gone 9-15 so far. No matter how you cut this this doesn’t look good for the Cardinals.
